It looks good, but just in case, I'm waiting until I've been able to see a bit more before I upgrade.

Also, it's still free after the 29th, right?

I actually tested the Insider Preview on my laptop a couple months ago. Despite the bugs that were present because beta, it was actually a nice and fast OS, even despite how crappy my laptop is :P

I switched back to Windows 7 because I didn't know whether the Win10 preview users gets the full version, although after reinstalling it and all the updates, I don't have the "reserve" thingy on there. I can understand on my desktop, since I haven't done the 8.1 update yet, but my laptop is running Windows 7, and not even the Enterprise version, so I dunno what's going on.

I reserved my copy as soon as I my notification popped up.  Now I'm just sitting here on the 30th...waiting for the ability to install Windows 10...

Am I missing something?

Windows 10 isn't set to release until July 29, 2015. One more month :P

I have found my problem.  I was reading the release as "Ju-- 29, 2015".  Whoops.

Windows 10 will be alright. I was going to reinstall 8.1 to rid my machine of some of this crapware I've got on it, but what's the point when this is being released in less than a month? I still wish they called it Windows Nine... If it turned out to be garbage, we could have all called it Windows Nein, right? :P

(To be honest, I wonder if that's the real reason that they skipped a number...)

They skipped "9" since Microsoft pronounced it "10" is a better opportunity to do with the system's service. :)

Windows 10 is likely close to being finished after my birthday by 1 day, according to this site that today Microsoft has released a third build of the insider program is 10162 for a stability progress and better performance.

It includes the new Windows background logo there too, and I say it's "beautiful"!  :D

Windows 10 will be free to upgrade to for one year. So, yes! :D

Sure. It's free and I've always upgraded to new Windows versions shortly after release. Never had an issue other than the general slowness that was the initial release of Vista. Also picked up a touch screen laptop recently so it should be a nice pairing.

No, not a fan...

To me, modern OS's have become less user driven, and more AI driven.

That's what I loved about XP, (and still love today!)

You boot it up, and you have a tool to do what you want with it.

It's not bloated with "helpful AI integration" and complexity.

I prefer just a simple and proper interface, that allows me to do what I need to do,

and has a lightweight feel to it.

I'm not a fan of touchscreens, I don't own a smartphone (I still use a LAN line)

And I'm not a fan of a start menu that doesn't offer the options of my current one.

I hate live tiles, I hate being bombarded with advertisements, I'd much rather just

stick simplistic. (Not only that, but don't even get me started on the backdoors/privacy concerns

with both 7/8/and 10. It's VERY "NSA" friendly)

I guess when it comes down to it, I just have different needs.

I grew up on windows 95/98...and to me, XP still maintains that feel in a way

that other operating systems don't.

No offense to those who like it, everyone's entitled to their own opinions.

But as for me? Sticking with what I got, and happy to do it.

After Windows 10 has arrived at July 29th, you're introduced to Microsoft Edge as a new Internet Explorer browser and with Office 2016 (on my computer/laptop I use Office 2007). Of course I love that new Internet browser when upgrading to Windows 10!  :D

An upgrade is free for just only one year.

Note when you're using the Insider Preview, a notification can be get at September 15th upon expiration at October 1st then it's time for you to upgrade to a newer OS version such as the launch of Windows 10.

It's already Windows 10 day in Asia.

So close... So close that I can practically see my computer running Windows 10 as my main OS. So hype!

Just saw this on WinBeta's website.

If your main drive has a folder named "$Windows.~BT" in it (You'll have to enable the ability to view hidden files and folders) then Windows 10 has already been preloaded onto your PC and it's just waiting for the July 29th upgrade window.

Tomorrow when upgrading to Windows 10, I'm introduced to a branded start menu with live tiles, Microsoft Cortana as a personal digital assistant, and Microsoft Edge as the new fastest internet browser.

With that operating system, it's much faster like Windows 8 and 8.1 well not like Windows Vista and 7!  :D

I just have one question for this update: Will I still have all my files and all my software after it finishes upgrading?

Yes. It will put all of your personal data onto a separate partition until the upgrade is completed. After that, it'll put everything back but, just to be safe, make a backup.

It's Here! :D Check your "Get Windows Now" app to see if your Windows 10 is ready to be setup.
