movies/tv Movies that you hate, but everyone else loves

Pretty self explanatory

Here are mine:

Titanic

The most glorified fanfiction of all time!

Avatar

Never understood what people see in that movie

The Empire Strikes Back

I always though it was kinda boring.

I thought Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland was crap. Why was it called Underland? Why did Alice have the personality of a twig? Why was there a stupid prophesy going on? Ugh. It could have been awesome too -___- Tim Burton and Alice in Wonderland should have worked.

I didn't really like Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory either. I don't know what the fuck Johnny Depp was trying to do with Willy Wonka. It was just really weird and not in good or funny way. Weird doesn't mean it's automatically good or funny.

I suppose this amused me:

Btw, I'm aware not everybody loved these films but more people like them than hate them.

I take it you merely mean the James Cameron rendition rather than the actual event?

Yes, i never liked that movie, always thought it was too melodramatic and boring

James Cameron's Avatar as it has to be hands down the most boring film that I have ever watched.

How a movie that uninteresting managed to become the highest grossing film in the world continues to elude me to this day.

Might have something to do with the visuals.

I won't deny that the visuals are great, but I don't think that they make up for an almost 3 hour film with boring characters and an uninteresting plot.

Plus I find it funny how despite making so much money and getting a themed park at Disney World and 4 sequels, no one really talks about the film very much.

I guess it was just so dull that there isn't much room for discussion.

Everyone was excited for it because no one had seen anything like it before. Now we see stuff like the visuals in Avatar all the time in movies nowadays and Avatar was the first to do it. No one will be excited for the sequels because it won't blow our minds anymore.

I think James Cameron's Avatar was a terrible movie. Visuals aside, I think the plot was terrible, the characters were terrible, the action was terrible, and the acting was terrible. Also the thing where the blue aliens have hair sex was weird.

The Evil Dead remake/reboot. Seems most people were fond of this movie but I never enjoyed it. All I saw in that film was horrific violence spread throughout a ton of extreme illogic. Pretty much the entire plot of the film was just one giant convenient excuse to get these young people killed. Doesn't matter how stupid they become all of a sudden apparently. I get it that it was supposed to be a throwback to older films, but it really makes me question the quality of older films like this then.

I actually saw the remake first, but after I saw the original Willy Wonka, I despised the remake. The remake pretty much lost all of the wonder that the first film had and Johnny Depp really overplayed the role. Maybe he was supposed to, but he does that with nearly every role he is in.

The original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was my sister's favourite movie growing up so I watched it a LOT. I seen Tim Burton's version in the cinema and I thought the beginning was quite good but then, that bizarre Willy Wonka showed up and ruined it all. It was awkward to watch if anything. I normally like Johnny Depp but that was a low point for him.

I'm gonna just say Star Wars in general. As a kid I loved the original trilogy, but it's not something that really carried with me as I grew up the same way that other films I loved did. I actually just hate how popular Star Wars is and can't for the life of me fathom why it's so popular. They're not terrible movies (prequels aside), they're okay, but I wouldn't think they deserve the universal praise and adoration they continue to get in this day and age.

It is astonishing that Avatar was as successful as it was, what's even more amazing is how they actually think people want multiple sequels of this thing. It's been so long since the first one now and it has to be the highest grossing movie with the smallest relative impact on common social culture in history, no one remembers anything about the film other than it had blue cat people and was 3D. No one in the history of life since then has quoted a line from the film, and if anyone could honestly from the top of their head (no Google) give me an actual quote from that film I'd be shocked. I suppose the real tragedy is that James Cameron has essentially wasted the later parts of his career on this garbage when he could be putting his considerable talents to much better use (if they ever went through with an Akira adaptation him or Nolan would be my choices to pull it off).

The Avengers. I'm not saying I hate it for the sole fact that I'm a DC comic guy rather than Marvel (DC comics are a million times better anyways [scold me if you must Marvel fans XD]), but I found nothing intriguing or grasping to me, both plot wise, and script wise.

I lost interest in The Avengers when I was maybe 40 minutes into it.

So yeah XD

Besides Frozen, the Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Hunger Games series.

Oh yes, I forgot these two pieces of crap

Frozen
The film that Disney is trying desperately to keep relevant

Hunger Games
The series so irrelevant that people have completely forgotten that existed

Well, everyone in my class last year liked Frozen and Inside Out, but for me those were the worst movies ever.

Hmm...

Titanic

Not a big fan of romance. Only reason I watched the movie was to see the boat. :please:

Twilight

Not a big fan of romance. Or vampires. Especially vampires that glitter in sunlight. That's just a whole new level of fag (not referring to homosexuals). I still wanna see the spoof of Twilight where Blade just comes along and kills 'em all. 10/10 would be best movie ever.

Frozen

Never seen it. So don't actually know if I like it or not. I just know I am sick and tired of that stupid f***ing song that EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER sings in public EVERY GODD*MN MINUTE. I've punched countless people for singing it near me. I can't stand it.

Jurassic Park....

I still have no idea what that film was supposed to be... An adventure film? Horror? Heck, parts of it has me questioning if it was supposed to be a comedy! Was it supposed to be for kids? Then what about the scene with the severed arm? Adults? It seemed pretty tame if it was targeting adults.... No matter what you choose there are so many things that seem out of place in the movie for that genre. I feel like it was sort of the "Avatar" of its time (another movie I didn't like). It had, (and still has imo) great special effects, heck, those robot dinosaurs look more realistic than the CG we have today, because it's always easy to tell CG when you see it; but special effects don't make a movie.... and even if the plot knew what it wanted to be, all the characters I found to be bland and forgettable... I literally do not remember a single name from that movie, if you showed me any character, I could not tell you anything about them. Maybe it just wasn't my kind of film, but to this day I have no idea why everyone loves this movie so much. Maybe people watch the movie for the dinosaurs more then the humans, but most of the movie only shows the humans, and when dinosaurs are there, most of the time they aren't doing anything interesting... :/ idk, it just completely baffles me...

From dusk till dawn

IMHO a completely overrated movie with no significant plot. There's gangsters, there's a striptease bar, there's vampires...hat's about it. Not even George Clooney can save it here.

I quite disliked Life of Pi and the praise it received. It was said to be a spiritual and life-questioning movie but after having finished watching it I didn't gain any new insight about life or morality. I'd say it was just hyped purely because it's something different from an action movie.

Why do people hate Frozen? It's not my favourite Disney film but I thought it was pretty good. I can't see anything really bad about it. The only real problem I had with it is the soundtrack (except for Let it Go and the snowman one) was pretty bland.

Simple. Frozen. Everyone has sang the songs so much I just want to turn into a fireball of Twilight Sparkle. I strongly hate frozen and the songs are mediocre crap.
