Gold scenes that could have been platinum

One of my favorite scenes is in "Rarity takes Manhattan." Rarity is freaking out the night before the show and is being very rude to her friends and trying to irrationally guilt-trip them.

The scene was great, BUT It would have been absolutely awesome if she forgot to use her magic to open the door before she stormed out. :lol:

 

Oh, and what the hell was Pinkie even trying to do with that yarn ball there?

 

Are there any scenes that you can think of that could have been funnier, but missed out?

Scene in "Winter Wrap Up" where Twilight is waking up the critters & freaks out when she sticks her head into the snakes' nest.  Would have been perfect if she had used the line from Indiana Jones "Snakes! Why does it always have to be snakes?!"

"S2 E14 Last Round Up"  Scene where Pinkie finds AJ in the outhouse.  After, she realizes she still has to go & runs off.  I'd have her scream "Potty Emergency!" & dive into the outhouse.  Somebody is already in there & yells "Occupied!" & Pinkie screams "You can share!" They explode outward screaming "I want my Mommy!" as they run off & Rarity commenting "That's going to take them years and  years of therapy to deal with."

This is cheating a bit, as I actually thought the scene in question was pretty bad. But I did think the first part of the episode was gold and the rest could have been as well, if only...

 

I thought the scene from A Friend in Deed (season 2) where Pinkie Pie first meets Cranky the donkey could have been MUCH funnier if Cranky had been comically responsible for his own suffering at Pinkie Pie hands/hooves, instead of Pinkie Pie just being clueless and inconsiderate. If, say, Cranky had demanded a new wig "as fast as possible," ignoring and shouting over Pinkie Pie trying to warn him what the fastest way is, and then Pinkie had climbed up a flag pole and yelled it to the entire town, that would have been funny. Having her do it just because it's the worst move she could have made comes across as head-slappingly dense and mean spirited.

She says she goes out of her way to get them tickets to the show, and that they repay her by abandoning her (by seeing said show.)

Still i always felt that Rarity beat herself up over it to much in this scene  

and she even took them to it after all

In Tanks For the Memories, the scene where Twilight gets hit in the face with the giant snowball.  If she had said "Winter is coming", it would have been better (surprised the writers don't watch Game of Thrones)

 

Also, the more I think of it the more I wonder "Why didn't she just put up her shield?"

 

She does say winter is coming. M.A. Larson is at least familiar with it.

Sorry for the delay in replying.  I meant to rewatch the episode, but I just haven't gotten to it.  I'll take your word for it.  What happened? 

 

I don't channel surf, but I do read while watching TV.  (It used to drive my father nuts).  I don't watch Game of Thrones, the line must have just zipped past me.  Sat Night Live had a GOT sketch that night & I said "Hey, that would be a good line."  My mind is always doing things like that to me.  IDKY my mind hates me, I've never done anything to it -or with it (according to my father). 

In short, my bad.  Sorry.  Still, IDKY she didn't shield against it.

Brotherhooves Social When the other Crusaders tell Apple Bloom "That's your brother in a dress", have Big Mac show up & say "enope" Later, reveal it was Twilight in disguise w an illusion spell.

In "The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone", Pinkie leaves Gummy to finish up her cake, but he ends up not doing it. I think it would've been way funnier if he actually finished the cake. It'd make sense too, considering Gummy has more intelligence than we think.

The Sheer level of wrong in this post is astounding, Rarity Takes Manehattan is entirely about Rarity's Generosity, the whole freaking plot revolves around Rarity being generous toward Suri and Suri taking advantage of that generosity, and then how that shakes Rarity's world view and how else she reacts to that, and then later how she makes amends with her friends.

Well I feel this way about a lot of recent MLP episodes. There's a lot of episodes that had potential but went down in the dumps.

 

I guess Power Ponies could be one. I mean this was the best time to show how awesome Spike could change for the better and he just becomes the sidekick he was always meant to be.
