Tilgoreth 1,915 November 17, 2016 Share November 17, 2016 I just don't think another fan base like bronys will ever happen. MLP was special. It can really only happen once. I don't think another show will ever come along that compares to MOp and would allow a similar fan base to develop. 2 Signature made by Kyoshi. Chuckles4lyfe 441 November 17, 2016 Share November 17, 2016 I am going to have to agree with you on this one. While I consider myself an optimist, I don't think we will ever see another "Brony phenomenon" ever again. Hasbro struck gold with the franchise, and I don't think they'll be able to do it again. I think that's why they're so hesitant on ending FIM. Who knows? Maybe if another show comes out on a night when all of the planets and stars align, then it will happen again. There is always a small chance where anything can happen 4 #Squadgoals "But that day...The day I discovered racing...I proved that the legends were true. Ganondorf8 11,445 November 17, 2016 Share November 17, 2016 I have to agree with you here. The brony phenomenon can be seen as a once-in-a-lifetime moment given how Friendship is Magic defied so many different conventions while adhering to the age group that it was created for. Even if we were to receive a generation five that ends up being better than generation four, what happened regarding bronies is unlikely to be repeated again.
Lil Pip 775 November 17, 2016 Share November 17, 2016 I disagree because there were already massive fandoms for stuff like Star Trek, Pokemon, Harry Potter. Granted the audience was unpredictable with bronies, the future is quite long I imagine, so there is ample enough time for something like it to occur again.
Scarlet SoftPaws 3,586 November 17, 2016 Share November 17, 2016 It depends on a few things: 1) if G5 is as a good as this one has been (well up to a certain point imo) 2) If people keep the interest in the fandom and franchise after the end of G4 and 3) If the Filly Funtasia tv series actually becomes a thing (I honestly kind of hope it does) 2 Signature by Myself! PinkiePie97 913 November 17, 2016 Share November 17, 2016 Even if something like MLP does come along again, I don't think it will be as big a deal since this sort of thing has already happened. Grown men liking something meant for girls may still be unusual, but since that's already happened with MLP, it din't think it will be as big a deal if it happens with something else. 4 Cartoon Info - A blog where I post info on cartoons I'm interested in writing about. Baykush 328 November 17, 2016 Share November 17, 2016 Didn't they try to do it with Littlest Pet Shop? A lot of people gave it a shot because of MLP, and I've heard it's not bad (I wouldn't know though, I've only watched half of the pilot), anyway, my answer would be no. MLP is a very unique case, so unique that any similar thing would be considered just a continuation of the brony phenomenon, if a show that most people consider to be for 3-6 year old girls can be genuinely enjoyed and analyzed by adults what's next? Television for babies? I really doubt something like that would happen
Luminance 2,187 November 17, 2016 Share November 17, 2016 Probably not because Bronies are here to stay. There can only be fluctuations in the number of fans joining or leaving but a sudden rise of fans are by chance very likely to happen again rather than another phenomenon. Unless the Movie proves otherwise...

MLP has done a lot of things, but there will always be new fandoms to rise and take over when the old wears out. MLP opened a few doors, and it is not like those doors will close, so it will be up to something else to take some of those ideas and run with them. 3 ~No profound statement needed~

Granted the audience was unpredictable with bronies, the future is quite long I imagine, so there is ample enough time for something like it to occur again. Yes but MLP was a show targets at young girls. Yet it developed a large adult male and female fandom. There's been hundreds of cartoons like MLP. And they have little to no adult fan base. It depends on a few things: 1) if G5 is as a good as this one has been (well up to a certain point imo) 2) If people keep the interest in the fandom and franchise after the end of G4 and 3) If the Filly Funtasia tv series actually becomes a thing (I honestly kind of hope it does) The fandom relies on new content though. But not with a little girls show devolving an adult fan base. Technically it's only happens on such scale once.Didn't they try to do it with Littlest Pet Shop? Quite possible, but if Filly Funtasia becomes a thing, then one of two things would happen, 1) a brand new fandom is born or 2) a lot of bronies will migrate to it. I have to admit, just from the teaser trailer it does look quite interesting 2 Signature by Myself! "Ara Ara"
