Sol was the one I was best at--basically I just charged all cpu opponents. Though, I liked playing Eddie, Chipp, and to a lesser degree Zappa and Ky, too.

Disagree completely. It as fighting game as you can get(and is still seen at many high-profile fighting tournaments), it's just completely different from traditional fighting games

I'm pretty terrible at fighting games(although I do well enough on Soul Calibur). Except for Smash Bros. I could play that for days, and play it very well. It's pretty much the only fighting game I actively enjoy playing.
At least, until Pokken Tournament comes out.

It can be either. Cool thing about Smash Bros is that it's a completely different idea from a traditional fighting game, but it's still a fighting game in play.

 

Also, the competitive Melee community is insane at coming up with all these different strategies and techniques, and Smash Bros is often big at high-level tournaments with 3 different games that can be played well competitively. (Melee, Project M, Wii U)
