Star Wars The Old Republic. After completing a quest line on a planet, players travel to a new planet to do a questline that takes them all over. Then a bonus storyline is available or players leave to go to the next planet and the quest cycle repeats.

I don't necessarily mind if a game is repetitive; not if there's still fun to be had among all the repetitions.  I have played and managed to enjoy some titles that were downright monotonous.  Destiny, on the other hand, was both excruciatingly repetitive and - for the overwhelming majority of the time - not particularly fun.  While the current version of Destiny (all content accounted for - and some things ignored altogether to save time) may well be the best version of the game to date, it is still basically the same self-recycling, self-limiting, player-punishing experience it ever was.

Personally, the reason I hate it is because of just how badly it screws Revan over.

I think Rouge Warrior on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, or PC has to be one the most repetitive game I've ever played, and I actually completed it!  It's a first person shooter game that plays like a shooter....and that's just about it. You shoot bad guys....and that's it. Nothing to spice the game up, no upgrade, no unlocks, no boss fights, no special moves, nothing. You just stand behind cover and move to the next one until the current mission is over, and guess what? You get to do the same exact thing again and again on the next few missions. It's the epitome of repetitive first person shooters. This was the first and only game I ever played that literally made my head feel numb while I played it. The game offers nothing whatsoever.

I havent played that many Rpgs, but they seem to be the most repetitive to me, with the constant level up system. I have never beaten an Rpg because i always started to get either bored or frustrated with them, with the constant level up-ing. The only Rpg i did almost beat was Dark Cloud, but that wasnt just an Rpg ( not even sure if that game counts as an rpg, i just assume ), it was also a town building simulator, so it was a bit different.

I’m gonna go broad.

The majority of mobile games (there are some good ones in there, though!)

Clickers. I used to find them fun. When I was ten. Now, I just don’t get it at all. How are they supposed to be fun?

Many FPS campaigns. Don’t get me wrong, there are some fantastic campaigns, for example, Halo. I’m a huge fan of Halo, and with maybe the exception of Halo 4, I’ve been pleased with their campaigns. Halo 3 in particular was a standout game.

But COD campaigns? Those get repetitive very fast. I actually love COD multiplayer, it’s fast paced and fun. You can play a quick pick up game or play all night with friends. I’ve played countless hours of COD, and the multiplayer is fun (at least to me:please:), but the campaigns are usually very repetitive.

The majority of WWE games after Smackdown Vs. Raw 2008 (the one's that have a career mode). In career mode you fight match after match, week after week, manage your daily activities between shows, etc. It kinda becomes a simulator part way in. This wouldn't be a problem, if the years of game time were filled with anything interesting. Seems like they only set up one or two in game years worth of story content before it starts to repeat. And it doesn't change if you decide to change shows. Different people, same feud.

It gets worse in future games. Career mode goes from sim to flat out monotonous grinding, with little story or branching career paths. even the end game is less than spectacular. Not to mention a lack of voice acting and cut scenes give it a very dull feel. You fight match after match, beating the same opponent a dozen times over, you become champion but are still treated like a rookie, fight the same folks again, and then the game just ends. Thanks for playing.

Runescape. Maxing out just one of about 25 skills can take 3 months or more. And all you do is click click click click... :crackle:

Friendship isn't always easy. But it's definitely worth fighting for.

Most puzzle games get pretty repetitive quickly, but that's also a part of the appeal. That said, I do love me some puzzle league.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.
