Would Princess Celestia have difficulty getting into a car? She's quite a big pony.

You a human, have your car in Equestria (powered by magic or something magical)... well average sized car.

Princess Celestia: My dear little human, can I get inside your car for a drive?

What do you say?

I think she'd be fine. Most cars are designed for people ranging from 5 1/2 feet to 6 feet give or take, and assuming the math in this chart is right, Celestia would just barely be as tall as the average human. She might have to duck lest she bump her horn against the roof, but getting into a car wouldn't be that big an issue.

A bigger concern would be the fact that she's a quadruped and might not be comfortable in the front seat. I could see her lounging across the back seats though. Buckling her in would be an entirely different matter altogether.

She'd probably fit if you laid the seat all the way back and let her lay on it.

She doesn't need to reach the pedals or the wheel, as she could operate them with magic.

See, the neat thing about the FIM universe is that we have no frame of reference with respect to proportions.  (I guess I'm disregarding EG, but it's a different dimension anyway, so I think my logic holds up)  The ponies could be any size relative to us.  We have no way to know.  We assume they're, what, three feet tall?  And Tia is about six?  Like normal horse size?  But the thing is, the FIM universe could be in a galaxy on Orion's "belt" for all we know.  Their whole world might fit in the palm of our hand.  Or we might be the ones whose galaxy is completely contained within a jewel in Rarity's bureau.  Or they might just be fifty feet tall or something.  No way to know.  If the proportions are about what we assume, then I think Celestia's shape would make it difficult for her to fit in a vehicle designed for bipeds.  The laying on the back seat thing might work.

This is what would happen:

I think it is about time car manufacturers took princess ailerons into consideration for their next designs, just think how disgraceful it would appear if we had to shove her into some trailer and tow her around!

This is your best topic yet.  I genuinely mean that.

I would respond with, "I haven't got a car."  And, were I feeling bold, I might point out to her that she has wings.  Not intending to embarrass her, of course.  Just...  Why ride / drive when you can fly?

Depends how big the car is. Princess Celestia is not a little pony.

If it's a Mini Cooper or a Beatle, yes.

If it's, say, a hummer, I doubt she would fit in the front but she could probably get in the back. Of course, you would probably need to push the front seats forward and she would have to lay across the back seats. Make sure she keeps her wings folded up or she'll probably cause a crash. And make sure she buckles up, it's the law!

Alternatively, use a convertible. I probably should have said before. Or just let her fly.

Friendship isn't always easy. But it's definitely worth fighting for.

I remembered that there is a human-pony size comparison analysis chart somewhere, and according to it an alicorn is actually slightly shorter than an average sized human, so apparently she would fit.

Just letting you know that I moved this topic to Forum Lounge as the thread idea seems a little random and not exactly sitting of a discussion for Sugarcube Corner.

Thanks. :)

I feel she would, as many charts say she is shorter than the average person, but if that were wrong, I would just have her lay down in the back, and that would hopefully be pretty comfortable for her.

Viewing multiple charts using the few height variables in the Show, I'd say Celestia was 4"10. If she sat down like an average human, her horn may or may not poke through the roof depending on the height of the car. The average car is about 1.4-1.6 meters, taking away the suspension necessary would make it a pretty hard guess. I'd have to say yes though. Of course, that is just the front.

She probably wouldn't be able to fit into a fancy sports car like a Ferrari, or any other two seated car, since her horn would most likely poke through the roof of the car.

In the average car? Most Likely, yes. In a Ferrari Testarossa? No
