Second most online dating apps, at least those using it around where I live, are mostly looking for hookups. The ones I found that seemed decent enough online were completely different people in person. Not good people. Ive also due to covid have ran into a lot of people already in committed relationships looking for friends or just seeing how many likes they can get. People can and do easily lie about themselves online. I prefer in person dating. However that’s going to be nearly impossible to do for awhile. Not only that I value personality and mutual interests over appearance. I’ve went out on dates with people far “above my league” in the looks department and learned instantly why they’re still single. Nothings uglier than a bad personality. One of my last dates I tipped the waitress extra because I was so embarrassed/felt bad for how nasty this chick was to her. Unfortunately online this sort of thing didn’t show. I didn’t see who she truly was till in person. I think having someone in that sense would screw me over, having to make compromises all the time, sure certain things are easier to manage with two people but so what. I don't think clinging to someone will help and I don't want to give all my care to just one person and feel closed or less open to everything else.
