So far we have had Gilda and Trixie redeemed while also  giving us a nice changeling. There are clues that they might redeem Flim and Flam, Queen Chrysalis and Lightning Dust too. What is your opinion on this?

i do see a trend apearing and it would make sence because of the messages of "forgiveness" within the series...

i would like to see Equestria all peaceful, but only at the end... that way we are satisfied.

It's nice, but I'd prefer some villians to remain undefeated. It's a bit unrealistic to have all the bad guys redeemed, happy, and filled with the magic of friendship.

Thorax is a different case since well, he never seemed to actually be evil at all, just happened to be part of Chrysalis's hive and followed her orders until he decided enough was enough and left.

I doubt Chrysalis will ever be redeemed, wouldn't make much sense, and Thorax was a bit like Fin from TFA, he just did what he was ordered to do until he got fed up and quit.

 

As for other redemptions, I can see a case for Lightning Dust, but for all that is holy please don't do it with Flim Flam

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I am %100 fine with redeeming characters. one of the most important aspects of friendship is being able to forgive, and considering the subtitle of the show is Friendship is Magic, it goes with the theme perfectly. Even Chrysalis would make sense. Thorax provide us with an important piece of information: The changelings can sustain themselves with the love they would have for each other. Many hate the idea of Chrysalis being reformed, but isn't it a nice thought that Chrysalis and her children would not longer have to attack the ponies and live in this endless struggle and actually be able to live in peace? For a positive show like this, I like that idea. We have already seen her be this huge, menacing threat, now I would love to see the opposite side of that coin.

 

Lightning Dust and FlimFlam are just a given at this point.

I believe redeeming villans is one the one side something good but also boring. I personally have learned, that forgiveness isn't always a good thing. Because it shows, that you are "weak". And the other party might use that. So, before a villan is to be redeemed, he needs to be kicked in the butt alot!

There also have to be some villans that are just evil. Not born with a good spirit. That need to be defeated, like tirek.

But i think the show does that well already, as long as not all villans are to be redeemed i'm fine with it.

 

If all jerks are to redeemed, i'm fine with it.

 

But villans should stay evil. There can be no good, if there is no bad.

After Starlight's pretty bad character reformation from the season 5 finale, I am a bit worried about the series ever trying to redeeming any villains or antagonists.

And I managed to realize that the show never really was that good at it in the first place.

Plus we have already seen either 8 or 9 characters reformed by now, I want to see something different done with villains in the show.

But if we had to go with a reformation, I guess I would be okay with Lighting Dust as she was more of an everyday kind of jerk than a sociopath monster.

Whatever happens, I would rather see Chrysalis be killed off than be reformed.
