I can't say for sure I prefer them to the originals, because I haven't heard them, but I love Jimi Hendrix's covers of Bob Dylan songs. In any case, could the original really be better? After all electric guitar > harmonica.

Anything by PelleK is pretty much awesome in my book. His covers are absolutely amazing. <3 Not to mention he's literally my hero, and he knows it too! I've told him he was, and I've also told him why. He read what I said and told me some very comforting words... anyway, I will say that my most favorite cover of his is Be Prepared from the Lion King. He's absolutely adorable when he does the Hyenas voice and really hot when he does Scar's voice at times. <3 That man is literally the most amazing thing ever, and I absolutely adore him. <3

My favorite cover of all time by far is Ensiferum's cover of Bamboleo by Gipsy Kings.

Ensiferum's cover:

Ensiferum is a symphonic/melodic death metal band, and I think they chose the perfect song to make a cover of. I absolutely love both versions of the song, and the original song has an inherent intensity and exuberance to it that translates over very well to death metal.
