I also don't think the premiere will be that good. you pretty much stated how I feel about it. The fact that Haber, one of the WEAKEST writers of the show is now in charge is incredibly worrisome: Friendship games and The cutie remark have me horribly hesitant. Plus, I dislike starlight, and I'm pretty sure she's going to be sunset 2.0 here (and based on how FG tackled that, not looking forward to a season of shilling her and making plots revolve around her saving the day.) Swifty 249 March 19, 2016 Share March 19, 2016 (edited) Them all are overrated. I didn't like their latest episodes at all. Levinger even flanderized Fluttershy more than Larson. The quality dramatically dropped in season 5, a bad season six would not be a big surprise. Edited March 19, 2016 by Swifty
Goat-kun 2,527 March 19, 2016 Share March 19, 2016 We’ll get there in a good week’s time, so I shall keep my bells and lawnmowers in storage for what remains of this waiting period … Not that I haven’t already contributed my fair share of blasphemous waifu-shaming pieces. At the end of everything, we’ll have to come to terms with a possible fact that things function acceptably well with this level of writing and that there seems to be no need for anyone or anything to get better. Some shall argue that the latest seasons have better content, but they will be talking about quantity, not quality. The stakes may be higher, the places may be new, the background characters may be diverse and numerous, but does all this amount to something if it is not used in an intelligent and sparing manner? The artists were given the finest canvas and a vast array of colors, but does it help if said artists cannot use them? Perhaps they have learned. Perhaps we shall witness the beginning of a new renaissance. We shall see. My body is ready!
EverEverOn 346 March 19, 2016 Share March 19, 2016 It's only a possibility that Season 6 will be low quality. There's still hope that it will be amazing. But considering how short this hiatus was, I do believe it won't necessarily be the best season. But in the end, we can appreciate we even have this much pony. Most children's shows don't even make it this far.
Aurora Glimmer 494 March 19, 2016 Share March 19, 2016 (edited) While I don't think Season 6 is going to be a trainwreck like so many people think it's going to be, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. While I enjoyed Season 5 overall - it's probably my second favorite season after Season 2 - I was throughly disappointed with The Cutie Re-Mark and Starlight Glimmer's backstory, as well as her hasty redemption (if what we got even be called that). The man who wrote that episode is now showrunner and Starlight seems to have been elevated to main character status: two things that don't exactly fill me with confidence. That being said, I'm going to wait until the premiere actually aires to pass judgement. Besides, even if the premiere is weak, we've still got 22 episodes and the finale to make up for it. Work on Season 6 started shortly after Season 5 started airing, so it's not like they threw it together at the last minute. One thing about Season six that I suspect is actually that the short hIatus was that they had a Plan and Story idea planned for Season 5 and Season 6 to work in concert with each other (so there might be an ongoing attempt to bridge last season with this season and that might be why Season 5 felt so lackluster and had the map be so Inconsequential and unexplained: because they were planning on doing so in Season 6). The problem I have is that, if there is an ongoing plot they mapped out for Season 5 and Season 6 to share, all signs point to it being about starlight glimmer, which I REALLY don't care for. (since the only thing the map actually "did" in S5 was arrange for starlight's Discovery and redemption, and S6's premier looks to be heavily feature starlight. He also wrote the forgettable Leap of Faith. Honestly, I think some bronies are in denial about how S6 will likely be a downgrade in quality. True that. Worst Key episode by far IMO (Yes, even more than Rainbow falls; that was bad too but at least it wasn't ungodly BORING)
Sidral Mundet 1,666 March 19, 2016 Share March 19, 2016 No I'm not worried about the quality of Season 6 because I haven't seen any of it. And this is why I hate the advertisement focus on the two-parters. MLP is generally a SoL type show and that's what the meat and potatoes of it is. The two-parters are the buns on a hamburger. As for the stuff we have though on the premier, I'm not going to lie, I ain't looking forward to it. First off Starlight is polarizing in and of herself and having worst pony (IMO) be the star of the episodes it already starting off on a bad note. But the big problem I have is that it seems like far too much is going on with drastically different tones. We have the "comedic" baby Alicorn antics with her stressed Auntie Twilight, the "emotional" friendship plot with Starlight and Sunburst (and Spike if the teaser is to be believe, and I find that really weird) and then the "dramatic" storm that not even the Royal Sisters can stop that threatens to destroy the Crystal Empire. To me that a lot of stuff going on in a 44 minute episode span, so all of them are more than likely going to be rushed as all get out. And with the focus on the two (arguably three) new characters, the Remane 5 (sans Twilight of course) are going to get the shaft in terms of screen time again which pisses me off to no end. It's been five seasons and only the Cutie Map has actually put the focus of a two-parter on another memeber of the Mane 6. How about instead of introducing new characters, Hasbro you use your old ones instead? 2 Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end.
Discordian 6,015 March 19, 2016 Share March 19, 2016 It's at this point that I realize people care way more than I do about who does which individual episodes. I couldn't even name any of the crew who work on the show. lol

JeyWiz 1,097 March 19, 2016 Share March 19, 2016 (edited) Come on, some people are just being a bit too pessimistic. Season 4 had no episodes written by Larson, yet it turned out to be my most favourite season of all time, in my opinion. I mean sure, the fact that a lot of popular writers won't be involved with season 6 could make you a worried, but don't forget that there are new and lesser-known episode writers who would be able to pull it off just as well as AKR and the others. Besides, as the two users above me said, we should actually watch the episodes when they air before making a verdict. Who knows? Season 6 could be the best we'll have. LeafFerret 3,382 March 19, 2016 Share March 19, 2016 Personally, I think the reason why I'm not looking forward to Season 6 is the fact that the show hardly changed since the first season and I think it's starting to tire people out and they don't want to see the same thing every year, I mean, they wouldn't let Rainbow leave the group to go chase her dream to join the Wonderbolts, the main characters haven't really developed at all and I think it's time to make a change to that. I would like to see Rainbow leave the group to join the Wonderbolts and probably let Rarity leave Ponyville to focus on her shop in Canterlot and also giving minor characters more attention and not letting the main characters take too much of the spotlight sort of like Slice of Life. 3 Sig by Kyoshi. Guest March 19, 2016 Share March 19, 2016 I think it's odd that people will complain about the quality so much, but if they just go "well people don't like the show" and cancel it due to quality complaints they will freak out that the show has been cancelled. And despite how many "quality" complaints everything in this show gets, the reviews on review sites are always high... The words "unpleasable fanbase" are floating around in my head... cmarston1 5,959 March 19, 2016 Share March 19, 2016 While I do have some concerns about Season 6, they are about Starlight Glimmer and her character arch. The fact she may be elevated to a mane 7th status despite not really doing anything to earn it and getting friendship given to her on a silver platter and having the worst redemption in the entire show gives me some concerns on where the show will be going. Plus her redemption being completely derivative of Sunset Shimmer makes me like her character even less. Seeing the main series blatantly rip off it's spin off series is kind of sad to be honest. But besides that, the preview of the premiere actually makes the episode look at least somewhat interesting to me, as well as the snyopsis for each of the episodes from episode 3 - 5 (all the synopsis that we have so far). And the whole theme of Explore Equestria could have the potential to add a bit more to the show. While I do have a few concerns and the fact that soo many writers have left the show, I can't say that I am dreading season 6 or even thinking it is going to be a bad season. I have so far liked every season this show has including season 3 (which I actually really enjoyed) and I am going to wait until the season begins to actually judge weather or not it is a good season or not.
Arrowstormen 62 March 19, 2016 Share March 19, 2016 I think Josh Haber has made some pretty good stuff. And while the old guard isn't going to be there for this season, then I'm not going to condemn it before having watched at least the first half of the season. It might be not-as-good as the previous season, but I still think it will be a fine season.

Zantetsuken 364 March 19, 2016 Share March 19, 2016 I agree that we should wait till the episodes air but the reason people are worried about the season is mainly because of Josh Haber's less than stellar track record with writing episodes. almost all the episodes he's written are either, forgettable (Leap Of Faith), pointless filler (Bloom and Gloom), poorly written (Starlight's backstory in The Cutie Remark) or all of the above (Castle Mane-ia) People are worried because a track record like that combined with the fact that he is the show runner for season 6 makes it a real possibility that his lack of experience COULD I repeat COULD (AS IN, IT IS A POSSIBILITY) be apparent throughout the entire season. I don't want to say season 6 will be bad but with all this information coming out about the current state of the writing team, I'am fearful of what we may be presented with.
FlareGun45 2,221 March 20, 2016 Share March 20, 2016 We survived without Larson before. Season four was so far my favorite season, and Larson didn't write it (not that I have anything against him, his episodes are pretty good). Also Josh ain't that bad. His episodes are actually pretty good (except for his first one, Castle Mane-ia). We got Ed Valentine coming back and both of his episodes were awesome! Season six actually looks pretty promising! We get to know what the CMCs are up to now, Spike is finally gonna have an episode more people will enjoy, and I for one like Starlight and she has great potential. Even though you're probably right about her being reformed too soon, but I still think she'll be a good character! Season six will be the best season ever! You'll see!
Aurora Glimmer 494 March 20, 2016 Share March 20, 2016 (edited) While I think all our worrying will amount to nought once the season actually starts airing, I've certainly got my fair share of misgivings. Like Zantetsuken, I'm not sure if Haber's a good enough writer to be an effective showrunner, nor am I sure they'll be able to properly redeem Glimmer and make up for her lackluster backstory and insta-redemption montage in the Season 5 finale. That being said, I'm still excited for Season 6 and can't wait until it starts airing. Edited March 20, 2016 by Silvestra Spooner
Roughshod 719 March 20, 2016 Share March 20, 2016 I'll admit it's not been a great news run for MLP lately. I'm always a little apprehensive as well as optimistic before a new season arrives. But it's ponies. And a brony's gotta watch the ponies. Through thick and thin. Let's do this. The truth is always rough.
Firedog 320 March 20, 2016 Share March 20, 2016 Season 5 wasn't the best season ever, but it had its moments. I'm hoping season 6 acts a little more like season 4 to be honest. It seems season 5 focused too much on pleasing bronies than it did just telling a great story :/ Pony NEWS YouTube Channel
