YouTuber MrRepzion, Goes On The Attack Against Bronies

@, People care for several reasons:

1. Because he's a pretty big name on YouTube, and he has a reputation of calling out stereotypes before.
2. Hypocritically, he stereotypes bronies, FIM, and furries based on actions of a few individuals. No one knows why he did it, but a lot suspect blatant clickbait.
3. Stereotypes are the basis of bigotry. Every single prejudice is founded on formulating stereotypes on groups of people. Bronies and furries have been complete butts of jokes for a long time now. Vids like these and the disgusting comments within them prove they won't go away anytime soon.

Secondly, a brony is nothing more than a fan of FIM. Everything else is a bonus. We're all weird in some way. But there's a difference between being weird/different and being creepy. Bronies who like to discuss dreams about characters or dream living in Equestria may come across as weird, but as long as it doesn't affect their lives negatively, that's fine. Talking to themselves in public can disturb some on the street, but every one of us does it, and that's okay. But the brony who claimed ownership of Twilight Sparkle (if this character were a real person, he'd be under suspicion of domestic violence), called her his fiancée, and hurled abusive messages to other bronies is a creep who needs help. To love and tolerate something like that is ignorant.

Here's a question that's far more relevant than this Rezion fellow: Why do any of you give a damn about what he thinks or says?

 

And anyone here who's even unintentionally throwing other members of the fandom under the bus is only doing this guy a favor.  "Sure, some Bronies are 'weird' like that.  But I'm not - or most aren't.  Make fun of them and celebrate the more wholesome aspects of the fandom."

 

We're all weird; get over it.  That's what most people probably think of any non-little girl who watches the show for their own personal entertainment.  If being a Brony is supposedly about embracing who you are, accepting the weird had ought to have been step number one.

 

Another thing not to give a damn about: Whether or not this guy enjoys the show.  Who cares?  You don't need his nor anyone else's approval.

 

No offense, but it sounds like you care more than you let on by your demeanor.

 

 

 

A little update from those videos alone within a week, the Rezion lost about 500-800 subs, but gained some as well. Most of his subs lost though were in the last day over 400 subs which show how much of an impact this cane have.

 

That's virtually nothing in the scale of things on Youtube.

 

The fact remains for me: Mr Repzion I feel sometimes very rarely makes a good point, but his opinions don't bother me because I understand he is mentally not as developed as most people. His opinions come from a child's perspective. So I don't really let anything he says bother me because really he only has like 250k subs which is nothing on Youtube.

I think there are various changes towards more drama within the YouTube community, especially when revenue is decreasing.

 

With Repzion, he's become more and more of an edgelord as time goes on. If anyone remembers his videos from way back when in 2011 or 2012, he wasn't nearly as in-your-face and intentionally offensive, whereas now he tries his best to draw fire towards himself or cause anguish for others. I understand that he came from a broken household, but that does not make it acceptable to do the things he currently does.

 

He is on a path to destruction because, as others have said, his very undeveloped way of thinking leads to him taking jabs in hypocrisy and shutting down anyone who says so. If you've ever seen him in his comments from 2013 onward, he's acted like more and more of a douche. In the Furry vid, I believe, there was a guy in the comments saying he's a clickbaiter (which is true) and he goes on the offensive calling the guy seriously retarded. 

 

This is how someone who's all about everyone getting an opinion acts? Lmao.

 

Personally, I don't think everyone deserves an opinion, and I act as such. I don't put on a veil of acceptance towards everything differing from me when in reality I'm just as biased to certain things as anyone else

I think he has been to geeky like conventions in general like comic con and such which so happens to have furries there. He must of had a lot of negative experiences and decided to base a whole fanbase based on that small group of cringe worthy people. Whilst these videos do seem like clickbait I don't see what the big deal with them is. Repzion is known to be a huge hypocrite anyway. He just posts some videos of bronies acting cringey (one of which was a parody) and then points out how cringe-worthy it is. I don't think it's a big deal. Now, I've always hated the whole "atheist youtuber" fad and MrRepzion's videos are cringe videos in my humble opinion. Despite all that I think he makes some good points on bronies and furries. Internet culture has produced a lot of disgusting and degenerate material, so I don't see a problem with people discussing this and educating others on why it is a problem.

 

I also don't see any reason to be offended at these videos. Of course these "cringe" examples represent a minority of our fandom, so why rush to their defense? If you vandalize peoples' vehicles or randomly hug strangers in a creepy costume then you should consider developing more empathy for other individuals who might see vandalism as something sort of illegal. I certainly don't believe that we should enable such disturbed behaviors in society.

I used to regularly watch MrRepzion's videos, but I quit a few months ago due to the decline in quality and simply disagreeing with more and more of what he says.

 

@ARagY said Rep is becoming an edgelord, and I agree. I started watching his videos about a year ago, and for the most part he had reasonable views on what he covered. He's always cursed a lot*, but said little more offensive than that.

Somewhat ironically, I found out about him from a video of his titled "My Little Pony Satanic?" where he refuted some televangelists from the 1980s that claimed MLP G1 was satanic.

 

*EDIT: Since I've watched him, I mean. He didn't curse back when he was a Christian.

We aren't defending the behavior of the people in these videos. MrRepzion is generalizing the behavior of all bronies to the way these ones act, and that's unacceptable.

In all seriousness, this isn't a big deal. People using their social media platforms to talk about the Brony fandom is nothing new. For a fandom that supposedly embraces the strangeness of liking a show meant for little girls, you would think we would have grown thicker skin by now. Who cares what people think? I'll admit that the clips in the video were cringe worthy and very...classy, but again, why do we care so much? We should be so confident in ourselves that we don't feel the need to explain away a cringe worthy minority, because that's not what most of us are.

The real problem is with the individual members of these fandoms who flaunt their interests in places where they're not welcome. If someone makes a good video on that, they're welcome to it. If he's going to use that in a blanket statement and blame the brony and furry cultures at large for it, he obviously doesn't know enough about them to be talking from anywhere other than his ass.

 

His misinformation, ego, and risking subscribers are his problems, not worth a damn in the world to the rest of us. In the end, he's just entertainment, and easily replaceable by most of the other 432000 hours of video that probably went up the same day he posted that video.
