There's a pirate arc in the comics with sea ponies in it. So, they at least exist within the FiM universe.

I think there should be sea ponies. We've seen crystal ponies in season 3 and breezies in season 4 so maybe we'll see sea ponies in season 5.

Yes, I would like to see other types of ponies, like the breezies. I liked the breezies because they were new and original.

They're actually called Mermares, but yes, there are. They seem nice. Apparently there's a children's picture book that has actual sea ponies in it. I don't consider anything outside the main series and the comics canon though. I would actually like to see sea ponies in the series at some point. When I first heard about sea ponies, I was intrigued. They are a part of the MLP mythos, for better or worse. I think they would make a great addition, though obviously only in a one off episode or comic story arc, since the Mane Six and Spike don't actually live anywhere near a large body of water.

 

Now that I've dipped my feet in G1, I actually kind of like those sea ponies. They sing all the time, but they're the only ones who can IMHO, at least consistently. Other characters insist on singing, but I don't much care for most of the songs in the series. The sea ponies are pretty fun in that series, and they're better than G1 earth ponies who have none of the advantages of G4 earth ponies, and pretty much suck compared to all other types.
