As we all know, Sweetie Belle is good at singing, Scootaloo is good on her scooter, and Applebloom is good at construction and potions. With the recent episode, are these talents now a complete waste?

I think it's a good way to keep the cmc as the cmc and give them their marks as well. Yeah, it was hinted at that what they would get their marks in would be different, but they formed the cmc as a way to try out a ton of things before sweetie belle ever sand, before scootaloo was shown on a scooter, etc. I think they'll always have those things as a passion. Like how Fluttershy was shown to have great knowledge of stitching (Season 1, I forget the name of the episode. The one with the art of the dress song) And yet her talent is taking care of / talking to animals. There's this big debate about whether any pony gets to choose their fate or if it's set in stone from the minute they're born, like what if rainbow dash wanted to be a janitor? Suddenly her name doesnt make sense, but the name came first. Personally, I think the cmc cutie marks are perfect for them

I wouldn't consider it a waste of talent. Cutie mark crusading is quite a talent to have It really is a big deal, discovering your cutie marks and knowing your destiny The CMC will not only be finding cutie marks for others, but they will also be helping them find their destiny. And well, cutie mark crusading is their main talent. But of course, they can have many other talents than this one I mean, it wouldn't be fun only having to have one talent

This is one of the reasons I say "terrible writing" on ending their cutie marks with Cutie Mark Crusaders. It's cute but it does not give any justice to all those other jobs they have had.

Considering each of their cutie marks still represent an aspect of their individuality: no, they aren't a complete waste. Also, being good at something does not equate to a special talent.

The amount of people that seem to disregard the marks within the marks is becoming innumerable.

It's cute but it does not give any justice to all those other jobs they have had.

 I spent 9 years of my life practicing bass and honestly it's what I'd be doing for a job in the future, now I study nothing remotely related to music, and I'm loving it so much more. Sweetie belle we still learn magic and sing, scootaloo will still ride and (probably have to) learn how to fix her scooter, and applebloom will most likely go into the family business and learn about potions (both of which we've seen evidence for multiple times) Sometimes, even when you have a passion for something and are devoted to it, it can still end up not being for you, or at the very least, not what you end up doing in the future

If you look closely at each of their cutie marks they all have "two cutie marks", or something like that, so maybe that could play a role.

It might have been obvious to everyone, but I just wanted to point it out.  Maybe one cutie mark can represent more than one talent?  Or maybe their cutie marks all look the same to represent that they are in a group for life?

A Cutie Mark dosen't automatically tell you, that this is the only thing you're good at.

 

For example, if we go by the  "one talent theory" and i get a Mini-Golf Cutie Mark, i am pretty much screwed, because no employee, would take somebody who is good at putting. XD

 

The Cutie Marks show their individual talents as well as the fact that they're best friends. The colors of the shield represents Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo (going from left to right). It's quite brilliant, if you ask me.

The apple has a heart within it

 

The star has a music note within it

 

The wing has a lightning bolt within it

 

And obviously the shield shared by all three.

 

They are perhaps the most comprehensive cutie marks to date, symbolizing three characteristics in one.

You can be multitalented, but I think the cutie mark is not just a talent but what they are meant to do in life.

 

The Cutie Mark Crusaders were meant to be Cutie Mark Crusaders and be on adventures together.

 

Think about it, if they all got their cutie marks the way we all previously thought they would, it would be the end of the CMC would it not? They would be forced to go off in different directions in life and their whole time together. Did they all not keep trying to get the same mark together as a group? Now they all have the same mark together as a group!

I was going to point out that the talents were not wasted because they still have individuality within their cutie marks to show what they are good at. Honestly, I think the design of their cutie marks were brilliant. Since a few people already explained my exact thoughts, I don't think I should repeat them. But yeah...great way to give them their cutie marks WITHOUT ruining the CMC group because they are better together in everything they try to accomplish.

That has already been foreshadowed in the episode. In fact, that's how they received their cutie marks: by realizing it's more important and fulfilling to help others discover themselves instead of obsessing over their own talents. So I'm sure they will remain together while also helping others. The CMC adventures may never end for them and hopefully, they won't

I believe theres more than meets the eye, the way they got their marks was special so that means they are special, i think they got 2 talents : the shield represents their cutie mark crusade to help others and the note, apple and wing is their individual talent.
