best video games played

The best and probably my favorite game of all time is Shadow of the Colossus. The game's storyline focuses on a young man named Wander who enters a forbidden land. The game is unusual within the action-adventure genre in that there are no towns or dungeons to explore, no characters with which to interact, and no enemies to defeat other than the colossi. The soundtrack was also widely praised. The game won several awards for its audio, design, and overall quality. Shadow of the Colossus is also referenced numerous times in debates regarding the art quality and emotional perspectives of video games.

The Ultimate DOOM.

It has fast paced action that takes you through fights of a million different monsters. Not only do you have to try and defend yourself from the demons and zombies, but also try and figure out your way through complex mazes.

Also, let's not forget about the mods that bring a bunch of replay value to the game. Lots of new map packs, new monsters, new weapons, new anything. Heck, I seen some role-playing mods for DOOM.

I have a list, 24 games long, on my profile. These are the top three:

1. Borderlands

2. Team Fortress 2

3. Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.

If this were a question of the most addicting video game I have ever played, it is definitely League of Legends.

I'm just a "teeny" bit of a PS1/N64 era FF and Zelda fanboy, so my list is heavily influenced by those two series.

1) Final Fantasy 7

2) Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

3) Final Fantasy 9

4) Final Fantasy 10

5) Final Fantasy 11

6) World of Warcraft

7) Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Honorable mentions: Xenogears, Xenosaga, Chrono Cross, Zelda: Wind Waker, Zelda: OoA/OoS, Zelda: Link's Awakening, Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy 14, Goldeneye, Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 64.

The best game I've played (in my opinion) was Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. It hit all the right notes to me, and I'm a huge fan of its battle system

My other favourites are:

Super Mario World

Super Smash Bros for 3DS (haven't played Wii U version yet)

Zelda: Twilight Princess

Super Paper Mario (one of my first games ^_^)

Zelda: Majora's Mask

Zelda: A Link to the Past

Kirby Super Star

Donkey Kong Country (only played the first)

And some others that I can't recall at the moment. :)

Personally, I prefer to play the role playing fantasy games and some of the older first person shooters.
As for best games of those genres i have played, they are:

RPFG:
- Sacred (1 and 2)

- Diablo (1 and 2)

- Dungeon Siege (1 and 2)

- Gothic (1 and 2, never got to finish the third or fourth ones)

- Neverwinter Nights

- Baulder's Gates

- icewind Dale

- Betrayal at Kronder

FPS:

- Half-Life

- F.E.A.R

- Second Sight (though that is more of a 3rd Person Action/Adventure game)
- Clive Barker's: Jericho

- Bioshock

- Fallout 3 (took me one whole week of not sleeping or eating properly and solid game playing to finish this game with all achievements)

- Dishonored

- Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Why?

Well because...

1. It has the largest map in the series.

2. The storyline is incredible.

3. CJ's lines are hillarious.

4. The lines said on the radio stations are some of the funniest lines I've ever heard. "Yo. This is MC Shithead." Lol. I still remember that line to this very day,

5. Oh yeah. And of course this...

One of my favorites still remain as

Age of Empires II, one of my favorite RTS games and one that I never get bored of. There is so much variety, 13 civilizations in the game alone, 18 civilizations with the expansion back "the conquerors" (what most people play) and the HD expansion packs brings it to a whopping total of 23 civilizations. And obviously each one has at least one unique unit and their unique abilities. The game is a bit slow to start but once you hit the second age (feudal age) the ball really starts rolling. It's provided me with endless fun.

And of course World of Warcraft, there's a lot of hate for this game but I've been playing this game for 8 long years and still have no plans for quitting. It does enough to keep me interested

Favorite series:

Castlevania

Wild Arms

Kingdom Hearts

Sonic the Hedgehog

Shin Megami Tensei

Baten Kaitos

Souls series

Favorite single games:

Planescape: Torment

XCOM: Enemy Unknown

Tales of Graces F (Why not the series? Because Graces outranks the shit out of all of them.)

Anarchy Reigns

---

Favorite games lists tend to be difficult because I've played so many games. I can't always remember them all and there's a lot of games I loved the concept of but not so much the execution. There's also a lot of games I've only played some of and love but haven't played enough to really say I like the game as a whole. Whaddaya gonna do? :P

I've been a gamer my whole life, and I've had several generations of console gaming. That being said, the Halo and GTA series have to be my favorites. Great storylines, fun multiplayers, and just in general well built games.
