Well, rock and roll comes from rockabilly, so its fine. Just no hard rock, glam rock, punk, electronic, metal or any of that.

 

So pure rock and rock and roll only.

I'm just going to be honest - I don't really care for country. At work they oftentimes play this modern country station and I just don't care for it. D:

 

They once played a classic country station, it wasn't so bad.

 

But I'm not posting here to hate! I try to be very open-minded to all kinds of music.

 

I don't know if this can be counted as country, but it at least has a classic country feel, I like it.

Awww yeah, bluegrass! Yeah, not a big fan of modern country either, but classic country, Hank Williams Senior, Johniny Horton, Johnny Cash, its all pretty good if you take the time to listen to it. I prefer roickabilly best though, so I'll probably bust some of that later on, the song up there called Summertime Blues is a rockabilly song, you like it?

The true king of country. I've even heard this called the first rock and roll song. Pretty neat huh? RIP Hank Williams Senior. His son, Hank Junior is good too, and Hank III does some sweet alternative country, check him out in Crispys posts above.

@Narutardedscum: That is pretty much the most stereotypical Southern Rock song ever. Not my favorite either, personally. Perhaps I've just heard it too many times.

I really like America, though. Both them and the Eagles.

@swordfishtrombone: I recall going over that style (Hank Williams) in a popular music history class I took. I was shocked at how different (and so much better IMO) it is than modern country. I even recall my professor playing an early Country Blues (I believe that's what the genre is specifically called) song with jazz influence (in instrumentation at least). I have already posted this somewhere else but it was the only song I could think of since I heard it just a few months ago in the swedish "Melodifestivalen", pre-cometition to "Eurovision Song Contest"
