Before my friend introduced me to MLP I was moderating/administrating 2 minecraft servers. I kind of lost interest in them when i discovered MLP, then i found the forums and nearly abandoned them completely. (Also my schedule got ridiculously busy, but it's normal again.)

When MLP started I had NO idea of its existence, i kinda wish I did. I was going through some of the worst times of my life.

The only online community that I participated in was Hacker News. That was it. And I mostly just lurked there.

 

I had absolutely no social life either online or offline. (Never was good at picking up friends either at school or on the job.)

 

Yeah, discovering ponies has revolutionized my existence.

Hated my life basically. At the time I was with my crazy, controlling, psycho ex-girlfriend. I had little friends. And I was afraid of everything. Never talked much really..

 

One day I decided to facebook message a "" to Flitter (never talked to her before hand), just because I was afraid of everything and trapped and needed a way out. She insisted I watched the show, and so I did.

 

I later dumped my girlfriend and started dating her. And we are still more than happily together now <3

I'm not much different before than I am now(I do tend to be a bit nicer on the internet now though), but I do recall finishing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword pretty much the same time I started watching MLP at the end of November, and let me tell ya that it was a great experience going from one great piece of entertainment to another like that...

I played video games, watched TV (before I got tired of the crap on it now), read, wrote and drew a little, and had little to no online social life off of deviant art. If it weren't for ponies I would probably still be in the same cycle I had been in for a long time.

I go to college and I'm looking for a degree in chemistry at the moment. Still doing that... some of my favorite shows are American Dad and It's Always Sunny, two shows that are positively dripping with cynicism. I'm not cynical myself but it's a lot of laughs imagining people who actually act as horribly as the characters in those shows. I guess I get something different from Friendship is Magic, something that gives me a hug and whispers "smiling in public doesn't make you gay." Something that's just as well-written and humorous as my other favorite shows but while somehow remaining wholesome. That is NOT an easy task, just ask any stand-up comedian. I have been sick of sarcasm since the age of Hot Topic mall goths, aka like 12 years ago, and I'm only 22 right now. I still love those shows but it's nice to see something genuinely optimistic in the world. All I can say is that I don't own two action figures from American Dad, but I certainly have Rarity and Fluttershy.

Aside from my hobbies, I used to play a lot of video games on the PC, and before I got my own PC I used to watch TV. I mostly watched comedy shows like The Simpsons and The Big Bang Theory. Then about a year ago I joined a forum for people with my interests, and then I felt like I was lifted to a whole new level and I started seeing everything differently. Also I spent a lot of time on YouTube.

 

The next time I felt like the world was changing around me, was when I found MLP .

I did only play games and played WoW for maybe 7 hours a day. MLP have made me not play games for that long anymore, I feel more secure for some reason... I think I realisied something when I watched the show, that I need to do other stuff too, not just hide in my room all day.

 

I also do better on school and are happy almost all the time

Uh, lets see. I was a complete TF2 demon, I would spend nearly every second of my spare time playing it. I was also a Youtubian who specialised in locating the most obscure, random videos. I was a memebase browser as well, now I only venture into that area for the "My Little Brony" section. My life was...boring. Honest to god it was the pinnacle of boring. But now I have ponies and I cannot think about how I managed to live without this show and its fanbase.

I was a varsity Tennis player at my college for some time, I also led the anime club...but even with MLP in my life I still do these things, I think I'm a lot more outgoing (socially so) than I was before due to MLP though.
