So for some reason I don't eaven know, we celebrate the last day in April and welcome May with a big fire and fireworks. This is what it looked like in my town:

And I filmed the fireworks where you can hear ShadowBolt from the forums talk about dogs in the background.

Btw go to 1:40 for the awesome part if you're too lazy to watch it all

And here are two pictures of the fire

This maybe seems odd to you but we do this in Sweden for some random reason :P

And it's actually fun.

My town used to do a thing like this on the 4th of July (cliche I know) but with the bonfire and all it was actually a rather nice time to relax and hang out and have fun for a night.

Fire?

I'm sorry, all I can think about is the Swedish band In Flames.

Huh?! How could I not remember this? ... I went to a Swedish school for 4-5 years and I can't recall celebrating this day at all...

Good thing I have my mom to remember my time in Nicaragua. (where I went to the Swedish school)

No colorful celebration of burning hockey sticks and waving hockey jerseys to honor the most Swedish-friendly franchise in America, the Detroit Red Wings??

And yes I know it's called a bonfire.

NO WAY. I disagree. If it looked like that I'd never come. Never ever, not a chance.

That's way too much people. And actually I don't really care if the fireworks has anything to do with the celebration, fireworks just happens to be one of my big interests since I buy ALOT of them (smällde 7000kr i luften förra året (som farsan brukar säga)) and sometimes I make my own :)

But this thread was about how we celebrate it, aye?

And that video brings false information. According to the traditions and well, thats how Sweden is.

Yes it is and no it doesn't.

This is how we do it around here, and fireworks has been a part of it as long as I can remember ;)

Well, It's actually a show called... I thinks it's "Handel på grensen" or "Ullared" or something like that. The show was airing on Viasat 4 I think, a while back.

That is how Norwegians know about is at least
