Praying to ponies

Its just the dream or something i had, in terms of pony statues. Or i dont know if it was a dream or if i was day dreaming. But suddently i'd imagine that people had pony statues they prayed too, like if you have homework problem you'd pray to Twilight Sparkle. Or if you were dreaming it means Princess Luna visited you.

 

Is it weird to think like that? I just had this on my mind lately

Well its just sometimes i tend to think of Luna watching over me as i sleep. I don't know why that is, i just get a chilly experience thinking that ponies watch over me. Not to offend people, but its just something i've dreamt or felt lately.

I like the concept because they are closer to my heart than other gods so it just makes sense. And because I cannot lie to myself and say the other gods are actually well intentioned, and all gods are flawed even if we were to take ponies as gods, but this idea is funner and more interactive because we know how they behave and our mind might think its more real more easily than other gods. And yeah I think Luna is a prime choice and she could be beneficial for how she interacts with others in dreams she could make your reams lucid or point out the origin of the true reasons for your nightmares (studies basically suggest its fear of the dark and supernatural dark things that could be in that dark, the belief of them, can cause nightmares in at least children but nightmares can be about specific problems too like ever have a dream about going to the bathroom but you wouldn't because when its dark you are afraid of the dark and decide to wait til you need to go really badly then go to the bathroom with all the lights on on the way down(so in other words its still basically fear of the dark lol)).

 

But now to things like praise the apple god, um it'd be quite fun I imagine even if you didn't get a benefit out of it, and it might actually be funner to do that way than waiting for Luna to answer your prayers. Just if theres ever a fan group of this lets be hesitant to accept group rules that are fun but sketchy because you don't need someone with an ulterior motive trying to turn it into a cult for their own personal gain.

i mean i've prayed to Steve Jobs on countless occasions, so it wouldn't be all that silly to me. F-it i'll pray to Princess Cadence next time i need to find the strength to spread some love.

I wouldn't exactly go as far as to actually pray to fictional ponies, but I can understand looking up to them and their wisdom when in need of help and guidance.

 

But the idea of Princess Luna visiting you while you're dreaming is fun.

I gotta say, sometimes, when I've had a really crappy day, I just tend to say a few words to Luna at night, maybe Celestia in the morning if I feel like it.  I just feel like it will somehow help me at least a little bit.  Whether or not it actually does, I don't remember.  In that case, I should really do it more often...

You guys should really give religion a chance. Not all denominations are what you're thinking of, honest. There are good loving denominations that teach good values, welcome strangers and all-in-all provide a great experience. Granted, it might not be as *fun* as stuff involving a cartoon... Actually, there's a chance you might find it pretty boring. But the kind of denomination I'm thinking of aren't bad places to meet nice people. They won't even ask if you actually believe in God or not. All are welcome.

Go for it! I've always wondered whom I direct my wishes to, as a non-believer. Isn't God/s a personification of what you believe is good with the world? If you see that in Luna or other ponies, what is the problem?

Not something I'd do personally, but if it makes you happy, so be it. I mean, there are certainly weirder things in the fandom. The first discussion I ever had on here was with someone who sincerely wanted to found a Brony nation-state.

Remember seeing a lot of this in the early days of the fandom with varying levels of sincerity. I'll say the same thing I did back then. If you are going to pray to fictional characters as if they were saints or spirit guides, you could certainly do worse than the Mane Six and co.

Considering people pray to other things all the time and believe it to be a factual thing, I don't see what would make this any weirder than those. I personally think praying doesn't mean anything in the slightest regardless of what one would pray to, so honestly, go for it, if it gives you comfort of sorts. Pray to ponies, pillows, cheeseburgers, whatever you wish.

You can really pray to anything in my opinion. Even though the ponies are made up, they still exist somewhere in the mindscape. Pray to whomever you wish. And who knows, since all things are possible, sentient horses could have created the universe.

I only pray to lord GabeN so that I may be blessed with random crits and free hats.  Jokes aside, don't pray to ponies.  I guess if it helps you sleep it's all right but don't tell anybody unless you want to come across as a madman.  Real religion is not a bad idea since you get to meet new people and learn good morals.
