I know it's unlikely to the point of impossible, but what if Fluttershy's friend turns out to be Sunset Shimmer? Fluttershy could be helping to reintroduce the NEW Sunset to Equestrian society. 

This could actually make sense, since they can now open the portal at any given time.

Well, it could make sense, but since Megan McCarthy doesn't want any crossover by now, then I honestly think it wouldn't be the case. That's a shame, since Sunset Shimmer is a really cool character.

 

Also, maybe could we really see Maud in this episode, but not as a main character in this one, but maybe just as a background or secondary character (all just like the rest of the Mane-6, since this episode seems more Fluttercord related: remember Tanks for the Memories, we didn't see any Mane-6 but Rainbow Dash during the whole episode, excepted for a few minutes)

Just looked at it and it doesn't spoil much since we barely know anything about the friend

I can't wait for this episode because Fluttershy (my favorite Mane 6 pony) is the Mane 6 star of this episode and Discord is making his first appearance of Season 5. Not only that, its the first episode after 2 weeks of no new MLP episodes.

Even though I don't do pre-episode predictions, I've got a good feeling that we may see Tree Hugger potentially joining the ranks of Coco and Maud as fan favourite characters after the episode goes to air.
