WHY does Rainbow Dash have self-worth issues?

Not all characters need to have a reason to be the way they are though.

Pretty sure it would make Rainbow Dash much more complex and deserving of her popularity if she had some kind of issue like this though.

Also I don't agree she deserves anything, she already is pretty popular anyway.

You must not put much thought into her character if you don't think she's complex.

Her character is fine, when they tried to make her have a soft side it looked terrible like they were trying too hard. With the current authors she might end up looking bad like that.
