So I've been seeing the Making Christmas Merrier campaign going on for a while now and I've personally been feeling sad that I can't contribute to it since I'm a high school student with no money. Because of this, I've decided to make a thread where we can share other good things we're doing for others this Christmas(and beyond!) as well as share ideas on things we can do. :kindness:

As a note, this thread is for everybody and not just those who aren't able to donate. Also, it's not supposed to make anyone feel guilty for not donating.

I guess I'll start with saying that I've been trying to be really friendly with someone who's only recently started coming to my church and seems really shy.

So what are you ponies doing this Christmas to make Christmas merrier? :twi:

There simply isn't much that I can do with my limited money situation, but I did give my brother $20 to buy some tabletop games at the beginning of this month. There is a friend that he has that was selling off a ton of very expensive tabletop games to my brother first. For example, one of the games on Amazon costs around $200. Each game the guy was selling, he was selling for $5 each. Yeah. After he had picked out a bunch, I decided to throw in $20 to get 4 more games. We walked out with quite a lot. :D Easily over $1,000 worth of games for around $80. I felt good to at least provide some assistance for that.

with my limited money situation also, I wont be buying much, but I have just enough to pay for the MCM thing and a few other small things, so yea, I was also able to buy presents for close family that were under $50 ... on Christmas itself I will be going water skiing down the coast (because its Summer in Australia xD) and it will be loads of fun ... :)

what about you, @Partialgeek514?

Wow! I wasn't expecting to see any replies to this topic after so long! :P

One thing I've been able to do this year is volunteer to be part of a choir and do some Christmas performances. We've had weekly practices since September and then last Saturday we had a four hour long rehearsal! If our choir leader hadn't provided food, I'm not sure I would have lasted. lol It's been a fun choir, and people seem to enjoy hearing us sing! :)

A simple meal you can give is enough most of the time. I'll take a lime pie, and a caramel cake and that'll be enough

Yeah. I find that a meal is often the best gift to let someone know you're thinking of them.

(That's also a really cute sig) :)

Hey, thanks. had to have it because Dashie can be the cutest out of the Mane6. I have no idea why the link towards the user who made it doesn't take to him though

I am the same, no money to help charitable causes, especially at this time of year -.- However, if you're just sending canned tins or non-perishable food to homeless charities, it will be appreciated. If you can live without a box of tea or a canned breakfast, there will always be someone who will be grateful for your contribution (regardless of how little you give). Plus it will also take away any repressed guilt you are feeling ^^

I plan on donating a little bit to MCM this Christmas, by then I’ll have more than enough saved up.
