ESPN report: http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/15939933/muhammad-ali-dies-74

Muhammad Ali is widely considered to be the greatest boxer of all-time. But what made him so great is not only did he brag about his greatness. He proved it both in and out of the ring. When he was drafted into the Vietnam War, he refused to participate, citing his Islamic beliefs. His courage against the Vietnam War nearly cost him his career, but the Supreme Court overturned his felony conviction with an 8-0 ruling. (Thurgood Marshall didn't participate for taking part in an earlier ruling.) He became the symbol of both boxing and the anti-war counterculture during the 1960s and 70s. Ali helped paved way to introducing a wave of black athletes into sports, where this wave is seen today in sports like football and basketball.

When he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, he became an activists to spread word of the disease. His signature moment while battling it was in 1996 when he lit the torch to open the summer Olympics in Atlanta.

Ali can be paired down into his rhyme:

“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. The hands can't hit what the eyes can't see.”

He proved to be the Greatest. And he'll forever be the Greatest. RIP, Ali.

Muhammed Ali WAS the greatest of all time and if you liked his bragging attitude during his carreer or not, he has always proved that in the ring. Whenever somebody asked me, who would win in a dream fight, between Ali and Mike Tyson, i always say Muhammed Ali, because Ali was a much clever and quicker fighter, while Tyson was just all power.

RIP Ali, you will forever be the greatest.

The greatest of all time finally goes from us. Not a fan of sports, but so much respect for a legendary athlete who helped so many others.

Ali turned smack talk into an art form, thrilling entertainer. On a personal level, his fight with Chuck Wepner inspired my favorite film ROCKY.

One of the best sports photographs of all time right here:  Ali vs. Liston

This one is pretty good too

One of the best points of the Atlanta Olympics was when The Great One lit the cauldron.

This was super depressing cause Muhammad Ali was like a inspiration to me. I wanted to be the best like he was and redefine whatever sport I would go into(golf or soccer btw). This also sucks cause one of my best mates has Parkinson's disease and his is worse. He trembles all the time but he can still walk and be active. He also has trouble forming sentences which is super advanced for his age.

I know I'm very late to post but I heard about Ali's death when news was released. What is there to say? He was a great boxer, civil rights activist, entertainer, and was inspiration to many.

"I won't miss boxing, boxing will miss me."

RIP Ali.
