Starting with Inkscape

Hey everypony !   I started to use inkscape(ponyscape) 2 weeks ago and I finally understood enough stuff to actually draw something with it.

I used pictures from the show to draw, though. I want to make 5 like that in total before drawing again without a reference.

 

First one : (no cutie-mark, though)

 

 

 

 

 

Second one : Applebloom

 

 

 

 

 

I'm still working on the shading for Applebloom, but it's very late so I'll finish tomorrow with a clearer mind .

That's actually pretty damn good! They look exactly like the show's style! Good job man!

 

P.D: I dishonorably downloaded Illustrator for free. Gotta learn how to use it now.

@@Shadow Beam, Thanks !   I'm glad all this work was worth the cost, I've been looking for the best methods to draw in the long term and sometimes it's really frustrating to try hard to draw something the hard way when I could just use powerstrokes. :okiedokielokie:

Edited the main post. Applebloom shading done .

It's only the second out of the five drawings, though, so it's not quite perfect yet, I'll work on it.

What do you think of it overall though ?

I'm not familiar with Inkscape compared with Illustrator(The latter I got from a Student License).

Inkscape, or Ponyscape, seemed better to be honestly. A lot of tutorials, and a lot of potential.

But most of all, it looked like the faster way to draw ponies, and seeing that some people were able to draw a pony in 20/30mn convinced me considering the 8/10 hours I usually spent when using GIMP.

Honestly, the software drove me mad so many times that I don't even count anymore, but once you have acquiered the mechanics, it's pretty cool.
