movies/tv Justice League might not outgross the MLP Movie by that much

I'm serious. Yes, they're iconic characters, but let's not forget who's directing the thing. If Batman v Superman is any indication, audiences will stay away from a poorly reviewed film. It got beat out by a b-list R-rated antihero for crying out loud! And a Melissa McCarthy comedy!

You mean... Deadpool? The odds were always kind of in that movie's favor; it had serious hype. Implying that Deadpool somehow sucker punched all its competition out of nowhere isn't at all accurate.

The MLP movie isn't going to have nearly as much hype by the masses. That doesn't mean that I hope it does poorly, but I don't think it has the advantages that certain other movies did upon release.

Well if justice league is going to be as bad as batman vs superman then it is deserved. THat movie managed to bore me and It never managed to pull me into it's story/world.

Sure, that why the transformers movies are bombing everytime.

The general audience dosen't give a crap what critics say. They just look at the title and say "Yeah, it's party time. Transformers, bang-bang."

You just need to say Justice League, with an all-star cast of DC Universe characters and people will come. There are people out there, who didn't like avengers and it's one of the highest grossing blockbusters, of the last 10 years.

You're mad if you think that THIS MOVIE, reaches astronomical box office success. Let's be realistic people.

I want the movie to be successful, but you're delusional if you think the My Little Pony will be as big if not more successful than the freaking Justice League. The Justice League is one of the biggest names in fictional media, let alone comic books, the move will draw massive hype just by the name alone, regardless of reception

Calling Deadpool a B-lister is Disengenous IMO given that he's basically the biggest Meme hero there is. He's not "AS" big as Spiderman, but he's pretty damned popular at the moment.

I'm hoping Justice League does good--The Batman trilogy has been the only saving grace coming from that licensing company so far. But here is hoping for Suicide Squad to bring back some DC love!

I do enjoy the shit out of their animated movies. They are really really good.

Unfortunately Hack Snyder is going to ruin Justice League. Even Shyamalan is a better director than him.

It doesn't help that DC seems to be grasping at what makes successful super hero movies successful and just seems to think "Dark and edgy= Successful" based on how batman vs Superman turned out.

After that movie I have little faith in DC to know how to make a good superhero movie.

Will it outdo Justice League in terms of sales? Probably.Parents will definitely take their kids to see it,so there's profit made back.

I'm a big Batman fan, but his portrayal was really off in Batman vs. Superman and am rethinking my decision to watch Justice League. I'll go see it for Wonder Woman and Cyborg though. Comic book fans will still watch it.

Transformers started off okay and got worse.

I actually liked the first G.I. Joe film. It wasn't spectacular, but it wasn't terrible.

Jem and the Holograms was a HUGE disservice to the cartoon and Hasbro should have been ashamed. Except they're not, because they keep hiring crappy directors.

I am not optimistic about Hasbro's newest movie. I'm hoping it won't be bad.

Eh, Justice league has out of the box appeal to the young male audience, plus mainstream appeal to adults looking for a brainless action movie. MLP on the other hand has issues there about "take their kids to see it" in that Hasbro will have to fight HARD to get parents to take their young boys to see MLP.

MLP will get the young girl sales, but young boy sales are another thing, while Justice league won't have quite the stigma for both boys and girls (since its fairly "normal" nowadays for girls to like comic books too)

I dunno, Bats vs Supers still grossed tons of cash despite negative reviews. I expect Justice League will repeat the same story . I just hope pony movie makes good cash, but I don't expect it to be even a competition to Justice League

I personally didn't enjoy Batman Vs. Superman that much (especially towards the end of the film), so I doubt I'm going to see the new Justice League movie, but I'm pretty sure JL will outgross the MLP 2017 movie as the movie contains iconic DC characters, is an asset to a brand name that has been around since the 1960's if my research is accurate, and has been likely well looked after by the people at DC Comics, and I'm pretty sure that the WB's marketing department will be fighting tooth and nail to ensure the movie's success (I promise you'll see ads for it everywhere you look when we are closer to its cinema release date)

If they want to save Justice League they will publicly say "We are letting go of David Goyer and Snyder and get people who actually know what they are doing."

If they do that, then can they bring in Bruce Timm and Paul Dini as executive producers or writers?

The MLP movie will compete against Thor, which comes out in November, and Star Wars, which comes out in December.

I think people overestimate how popular MLP is. I would bet money on the Justice League, Thor, and Star Wars all SIGNIFICANTLY outgrossing the MLP movie.
