Arrow 236 May 3, 2012 Share May 3, 2012 Maybe there's a topic for this already, but IDGAF. Personally I use /], because it resemblances a hoof more than /), however /) looks "cleaner" somehow. Also, most of the bronys I know use that :/ So, what do you use?
Champion RD92 8,658 May 3, 2012 Share May 3, 2012 I've actually never seen anyone use /] I always use /)
LowfatEnvelope 335 May 3, 2012 Share May 3, 2012 The first time i saw that i saw a /| (bit different from /] but almost the same thing, which does makes sense as hooves are generally flat). Then i saw /) and now use it instead. I guess i just like the way it looks more. Maybe curves are generally more appealing to the eye than flat things (as flat is generally not very interesting) so that's why ponies use it. (Also if you look at a picture, the ponies hooves in the show do actually seem to be slightly curved. At least to me anyway). 2 ~L.F.E.~

Speedy Transition 788 May 3, 2012 Share May 3, 2012 (edited) as you can see from my fast drawing, "/)" Is a much more iconic symbol, within the Brony community, and changing it, this late on, is pointless Edited May 3, 2012 by Speedy Transition 7 Want a custom profile background?~ CLICK HERE! Fire_Fly 499 May 3, 2012 Share May 3, 2012 The /] is new to me, too, but I can see how it does look a little more realistic... Although, I do like the more cartoonish look of /), and it's the one I've been using so far. I've got an idea! No..... No, wait; it's just a concussion.... Kaborer 164 May 3, 2012 Share May 3, 2012 Can't say that I've seen /], so naturally I use /). I think it also looks more like the hooves in the show. Thanks to Proenix on deviantart for the vector in my avatar and signature.

Nas 2,873 May 4, 2012 Share May 4, 2012 I go with /) because it actually looks like a DHX-style pony. I mean, /] just looks like some robot pony thing. Plus, I rarely see that one used. My journey in the fandom started on April 5, 2012. I joined here on April 24, 2012. Where that journey is headed now, who knows...
Batbrony 16,054 May 4, 2012 Share May 4, 2012 Honestly, I wasn't even aware that /) stood for brohoof until I saw this thread, but, I guess if it's been in use longer, then I'll stick with /).
