Personally I feel like it's canon already whether it officially happens or not, it seems clear to me that this is what Mike and Bryan were going for. I don't get the sense that Korra could ever have a successful relationship with a guy.

We've seen a murder-suicide, a woman being suffocated and another woman blowing up her own face, but same-sex relationships are a big no-no in kids TV for some reason. Please let this happen Nick.

Rant over :please:

Bless you for that rant. Korra is really dark for a "kids show", like I feel like all the death and torture and stuff is much more unsettling to children than *GASP* two women going on a date.

If they don't outright say it though, does that make Korrasami the new Bubbline?

So I'm still not sure how I feel about this book, but I'm pretty sure Zaheer just became my favorite villain of the franchise last episode. Big landmark for Korra, who was once known as a spiritual failure and somebody who ignored her enemies' points, to let down her walls and overcome her problems with the help of her worst enemy yet. And it says a lot about Zaheer that he believes in his ideals enough to assist one of his old foes in accomplishing what he can't do anymore :D. If only that scene had been longer :(

He and Amon are the most sympathetic villains, IMO.

P.S.: Is there an actual afterlife in this series? I mean, there is the Purgatory-like Spirit World, but what about Heaven/Hell, Elysium/Tartarus, etc.?

I’ve been content with season 4 all in all, but the ending made me particular gleeful about the whole series. I wish they just could have made Korra and Asami kiss, so the viewers could see them leaning closer but cutting off the kiss if they worried about the reactions to the show.

All in all, happy about the last episodes :D

That finale was pretty amazing! It couldn't have ended any better, in my opinion. It's hard to believe this journey has finally come to an end. I've been following the Avatar series since I was only ten. Everything good has to come to an end eventually, I suppose. Let's not be sad that it's over, but happy that we got to experience this story together. Now excuse me as I go tearbend some more...

I almost feel bad for the Zhurrick shippers.

The fact that Zhu Li and Varrick actually got married was completely overshadowed by the fact that Korra and Asami held hands and looked at each other in what could easily have been...

Who am I kidding? KORRASAMI CONFIRMED!!! WOOHOO!!!

I watched the ending, and I will get to Korrasami in due time, I will, but frankly I had a very hard time taking anything seriously after the bucking Iron Giant showed up. Seriously, that made no sense, not even no sense in like an "oh well it's spirit magic whatcha gonna do?" sort of way, it was flat-out nonsensical, which sucked because if the ending wasn't so sloppy the final season might actually have been genuinely good. Not "I'll give it a pass because of Avatar" good, really, honestly good.

Now, for Korrasami. I want to be happy, I do, but the fact that they didn't kiss irritates me to no end, and here's why. Korra didn't air on Nickelodeon. It was pulled for being "too dark" and not having good enough ratings. Even with it only airing online, they couldn't do it. They had an easy shot (easier, that is, I do get that these things don't come easy), and they didn't take it.

I joked a few posts ago about how Korra and Assami would be the new Bubbline, but as it stands they can't come close. Adventure Time has done so much more to suggest a romantic relationship between the two members of it's girl/girl ship, making it so obvious that they're together that you'd have to be seriously in denial not to see it, only stopping short of outright saying it because the writers haven't won the fight against their conservative higher-ups yet. Adventure Time is doing more on a major network than Korra could even do on the internet, yet Korra gets all the credit for being groundbreaking because it's "a more serious show".

Thing is though, it's not. Adventure Time is just as deep and complex, but it isn't taken seriously because it's "weird", because it doesn't conform to what the masses have already seen, because it's surrealist. I'm not saying these things make it superior, but they don't make it stupid or unimportant either.

Before I go off on a complete tangent, let me wrap this up. Korra did some really cool things. It had a non-white female protagonist with a muscular, not-stereotypically-feminine body. It wasn't afraid to get dark. It definitely hinted very strongly at a same-sex relationship. But it isn't the only show doing these things, it can't use them as a cover for it's weak points, and honestly, it is way past time we stopped seeing two girls holding hands as controversial.

(P.S. dang my posts have been long lately. I really should work on being more concise...)

Holy shit that was awesome!

Korra was right, it has been a bumpy ride. Not only for her, but also for Mike and Bryan constantly being screwed over by Nickelodeon. Despite that, they actually managed to make something amazing, and I'm glad I was around to experience it. Sure it might not be as good as ATLA overall, but it they managed to make it amazing enough to be my second-favourite show as of today, and it won't be a show I'll forget.

From what I heard, Mike and Bryan have two new IPs, so I'm excited to see what they do next.

Edit: I kind of wish they shown what the fire nation was like in Legend of Korra's time period at some point. I was also kind of disappointed we didn't see what the reeducation camps were like. But whatever, I'm just nitpicking.

I'm tearbending at the fact that the show is over. :( As you can see by my avatar, (of an avatar *shot*) I am a huge Legend of Korra fan, as well as the original series. I was impressed by the action, drama, and all of the humor and feels that the finale was able to offer. I'm not sure if it was as monumental of an ending as ATLA's or not, but I think Korra's journey was every bit as exciting, if not more so. I am very grateful to the dedicated team that put out this amazing series. I won't ever forget it. :)

And I also want to applaud them for taking the risky move that they did in the last couple minutes by making Korra and Asami a legit canon couple. Never did think that any favorite animated show of mine would ever include an explicit same sex couple, but I have no problem with how this show pulled it off. I was silently rooting for it all along given the subtextual hints laced throughout more recent episodes. Just another boundary that this amazing series has pushed, and I approve of it.

I still can't quite believe it's over (not just this series, but maybe Avatar as a whole). Though really, I guess I should just be thankful it happened at all considering this was originally supposed to be a 12-episode miniseries. I can't stand when I see people hate on Korra and/or the show, especially if it's because they're blinded by nostalgia. I feel it was just as high quality original series, and personally, I think it was even better. One thing I can say for certain is that I was never as emotionally invested in The Last Airbender as I was in Legend of Korra. Maybe because TLA characters were younger, maybe because I was younger, or maybe I just relate more to LoK characters, but either way, this series and its incredible people and stories have had a huge, huge impact on me, and I'm genuinely going to miss it.

Oh well, I can still hope for another series, or maybe even LoK comics. We cannot give up hope. For hope... *sniff* is all we have. And we must never relinquish it! Even... *sniff* even to our dying breath! *tearbends*

Thank you, Korra. I truly lost my heart in Republic City.

Just in case there was any doubt (which I doubt there was). A great read either way :)

Again, I have to say that this is one of the ballsiest things I've ever seen someone at Nick too. And I'm glad to see the their decision was very well received

That was a rather interesting and unexpected twist on the whole "the hero always gets the girl" trope, Legend of Korra was much darker than The Last Airbender and they were able to show much more mature themes but out of all the surprises this takes the cake. It may not have shown Korra and Asami making out or anything but you know they were probably doing that (and possibly a few other things if you know what I mean) once the credits started rolling.

Aside from that though the overall message of healing and moving on was a nice way to close out the series. What is most striking is how Korra said that Kuvira reminds her of herself and mentioning the fear and desire for control after being poisoning by Zaheer brought this powerful point home. It seems that fear may have played a role in quite a few villains of this series. Amon feared benders abusing their power and Zaheer feared corrupt leaders abusing their power. It reminds me of Master Yoda's famous line in Star Wars

Posted this in unpopular opinions, thought I'd post it here as well.

The Legend of Korra ending was awful. It was a complete and utter ass-pull, there was no genuine romantic development between the two characters. Its contrived ending was an insult to any one who consider themselves a fan. They said they weren't going to do any more romance, so why squeeze in some during literally the last 45 seconds? What is this, amateur hour? Also, the amount of unanswered questions is sickening. It's clear they were more focused on this one thing and not the whole picture.

The action, story, animation, the world building, the villains, and the fight choreography were brilliant and set a new bar for action cartoons, which are very much a dying breed. THESE are what need to be praised, not a horse crap "progressive" ending that literally only took up 45 seconds of a show with almost 50 episodes.

The ending completely soured the whole series, and I refuse to buy the 4th season to complete my collection. Korra was supposed to be about finding ourselves, finding, focusing, and achieving inner peace, finding the balance within. But no, they had to go and ruin it. A complete disappointment that will forever sour the series.

That whole Korra X Asami thing was kind of forced into the ending which I didn't really like, they should of built the relationship first instead of just forcing it in that's one of the reasons lots of people didn't like it. If people want same-sex couples in TV shows then learn to do it properly and not just do it to prove a radicle point.

(And don't tell me that their relationship was built up because it wasn't, they had nothing more then a normal girl-girl friendship beforehand.)
