Mane 6 Race Switch

Would it be interesting if there was an episode that involved the Mane 6 in an incident that switches their species, and having to deal with situations based on their new abilities?

 

For instance, Twilight and Rarity would become Earth ponies, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash would become Unicorns, and Pinkie Pie and Applejack would become Pegasi. I think that would set up for a hilarious and interesting episode.

They(as in not AJ and Pinkie) have already been turned into earth ponies by Discord in Return of Harmony Part 1, plus Rarity was basically an alicorn in Sonic Rainboom. That said, I would certainly love to see stuff like that happen again! Fluttershy and RD as a unicorns could be very interesting...

Also, if it happens, I'd prefer the Earth ponies be Pegasi for that episode, basically because I'd like to see what kind of Pinkie Lauren Faust thought of when they were still making the show.

Considering that the original Fluttershy was an Earth Pony, and the original Pinkie was a Pegasus, it's be true to the original characters. I'd like to see Twilight as a pegasus though, and Rainbow Dash as a unicorn would be hilarious

They did that in an episode of the Teen Titans (epic show, Tara was in it too ). That was a very interesting episode, and can be a huge advantage of expressing character.

 

One of the things they did in that episode, is that two characters switch bodies, and therefore abilities too, with eachother, and the first thing they did was tell eachother about themselves, their personality, their backgrounds, basically revealing everything about their character, and that really is a good tactic when writing an episode for a cartoon.

Heh, that woould be interesting. Poor Twilight without her magic. And Rainbow Dash as a unicorn XD I'd laugh so hard, her trying and failing probably to use magic and Pinkie throwing parties on Cloudsdale would be epic, everypony would probably think of her as "a few apples short of a bushel" as Applejack once said in an episode. lol.

I would like to see how they would react if they were a different species. It already kinda happened in Return of Harmony, but I want to see Twilight being a pegasus and Fluttershy a Unicorn just for the reaction.

Whoa, great idea. It would show alot about their characters and it would be pretty funny. Twilight would freak out without her magic and Rainbow Dash would think earth pony life is boring and stuff. Good idea, I hope they consider this.

Yeah, Faust's original character for Pinkie was a Pegasus. She intended for her to be one of those "annoying" and "non-stop nagging" types. She also made her to be ultra-hyper(er), thanks to her alternate form of transportation, she'd be flying all over the place.

 

Also, she was originally going to be "obsessed" with, well, not really parties themselves, but I think also something like delivering congratulations messages *in person* (Celstia forbid) to people for small things...I can't really explain, here's what Lauren said from the drawing description:
