I come to every fandom late.  When I started watching Sherlock, they already had two seasons.  Doctor Who had six, the Walking Dead three, and both The Office and HIMYM had run through entirely.  As such, it's a very rare thing for me to watch a season of a favorite show as its being aired, instead of working my way through archived episodes on Netflix.  I always find that first "live" season, though, when you finally experience the show simultaneously with the rest of the fandom community, to be a thrilling experience, that final confirmation of fandom membership and inclusion.

I started watching MLP last summer.  Season 5 will be my first "live" season of the show, and I am more excited than I have ever been about ponies, friendship, and color schemes.

What was your first "live" season of MLP, and what did it feel like to you?

I started to watch the show in August 2013 so season 4 was my first live season.

It's just so great to know that there will be a new episode on the weekend! :D (especially when you don't know what it's going to be about)

Please, don't be afraid to talk to me. I am not as unapproachable, as you might think.

Season 2 was my first live season, I believe around when 'Lesson Zero' aired.

It was pretty cool but the whole Ditzy Doo controversy thing was annoying.

Season 3 was my first live Season. I'm always stunned by how fast time flies too. It's been two years since Magical Mystery Cure aired.

I started watching the show in February of 2012 in the break between A Friend in Deed and Putting Your Hoof Down.

Since I didn't have the hub (or discovery family now) at the time I mare-a-thoned every single episode released at the time, starting with Friendship is magic Part 1 all the way A Friend in Deed online. I had to wait a little bit and then saw PYHD on the internet and continued watching it that way until season 2 was over. (This summer I managed to get the Hub and still have the channel so I saw Season 4 on tv) But since I came midway into season 2 and season 3 had episodes such as Too Many Pinkie Pies, Magic Duel, Wonderbolts Academy and Magical Mystery Cure which were what really got me invested in MLP FIM. And considering Season 3 was the first season I saw all the episodes released on the day they were, I consider it to have been my first live season.

My first season I watched simultaneously with its release was season 4. It was watching it on youtube as that is as close to "live" as I'm going to get since I don't have cable or know anybody that has the channel that MLP airs on.

Season 5 would be my first live season. Though I watched some parts of the Season 4 finale on TV when it first aired.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

Season 5. I know that thrill that you're talking about with the live airing in a fandom. I experience it with Gravity Falls, whenever a new episode ends, everyone rushes onto the GF forums and barrages it with all their theories and ideas about the episode - a few after it finished. Also it's hilarious to see that half- hour timespan where there were no posts, followed by a massive influx.

I only discovered the show a few months ago, so season 5 will be my first- hopefully, I'll have finished off season 4 by then ^_^ And have found a way to actually watch it live...  >_>

I watched the first four seasons on Netflix so season 5 will be my first live season.  I am SUPER excited.  I just can't wait.  I don't remember the last time, if ever, I was so pumped up for an upcoming TV season premier.  I don't even what to type except to say, "Yay, ponies!"  PONIES!!  I squee just thinking about watching FiM live.  :pinkie:

I started watching FiM within literally the last couple of weeks or so of Season 1's airing. I don't think I caught any live until the beginning of Season 2, but I could be wrong.
