Lisa 5,553 January 11, 2015 Share January 11, 2015 Practice. That's all I can say. There's no "cheat" to get better. If there was some sort of cheat to get better, everyone would be doing it. You simply just keep drawing ponies, correcting mistakes over and over till you become good. ;p
Wingnut 7,001 January 11, 2015 Share January 11, 2015 Hi @lync. Since you're seeking help with making pony drawings instead of seeking critiques on finished pieces, I'm moving this thread to Creative Resources. You'll get more helpful posts here and best of luck.

Ragland Tiger 3,420 January 11, 2015 Share January 11, 2015 Go here: http://mlpforums.com/topic/102183-tutorial-and-reference-resource-center/ or here: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2013/06/tutorial-codex.html#more And here's a nice step-by-step to start with: http://affinitypony.deviantart.com/art/The-Pony-Drawing-Guide-for-Everypony-2nd-Ed-441975093
Iris_ 136 January 11, 2015 Share January 11, 2015 Go look at the stuff Ragland Tiger linked, and if that isn't enough help, try to find some more reference somewhere else. Find reference that is the same or similar to what you are trying to draw, and then practice drawing it. The better the reference the better your drawing is going to look as well. I couldn't find a lot but I also am not entirely sure of what kind of pose you want. Maybe the pose rainbow dash is in in this image might help? http://i.imgur.com/tKkiDSV.jpg
Petrus 696 January 11, 2015 Share January 11, 2015 You could also just look at different angles of a pony as a reference. §I Was Born Awesome, Not Perfect§

Melon Blitz 423 January 11, 2015 Share January 11, 2015 I think a lot of artists know they need to practice, they just don't know how to. For fun, you can just try drawing poses you like from the show. If you're doing it traditionally in real life and not on the computer, using a mirror to flip your drawing around can really help you see mistakes easier. http://nogonip.tumblr.com
