Zygen 6,066 October 21, 2012 Share October 21, 2012 Well most of the "storys" if you can call it that of me almost getting caught are pretty simple as they just involve me having to switch tabs before someone opens the door or something. I've never had much of anything to eventful happen to make a whole story about it though. 1 Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! Flicker Sweet 3,391 October 21, 2012 Share October 21, 2012 I am not a closet brony. The way things work in Texas is: If you have the balls to go out and publicly admit to something, nobody is allowed to say anything negative to you about it. Inversely, if you act very shy and self-conscious about something, prepare for hell......

AegisReflector 886 October 22, 2012 Share October 22, 2012 I can honestly say that since this was in General Discussion and there's a whole other meaning with the term "getting caught"......I thought this would be one interesting topic. Kind of disappointed. Anyways, I openly express my Brony personality so there really isn't any need for me to hide anything lol.
Crystal Skull 53 October 22, 2012 Share October 22, 2012 This happened when I first started watching the show and didn't tell anyone. Have headphones in iPod sitting on couch facing wall. Mum walks in I turn my head to my right to look at her. Headphones fall out because of my head turning *ipod starts playing* pinkie pie what are you doing! I quickly plug headphones in. My mum looked at me with the hairy eyeball looking like wut? 1 I like video games!

I've never had much of anything to eventful happen to make a whole story about it though. Same here, I've had to close/switch tabs quite a few times and have paused episodes to check if my parents were coming by. I've been pretty close to being caught quite a few times, and I know I'll have to explain being a brony to them eventually, but I'm not sure when...and how...
Creamy Arty 6,252 October 22, 2012 Share October 22, 2012 (edited) I was caught when I said something to my parents like, "Hey. The newest iteration of My Little Pony is pretty awesome, and there are at least as many teenage/adult guys watching it as kid girls. There's not much overtly feminine about it these days aside from having a female cast. I like it more than those manly beat 'em ups I watched as a boy. Check out this Rainbow Dash wallpaper on my phone." In fact, that's how it's usually gone when I've brought it up to friends, and to strangers who were curious as to why I was buying pony toys in a store. 100% discovery rate. Coco Pommel 669 October 22, 2012 Share October 22, 2012 I've watched it on the bus, at high school (before I graduated), with friends, in front of my father, and other places, and it doesn't matter. v.v
SrFrog 927 October 22, 2012 Share October 22, 2012 I've actually watched the show with my parents on the room, their reaction? None, whatsoever. Than again, ponies isn't the most embarrassing to watch with my parents considering their fondness of soap operas. "Never give no manipulative bitch the benefit of the doubt" - Compa's grandpa... Yellow Diamond 7,575 October 22, 2012 Share October 22, 2012 The closest I've ever come to being "caught" was when my friends and I were watching the second season finale: my dad returned home from work in the middle of "This Day Aria." I wasn't hiding MLP from him, but I hadn't bothered to really inform him about it, either. He didn't seem to mind it at all. So far, aside from my aforementioned friends, my dad and one of my cousins are aware of my affinity for MLP. Though I don't go looking to tell everyone about it, I don't deny it if asked. 3 Domine, tu omnia nosti, tu scis quia amo te.
Akemi Homura 7,680 October 22, 2012 Share October 22, 2012 I didn't hide it at all from my mom and watched "Griffon the Brush Off" with her just this past June. She actually thought Pinkie Pie was really funny and Gilda was, for the lack of a better term, an asshole. I don't hide the fact that I love My Little Pony from her and she's more than OK with it.
Lightning Fluttershy 1,844 October 22, 2012 Share October 22, 2012 I've never been "caught" watching ponies. The closest I've been to getting caught I suppose would be the time I was finishing the episodes A Canterlot Wedding part one and I really wanted to watch them because I had never seen them before and they were the last two I hadn't seen them yet being the finales. I waited until the very last second when my dad was coming down to close it. Of course I don't I don't have to worry about that now because my family knows I'm a brony.
Twilight Circuits 603 October 22, 2012 Share October 22, 2012 I flat out came out with it to my family. My two brothers and my roommate can see the attraction to the show but aren't full fledged bronies. My mom (dad is gone) gave me the funniest look that made me laugh. She still thinks it's so incredulous she won't talk about it. She doesn't care I watch it but still thinks it's strange. But then again, my mom's very old fashioned. 1 For I have saved your soul in the heavens, and now save it on the ground. - TwilighCelunaCircuits
Dautt 77 October 22, 2012 Share October 22, 2012 I don't care if people know or don't know and my mom probably wouldn't care since she never really got the concept of girl/boy toy/show/move she might know or she doesn't if she's seen my computer's wallpaper or screen saver she probably knows and I have no idea since I don't usually talk to my parents about what shows I watch unless they asked me about it. My parents and friends, for example, aren't very accepting of the show or it's fanbase. Some people are more open about it than others, understand that.

Super Writer 13 October 23, 2012 Share October 23, 2012 I occasionally wear a Derpy t-shirt in public. With an open aloha shirt over it and plaid pants. I'm a walking fashion disaster. I have nothing to hide. However I once closed a pony tab when someone was walking in and they thought I was a closet brony. Ghost 173 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 I've been caught a few times. My mom walked in while I was watching MLP on TV, but she didn't care. She said it was cute that I like it . My dad also found out (I think) and didn't say anything, so I guess he doesn't care either or didn't notice. One of my roommates found out when he saw my cell phone wallpaper. I said it was just some random picture I found and I didn't know what it was from, but he didn't buy it. I eventually owned up to liking MLP, and he also didn't care. Another one of my roommates caught me on the forums, but he either didn't notice or didn't care. I think he didn't know what I was on though and probably thought it was just some site. --Eve-- 351 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 (edited) I don't have to try too hard to not get 'caught'. I don't use pony wallpapers, mostly because I prefer having it space-y or something. I watch/browse after everyone is asleep, mostly because I like to be productive during the day. The pony music I listen to is in a youtube downloader app on my IPod that no one would think to open, and my IPod is locked, although any fans of a certain BBC show could get it. Although I try to justify hiding it I still do it on purpose, it's just in my nature. I'm one of those people that waits for others to make their move first. Untitled Goose Q 5,137 July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 I don't bother hiding it, but nor do I throw it in the open. But I'm pretty sure everyone knows now, and only one person objects.
