Season 8 could potentially be the best season!

I did try to defend it a little, because I liked the majority of episodes there, which immediately put it above season 5 for me.

It really could be the best. The editors of Season 7 are here, along with Eric Harber(who does well with supporting characters) so while the two writers focus on the Mane 6, Harber will focus on everypony eles.

plus having music from the movie doesn't hurt either.

Even if Haber wasn't back as Story editor, S7 has set the bar really high imo
