Anyone here like to workout and eat healthy or would like help on where to start with a healthier lifestyle?

I am looking for support and motivation for myself or anyone else who needs it!

What do you like to do to stay active?

What are your favorite healthy foods?

To be honest I rarely exercise for the sake of exercising, but I stay in decent shape by playing sports and not eating all that much. For healthy foods I love wheat toast, beans and broccoli :)

3 Sets 10 Reps Every day of

Squats
Push ups

Pull ups.
Muscle ups

Weights
Crunches

Do it everyday and your metabolism will go up
You will probably be sore but it is worth it.

Eat A lot of Lean Meats, Greens, milk, water, protein.
Indulge once every month for your favorite food that is not healthy.
or Just stick to all healthy.
MEATS ARE REQUIRED PERIODICALLY FOR BETTER MUSCLE AND SMALL AMOUNTS OF PROTEIN!

Why do I settle for people that force me to pick up the pieces?

That is my problem too! I lose interest every time and this time I'm determined to stay motivated by finding others to inspire or be inspired by!

What do you suggest for starting with weights? Should you be eating more on days with weight training?

I lift everyday and play 4 sports and I'm on a pretty strict diet so if you need any help with techniques or motivation just ask me anytime.

What does your daily diet usually consist of?

@@capricornfitness, Yes
Start out from the easiest you can do keep increasing till it gets starts to get difficult once it reaches that point continue on that amount of weight for a little while than start to increase.
And yes you will want to have more protein so more Lean Meats(Bigger Servings) when you do weights. But don't over stuff or over eat/

I eat a lot of lean proteins and fruits and vegetables, but the most important thing is to drink lots of water. I drink at least a gallon a day it's the most important thing to do for good health.

starting with weights?

If I were you, I'd start with bodyweight exercises before using free weights. One, you can do 'em anywhere; two, they put less pressure on your joints to begin with (assuming that you aren't overweight); and three, they are more useful in real life situations (parkour! :) ) than benching a ton of weight. And, at least for me, they are funner. More fun. Whatever the grammer book says.

Yeah, my first week I started with 5 lb weights and wasn't really sure when to move up.

I could most certainly do with getting more exercise. My school experience of sport wasn't especially positive. Not because I dislike sport but because there were a lot of elitist [unsavory types] who could be very judgmental when it came to sport to the point where I would purposefully do poorly so I'd be moved to the class where my friends happened to be. I regularly do basic muscle exercises like sit-ups, press-ups, etc to bring my adrenaline up.

My main problem now is cardioid work. 3 main problems.

1. I lack the space in my home to get my body moving properly without knocking over bits of audio equipment. Even just jogging on the spot is problematic because it's not very intense and it makes a lot of noise which I worry about disturbing my neighbour who lives below me.

2. I tend to find exercise kind of embarrassing, probably stemming from the elitist [unsavory types] mentioned above.

3.  At this point of my health, moderate to heavy cardioid work makes me start to feel sick and VERY breathless. My heart starts to beat very heavily. Each 'pump' of my heart feels very large.

I know from experience that engaging in just an hour or so of running or cross-working machine or something will 'clear the veins' as it were but getting started is the difficult part.

I think my diet is generally well-balanced and healthy. I eat a good amount of fruit and veggies and eat usually fresh and varied meat. However I lack the self-control when it comes to snacks. Large bags of crisps or chocolate are just too darn cheap and there are special offers on all the time so I let the value for money override my health. If a bag of biscuits or crisps are open then it will be consumed very quickly. I snack from boredom a fair bit.

I'm not a medical expert, psychologist, psychiatrist, teacher or love doctor. Take my words with a pinch of salt, yeah?

I am an experienced cook, musician and care worker though, so that's something.

Nice to hear that there are more people interested in fitness here  ^_^

I exercise almost every day. I prefer free weight/body weight training, like deadlifts (which I love  ), squats, bench press, pullups, curls...the whole riddle basicly. I also do cardio, I don't really like it but I should definitely be doing more of it. I've started doing strongman exercises, like flipping tires and carrying rocks. It's very tough and effective...I don't recommend eating like a strongman though, if you care about how you look and not just getting stronger  ^_^

My diet isn't complicated, I avoid palm oil and artificial sweeteners. I regulate the amount of saturated fat, salt and sugar I eat, and I make sure I get enough protein and vitamins and all that. I eat a lot of veggies, fruit, fish and chicken in particular. And of course, lots of water  :)

That reminds me of this workout this person made:

Usually, I do an hour of treadmill/bicycling to try to stay in shape... but I don't really balance that with eating healthy so it hasn't worked out for me yet. x)

I completely understand and do workout videos in the comfort of my home. Maybe resistance bands would help with your lack of space?

That's great, such enthusiasm is something I have much respect for :D

One question I have is, do you work out alone, or with a friend?  :)

Best of luck ^.^ I also find myself getting distracted. I say I'm gonna go to the gym but suddenly I realize I need to do something and then something else. I get so off track I end up having to leave for work and not able to go to the gym XD

I do workout videos alone.

On youtube, or? :)

This is just my personal experience, but some of the best advice one can give on keeping the motivation to work out, is going with a friend, or even better, several friends. Few things keep me going like having somebody next to me supporting me on the way. And seeing the results for the first time...then I fell in love with working out, and I've almost never had problems with motivation since  :)

This month I'm doing a program called 21 Day Fix and I have been and will be posting my progress on Instagram.

Hopefully I can inspire others while I learn to love working out.

I go to the fitness three times a week (monday, wednesday and friday), in which I run two times two kilometers (warming up and after-workout fat burning) and do three sets of fifteen reps of a few exercises, it's pretty exhausting but I always manage to push through and do them all. It used to be hard to go to the gym but the trick is to just say "Screw it, I'm going to go RIGHT NOW".

I eat three slices of bread an hour before going, two with meat and one with either chocolate pasta or jam for energy. During working out all I drink is water during my 60-90 second rest and afterwards I drink a bit of soda so I don't pass out and foam out of my mouth, which surprisingly I've seen quite a few people do whenever I'm out in the city or at the beach. Eat well, warm-up, exercise hard, cooldown with some fat burning, go home, eat, repeat. Don't make me put my jacket under you, turn you on your left side, and buy water and coke for you to drink and recover.

On my off-days (tuesday and thursday) I do 100 push-ups, sit-ups and 100 squats. Although they don't do much besides making my chest bigger and everything a little leaner, it does help keep my body relatively in shape. I'm naturally a pretty healthy eater but I'm not someone who constantly checks everything he eats. When I want to eat a chocolate bar I buy one and eat the entire thing. Weekends are a complete rest days, no exercising and just lazing about.

Nah, I get enough work out at my job. Too tired for that after my shift.

I've eating some very shitty junk foods lately and just recently I've notice that it's begun to take its toll ;_;

I do want a healthy body ... but it's a struggle .... to eat healthy and spend a shit load of money, feel horrible, feel pain ... or be lazy, save money and buy cheap shit, watch netflix all day long, and feel good for a little while.

That, my friends, is the question.

I want to at least feel sexy and comfortable again. I guess the best things in life require sacrifice. I once heard a quote. "You wish to know peace, you must first come to know pain."

What kind of work do you do for your job? Is it hurting your body or helping it?

I do home workout videos, which they probably even have some on netflix! It doesn't have to cost a fortune to get healthy!  :)

I'm a courtesy clerk. I bag groceries, clean, collect carts and answer customer's questions. It helps as is evident by the fact that before I was working there I weighed 220, and I now weigh 209, without any change in my diet or exercising habits.
