general media Cringeworthy ads/propaganda.

Well, the title clearly showcases the main idea here.

Post the most embarassing, unbelievably dumb and/or uncalled for exambles of modern propaganda, thereof including anything from political parties, products, and whatever adverticing sins that you can find.

Of course, mind explaining an actual reason to the add in question being posted.

For example, here are a couple of political advertisements that belong to an argentinean socialist party that will partake in the presidential elections.

There's no real need to translate anything, as it only consists in more defamation, it is the bizarre (Somewhat clever, yet very disrespectful) portrayal of the other candidates as The Three Stooges.

And this one, that's not even spanish. It's just some song (I'll throw the dice and say that it's from East Asia) with a false translation over it. Needless to say, that's a legit death star overlaped with the peronist symbol.

Apologies for not picking anything more recognizable for the common attendance of the forums, but they were too good to be ignored.

Cringe-worthy advertising? Two words -- Carl's Jr. I've never seen a fast-food company push sex that much to sell a stinkin' burger. It's advertisements have blatant innuendos that are -- in some cases -- just plain vulgar. You couldn't pay me to eat at that place; it's treats women like no more than the pieces of meat they sell. The ironic thing is that it's original founder was a Roman Catholic.

Geico commercials. All of them nowadays. They basically come up with something completely random and then just slap their catchphrase to the end of it. They never detail their services, they never try to entice to the service, they apparently think they are soooo good that all they need to do is come up with something as stupid as possible, add cringing humor, but all it needs is the catchphrase and boom, awesome ad. I really don't get it.

I've seen a number of those adds. There's no possible way to describe how much of a outrageous trasvesty they are, the worst of it all being that it does sway a big portion of customers into attending to their branchs. Marketing 'geniuses' apparently believe that the mixture of sexual dehumanization along with their products can lead to untold success. The most contemptible fact being that, indeed, it works.

Nowadays society really should set its priorities and limitations.

Any commercials that have minions in them, or bad internet memes. It can get really bad..

True dat.

Don't worry, Geico isn't the only company that opts for employing that sort of idiotic modus operandi. And I'm not only talking about american propaganda, we have it rough as it is with our own.

I would have Geico for the rest of my life if I never had to watch another one of their awful commercials.

I think my favorite slogan ever used by a company that I recall is "Brown knows" by UPS. How that was EVER approved is beyond me.

Have you seen Japanese stuff? There's some pretty surreal commercials.  I think I would rather not post a video, and perhaps leave it up to you to look it up.

Also, the amount of one-sided sexual objectification of women featured in propaganda and billboards there is quite unnerving. The stuff's everywhere.

The adverts for Sonic Colours were really cringeworthy where I live.

At least half, maybe 60% of the anti smoking PSA's. Yes I know smoking is a horrible habit that has some serious potential consequences but some of these PSA's go way too far and simply try to shock and scare their audience with graphic depictions of people with holes in their necks, peoples skin coming off and someone yanking out his own teeth with a pair of pliars to name a few. I know many of the people in these commercials are well intended but I seriously question how effective this is, the fact that these are being done for shock value is so blatantly obvious. The two anti smoking PSA's I detest the most though are this one that I actually mistook for a monster movie when I saw it. It actually made smoking look awesome which makes me question what the hell they were thinking when they made that commercial?

And there is the commercial with these two people who claim they got Collorectal Cancer from smoking which while it is possible makes me question just how likely it is. How likely are you to get ass cancer from smoking cigarettes?

Probably not very, yes lung cancer and emphysema are both likely but ass cancer? There had to have been some other factors at play which caused them to get that which makes the add extremely misleading.

The Ouya commercial that was so awful and disgusting that the company pulled it the minute it showed up on the internet. As if the "console" didn't need any more crap to it(not even gonna post a link to it, just look it up if your curious)

And I still won't let go of that PS3 Baby commercial

Anyone remember not being able to skip this?

I'm sure many people have heard of this one:

Oh oh... Good times.

Ah, I just miss the times where we all just bunched up around the TV and enjoyed pirated movies that were wryly preceded by that awareness clip.

About the second one, well, what can be possibly said but 'that's good ol' american propaganda for ya'

I have to say probably the Progressive ads are among the worst. But it's literally been months since i've watched TV or even had cable, so there could be some quality cringe i'm missing out on.

I thought the anti-smoking PSA's were bad until they started going after "sugary drinks" and using the same scare tactics to get you to stop drinking them. They figure showing close-ups of cancerous lungs worked so well that showing clogged arteries from soda consumption will be just as effective when it's really just shock value. The research also doesn't seem to matter since they're meaning to attack soda when most of them are actually sweetened with corn syrup instead of sugar.

Corn syrup is actually even worse for you than regular sugar though, so if they are going to attack soda on anything it would be much more effective to go after that. That is another example where honesty and common sense would actually make a world of difference. Of course drinking a ton of soda all the time is horrible for you but a little every now and then is okay.

Just as well it is actually shown that scare-tactics dont work as well as simply educating people on what is inside of it. All in all, smoking is still better then alcoholism.

We happen to have a really cool Skittles commercial. I dont know if I can post it though because of the english rules here. It does have subtitles though...

AHHHHHH God XD I hate ads with Minions in them. Everywhere I go THERE IS A GOD DAMN MINION you cannot escape those things! And I don't even hate Minions! It's just the fact that the advertisers think we're so stupid that when we see an easily recognisable minion, we'll buy the product, thinking it's actually minion related. And also needless celebrity appearances. No George Clooney, I do not want to buy whatever you're advertising JUST BECAUSE YOURE IN THE COMMERCIALS!!!!
