ChefSandy 22 January 11, 2016 Share January 11, 2016 My iMac's fans are rather constant white noise while I'm in my home office, I occasionally utilize RainyMood and other similar sites, and I use an app called PZIZZ on my phone when sleeping. No white noise feels strange to me, and if it's too quiet I can't sleep easily. Meson Bolt 2,648 January 11, 2016 Share January 11, 2016 (edited) Eh, contrary to what most people say, I find this song very calming. You just have to listen to it for a long time before it grows on ya. Edited January 11, 2016 by Meson Bolt Your family is who you make it out to be. Willow 1,008 January 11, 2016 Share January 11, 2016 Not really sure if it would count... but David Attenborough's voice is so soothing that it helps me sleep. And, contrary to a lot of the posts here, I absolutely CANNOT fall asleep to the sounds of rain, thunder etc. It actually scares me. “Hardship often prepares an ordinary person for an extraordinary destiny.”― C.S. Unikitty 1,212 January 14, 2016 Share January 14, 2016 I like to use SimplyNoise and SimplyRain to play a combination of artificial rain, with some 'brown' noise quietly underneath it. It feels really nice and beautifully compliments all music played on top of it. It can even change the emotion of a song.
Invincible 2,091 January 14, 2016 Share January 14, 2016 I like the noise a waterfall makes. I also love (even though it's dangerous) the hum of electricity a cut electric cable often makes. Envy 6,170 January 14, 2016 Share January 14, 2016 I have to have a fan on to sleep. Music, too. I'd say the sound of sleet relaxes me, but that's not necessarily true as it'd make me have to get up and see if it's sticking! lol Everything needs more woodwind! Never heard of Torture Squad. My taste in metal turned more to the Christian bands like Impending Doom, Fit For A King, Demon Hunter, and Living Sacrifice when I was about 16. Shargrath 40 January 15, 2016 Share January 15, 2016 My favorite would be atmospheric black metal, esp one that is mostly instrumental like later Burzum albums and Summoning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbWMOoFFgLU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-k7ugMCSRU

PinkieatHeart 208 January 15, 2016 Share January 15, 2016 Hmmm.... well, I always turn my ceiling fan on at night, even when it's cold, just for the noise. So I guess that's one. Otherwise I usually have music going.... I don't specifically do it for white noise most of the time, but I get distracted by other things so often that it might as well be white noise half the time. 20% Cooler Than Cake 161 January 18, 2016 Share January 18, 2016 (edited) Many sounds involving water, such as ocean waves and dripping noises, as well as gentle wind, leaves crunching, and birds singing. However, the one noise that tenses me up the most is the sound of a beeping alarm clock. I wonder why. Edited January 18, 2016 by 20% Cooler Than Cake “There are only two ways to live your life.
