Well.... I'm concerned. I've always been interested in the FNAF series because of the story, especially because of how well it's hidden and sprinkled throughout the games. I thought the games had a great conclusion at the end of the third game. With the addition of a fourth?

 

If it's a sequel, i fear it will feel like an unnecessary addition. The story has, more or less, come full circle.

 

If it's a prequel, well, there's not much of the story left to be shown. Yes, we could see, say, the bite of '87, but there's no need for it. There's no way the bite could be scarier or more interesting than the image the fanbase has conjured up.

 

I'm not saying it will be bad, I'm just cautious.

I am generally interested in how Scott will be tackling this game and where the story will go since I felt the story ended quite comfortably in FNAF 3. As others have said, I hope nothing is retconned from the previous games, but I doubt Scott would do that since he still has a rich breeding ground to establish something from. I would hope that the longer development time would allow for plenty of innovation in gameplay and design despite Scott still being a one man team.

YAAAAAY I AM SO HYPED   (I was pretty late to the FNAF party so I was a bit worried that the fandom etc would die before I got a chance to catch up, I'm still on FNAF2 atm )

 

In terms of story...I agree that the third game was a good ending so hopefully this one doesn't retcon anything, but it'll be interesting to see if it's a sequel or prequel? I'd probably rather see a prequel, but a sequel that reveals more backstory would also be good!

 

Do you guys think the new animatronic is Freddy, or Springtrap, or something new entirely/a hybrid of some sort? I'm not sure what I think...it would be cool to see a hybrid since that's what a lot of people thought Springtrap was at first, but the hat suggests (something like) Freddy...? IDK, guess we'll just have to wait for more info

As much I found the FNAF trilogy very interesting. A fourth game just seems completly unnecessary. Sure, it could be great if handled well, but still.

 

On the subject of the film, as a long as its treated more like a genuine horror film(such as Ringu, The Babadook, Oculus) and less like a cheap-jump-scare film(such as Annabelle, Paranormal Activity and Ouija) then it could be very good.

 

Personally, I always felt Five Nights At Freddy's worked best as a novel.

Well, looks like I'll have to delay my review of the Five Nights At Freddy's series. XD

 

But I'll be honest, what more can they add to the story at this point? It's fine as it is. Oh, and expect 5 & 6. Why? It claims to be 'The Final Chapter', which to me says it's the final part of the games' lore, but we'll probably see games taking place in the two restaurants we never saw, and others that were around at the same time as the one in the second game. :/

I for one am excited for Five Nights 4 mainly because I wanna see what route they take, since the 3rd game featured a location shown in the future and it showed only one animatronic which was possessed by a certain someone shown in all the games. I wonder if they'll go forward or backward with whatever is involved with Five Nights 4. Personally I think they'll go back.

I thought it should've ended with the third game, because it basically covered mostly everything.
