The animation looks good. You really only need to work on the time and spacing. Make slower movement at the vertexes, and maybe double certain frames if you need to.

Look up the 12 basic principles of animation, and use references from the show, horses, people, other cartoons, etc. For the default walk cycle however, you're better off mimicking the show's walk cycle, since it's kind of set in stone.

 

Once you're familiar with the principles of animation (which won't happen overnight), try making a walk cycle with a unique mood or personality, such as upbeat, posh, sad, scared, drunk, etc.
