gaming Original Xbox games you'd like to see on Xbox One

For those that may not know, original Xbox compatibility is coming to Xbox one. Like the 360 games, the selection will be determined by publishers AKA the rights holders. Microsoft also has said that the selection for original Xbox will not be as expansive as the 360 titles. Still, it is really cool to see them bringing the original Xbox back into the limelight, with all original features intact as well.

Are there any particular games you would love to see be chosen?

For me, I have a number 1 pick: Stubbs the Zombie.

This game was a violent comedy/action game where you played as a zombie out for revenge. The game featured tons of humor, a really cool setting, a great soundtrack and a unique concept for its gameplay. The main problem it had was that it was short, but I loved the game. If they could bring it back on the Xbox One, I would be buying it without hesitation, since I don't think I own my original copy and getting the game on disc isn't exactly cheap these days.

Another one and this one is very, VERY unlikely, but Spongebob Squarepants Movie, the Game.

One of my favorite movie-tie in games, this one was a classic for me. The visuals were lovely and it had a surprising variety of gameplay, with some very difficult portions to back it up. It is simply a very solid 3D adventure game.

Now comes one that will never happen: Rollercoaster Tycoon

Rollercoaster Tycoon is by far one of my favorite games ever created and it still holds up to near perfection today. Some may not know that it had an incarnation on the original Xbox and it was a console exclusive for the time. While the controls were obviously not perfect, I feel the developers did a fantastic job in the transition to a controller. Definitely cumbersome at first, but I eventually got used to it and loved it. Some people apparently despise this version due to the controls, but I don't see the problem after the initial learning curve.

  • Spy vs Spy The Game
  • Spongebob Squarepants Battle For Bikini Bottom
  • Spongbob Squarepants The Movie

          And

  • Destroy All Humans 1 and 2

These 5 are at the top of my list, there are more games I wanna see but I want to see these ones make a comeback.... especially Spy vs Spy

Jet Set Radio Future. The OG launch title and a cult classic.Cool cell shaded style and fun rail grinding, street tagging, rebellious game play and a kickin sound track. It's like the love child of GTA & Tony Hawk's pro skater were raised in Japan.

I think the Dead Or Alive games would translate well, especially if it were the ultimate editions of one and two. Updated the graphics and added a bunch of bonus content. Though I'd argue the best of the three, and the franchise as a whole was DOA 3. My favorite fighting game. Well balanced. A more streamlined, serious story line. The best co-op modes. It's what got me into the series as a whole.

Star wars republic commandos was pretty cool. Ahead of it's time in a few regards.Pretty much what Star Wars battlefield shoudl have been.

One of the earliest ones I did play was Robotech: Battlecry. Cell shaded graphics that complimented it's anime style very well. You get to pilot a transforming giant robot and shoot at hordes of enemy alien giants. What's not to like?

Of course, if we're talking giant robot games, then we must mention the greatest of them all. The most American game on the planet:

Shenmue 2 is the first one that comes to mind. The second one is...and don't judge me, but Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball. I never owned an original Xbox, but I loved playing this game at my cousin's house.

All of them. I never had an Xbox before the 360 and there's lots of games I missed out on.

Project Breakdown is the only one I know the actual name of though.

Im ALWAYS for backwards compatibility. Even if its not used often I still think its a neato feature. At least software emulation should be relatively inexpensive so i'm always a little disappointed in Sony when they make consoles that arn't backwards. Id like to think my PS3 can play PSone games out of the box but noooo they want me to buy the games again on PSN.

I've heard that XboneX is going to be backwards compatible and while that did seem at least interesting I have to agree with others who've said...VERY unlikely to be used. I know some people play Xbox Classic games still but very far and few inbetween. It really was an awkward little console between Nintendo's gamecube and Sony PS2 so was not surprised when very few exclusives made it stand out. Still its something that should be consistently done just out of consideration for the consumers. Makes it so I dont have to keep older consoles to play my older games on.

Totally agree on the Spongebob Squarepants the movie game.

I would say Star Wars KOTOR 1 and maybe 2 if they would allow for restored content that's playable and doesn't drag ass.

Oddworld Munch's Oddysee and Battle for Bikini Bottom

Edit: oh just realized you didn't mean remastered. But either way those games should be made compatible.

Munch's Odyssey is a good choice, I remember watching my brother play that one back in the day. Seemed really neat. :3

Another game I would love to see but sadly may never happen is True Crime Streets of LA. A game that used the GTA style but actually made it pretty unique with its cop gameplay and its really cool fighting system.

That game was seriously cool for its time.
