Well most of the "storys" if you can call it that of me almost getting caught are pretty simple as they just involve me having to switch tabs before someone opens the door or something.

Same here, I've had to close/switch tabs quite a few times and have paused episodes to check if my parents were coming by. I've been pretty close to being caught quite a few times, and I know I'll have to explain being a brony to them eventually, but I'm not sure when...and how...

In fact, that's how it's usually gone when I've brought it up to friends, and to strangers who were curious as to why I was buying pony toys in a store.

The closest I've ever come to being "caught" was when my friends and I were watching the second season finale: my dad returned home from work in the middle of "This Day Aria." I wasn't hiding MLP from him, but I hadn't bothered to really inform him about it, either. He didn't seem to mind it at all.

 

So far, aside from my aforementioned friends, my dad and one of my cousins are aware of my affinity for MLP. Though I don't go looking to tell everyone about it, I don't deny it if asked.

The closest I've been to getting caught I suppose would be the time I was finishing the episodes A Canterlot Wedding part one and I really wanted to watch them because I had never seen them before and they were the last two I hadn't seen them yet being the finales. Well some people aren't very accepting of new ideas and oppose them instead. My parents and friends, for example, aren't very accepting of the show or it's fanbase. Some people are more open about it than others, understand that.

  I've been caught a few times.  My mom walked in while I was watching MLP on TV, but she didn't care.  She said it was cute that I like it   .  My dad also found out (I think) and didn't say anything, so I guess he doesn't care either or didn't notice.

 

  One of my roommates found out when he saw my cell phone wallpaper.  I said it was just some random picture I found and I didn't know what it was from, but he didn't buy it.  I eventually owned up to liking MLP, and he also didn't care.

 

  Another one of my roommates caught me on the forums, but he either didn't notice or didn't care.  I think he didn't know what I was on though and probably thought it was just some site.

I don't use pony wallpapers, mostly because I prefer having it space-y or something.

 

I watch/browse after everyone is asleep, mostly because I like to be productive during the day.

 

The pony music I listen to is in a youtube downloader app on my IPod that no one would think to open, and my IPod is locked, although any fans of a certain BBC show could get it.

 

Although I try to justify hiding it I still do it on purpose, it's just in my nature. I'm one of those people that waits for others to make their move first.
