Out of curiousity, What's wrong with joining the army?

Everyone has their own preferences on branches of the military and which ones are the best. Though he jests, I'm sure he doesn't mean anything bad by it since we all know that all of our branches play a vital role in protecting those things we hold dear- the same as the unity of the nations that help to bring just a little more peace to the world.

i mostly meant infantry its good pay but its hard work and you reach a point where you hate doing it but you can't leave because you don't have any useful skills for the outside world

It's all sunshine and rainbows at first but you later on start to think about what you will do once you leave. You then realise you went into a role that offers nothing for you once you start searching for a job. Here in the UK, roles are starting to become a lot more specialised, as in, you must have a preferred profession  when joining so you can benefit from your time serving in the Army once you're done. It isn't forced on you to have a specialised role but it's very encouraged to do so. I believe the Engineering sector of the army is the best for getting a lot of qualifications for civey life.

I almost joined the Army once. Almost.

 

Fortunately I thought twice what I was doing and now I'm a happy NEET with a pretty comfortable life. I'd rather post on a pony forum from mom's basement than dying in Shitfuckistan to make other people richer as they sell even more weapons and whatnot, it's not even patriotic or even smart anymore.

 

I could care less they bomb a bunch of poor countries I never heard about.

Not trying to rustle your jimmies, dawg. Sorry I sounded rude.

 

But honestly, war isn't truly a good thing and I'm happy I didn't join the military.

 

I had ended with PTSD or something else anyway. Maybe I took the cowardest the decision in the end, but I prefer being a coward.
