Which species is better? Pegasus, or Unicorn?

I think I slightly prefer unicorns over pegasi, but both species are really amazing!

I love Pegasi because of flight, but unicorns are amazing as well because of their magic abilities.

Thing is though, most unicorns can’t do ALL kinds of spells. Most just know ones that are related to their talent.

People tend to forget that most unicorns are not on par with Twilight Sparkle nor Starlight Glimmer. Likewise, most pegasi are not on par with Rainbow Dash. Nor are most earth ponies on par with Big MacIntosh. While it is true that unicorns, due to their ability to directly manipulate and channel magic, have the most potential, this doesn't make them better.

In fact, without neither pegasi for the weather manipulation, nor the earth ponies for their strength and connection to the land and plants, Equestrian society would likely collapse. Unicorns are not anywhere near as necessary for a functioning society as either pegasi or earth ponies. Pegasi and earth pony abilities are also far more consistent and reliable than unicorn magic, which can greatly vary from each individual. Pegasi always have their flight and earth ponies their connection to the land and inherent strength.

Pegasus can fly, unicorns can swing their horns. I don't think any of that is something to brag about
