The last thing a fandom needs is some kind of 'leader'. Personally I think even having any kind of celebrity worshipping of someone in a fandom is a bad enough idea on its own, a 'leader' would be taking that to the maximum.

I didn't think we had a leader. I thought we were an autonomous collective.

Perhaps we should be a narcocynicallist commune, where we take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the fandom. But all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at bi-weekly meetings, by a civil majority purely in the case of internal affairs, but by a two-thirds majority in the case of more major affairs.

 

(If there's a permanent leader, Or maybe even a dictator, I may feel as though I'm being... Repressed ;_; )

The closest thing we have had would be the creator of FIM Lauren Faust who even if she was still involved in the show wouldn't be our "leader" and probably wouldn't want to be anyway. I am glad we don't have a "leader" and we never needed one anyway.

If anything, Bonnie Zacherle is the 'leader' of the fandom. She created the original My Little Pony. 

We wouldn't have FiM as it is now if it weren't for her. Provided, it did get worse before it got better.
