technology What recording hardware/software do you use?

I bought a bunch of recording gear at the beginning of this year, and I want to discuss a little about it.

Note that this thread is mostly aimed towards people who play/commentate games, do podcasts, sing, and record instrumentals.

I use an Audio-Technica AT2005USB mic with Audacity.

I use 'Action! Gameplay Recording and Streaming' on Steam to record my games and the default Movie Maker to edit  and a Tritton Pro+ 5.1 headset for my gameplay channel.

For singing I use the same headset, movie maker and audacity :)

For PC games i use a mixture of Nvida ShadowPlay and Fraps for recording, XSplit Broadcaster for livestreaming. For console stuff i use an Elgato Gamecapture HD.

I have a Blue Yeti microphone which is pretty cool that i use for any voice stuff like commentary, using Audacity for recording the audio.

All my editing is done in Sony Vegas Pro 13

:dash: I used to use audacity and a USB Samson C03U, A standard boom stand and music stand, pop filter and spider mount.

 I haven't used it for years. :pinkie: I will be getting a much more processional set up, for commercial and animation/game auditions in the next year or so.

I have actually been curious about this - I'd like to maybe record me playing my own instruments, but I don't really even know what to get? I know absolutely nothing about this stuff.
