THATS RIGHT EVERYPONY, THE BIGGEST EVENT EACH YEAR IN VIDEO GAMES, AND I'M TALKING ABOUT E3! This June, the biggest event is gonna happen, are you hype? I know I am!

This thread is dedicated to discussing the E3, each of the companies events, as well as predictions. I will be dead honest, I only really watch the Nintendo one, and look at the highlights of Microsoft and Sony, as well as anything I might have missed. So while I can't make any detailed descriptions on my predictions of M and S, I will give off what I expect to hear from them.

Sony Prediction

First of all, we will NOT hear anything about the PS4. That is a fact that you will just have to accept. I am sorry, but it is true. The Vita sales are down, and if they want to turn it around like Nintendo did with the 3DS, it would be in their best interest to bring attention to the Vita, and give gamers a reason to want one. We also might hear some news about their Smash Bros. Clone.

Microsoft Prediction

They have also confirmed to NOT have a 720 there. I expect Halo 4 news (Yay!) and Kinect news. Meh...

Nintendo Prediction

Alrighty, so we all know about the WiiU, right? Well, they're gonna have the only next-gen console there, so they'll already have plenty of interest, so they need to use that interest to their advantage, and hype people up as much as possible about the WiiU. If they do not make a spectacular impression here, it will be a bumpy ride for the WiiU, which Nintendo already experienced with the 3DS, and I doubt they want to go through it again.

Due to this, we will not hear much about the 3DS, maybe one or two new titles, but nothing jaw-dropping that would detract attention from the WiiU. Maybe looks at Animal Crossing 3D, Luigi's Mansion 2, New Super Mario Bros. 2, Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2, etc. Oh, and we ain't gonna hear anything worthwhile about the Wii.* : P

WiiU wise, i expect we'll hear news about Pikmin 3, a long awaited title that shares it three with Half-Life, New Super Mario Bros. Mii, and more. Ninty does want to attract the hardcore market to them, so they'll probably show off some 'hardcore mature' titles. There were rumors about a game called 'Acid Ghost' where you played as a Ghost on a cruise ship and screwed around with the passengers, and Eminem sponsored it, but recent developments are making it look a bit fake. But eh, you never know...

We will also, sorry to burst any hopes, but we will NOT hear news about SSB4. Sakurai said he would start work on it when he finished Kid Icarus Uprising, which was released in March. So honestly, in the time frame he has, I doubt there'll be anything to show of SSB4 by the time E3 rolls around.

*However, It is Kirby's 20th anniversary. And the big N has already announced a release of a collection of Kirby games for the Wii, similar to the Mario All-Stars Disc. HOWEVER, that game was simply a ROM dump on a disc. There has never been a compilation of Kirby games released ever. So they'll have to make one from scratch, which makes me curious to see what they do with this. Also, a majority of the Pink Puffball's adventures are on handhelds, so will they port those on the Wii, or only use exclusive console titles? Who knows. I also expect we'll see an original Kirby WiiU game at E3, While I don't expect Kirby to get the Mario or Zelda Anniversary treatment, I do expect he'll be better treated then Metroid was.

Anyway, those are my predictions. Agree? Disagree? Predictions/Hopes of your own? Post them here, and when E3 rolls around in June, we'll check and see how many of us were right! ^ . ^

I expect Nintendo to dominate like always and for Sony and Microsoft to be extra bland. Maybe they'll unveil their new $600 console with upgraded graphics chip and nothing else unique.

I suspect the next gen xbox and playstation will have a touchscreen on their controllers though

E3; This year is going to be HUGE for game devs. At least third party. I can't wait on some more Crysis 3 info. As I am a big fan of that series. SO ready for prophet to come back!

AC III: A revolutionary step for the series (no pun intended). We're seeing a new engine, more then 1,000 models in full animation on the screen at once. IF they can homerun this, the game will be perfect. As from what I've seen the game has a crap ton of new features, still maintaining the smooth flow that AC brings.

FarCry 3:And I REALLY mean it when I say I saved the best for last. FarCry is one of the most immersive series of games ever. I really can say that from my point. They really capture your emotions from the get-go with REAL objectives/story that is very fun and logical. FC instincts was an exception, but tit wasn't really even FarCry for me. It was more of a Crysis thing goin'. Now, the real focus I have on this series is 2. FarCry 2 This game after 4 yearsis still my 2nd fav game to date. The game is amazing in everyway. In this gaming era, if it were to come out tomorrow I'd grab it off launch. I loved the sneaking aspect of FarCry 2, it was really intense and believable. Now when I say believable, I mean it if you're spotted that one guy will try to yell out, shoot whatever, if you can silence him before you're good. And it's reasonable! The whole concept of sneaking in the game. Another thing I enjoyed, was the conveyance. I think that the whole game was conveyed SEEMLESSLY. No bugs to deal with, no audio/video problems. It was solid, and it was conveyed like that. Every piece that was even slightly emphasized in the game was completely polished and pristine. All this is on a perfect level. Speaking of levels...This game was Unbelievably beautiful, topping just about every game on the market today including skyrim. They had the whole african area down pact. The guard outposts which gave you a desicion, am I going to go right through? Am I going to sneak by? Or will I kill them all headstrong. Which branched to even more choices. Which was so polished, polished to the point you could get your little data thing and mark out your whole entire, plan of attacking the village on your map. The weapons were fabulous! So many, all of them had specific damage, accuracy...etc, you could optimize for your sweet spot and range down to the button. This played a HUMONGO role in your game. wether you sniped everyone out from a distance. you can rush, sneak, snipe, blow up, whatever you want. The storyline brought me to tears in several points. IT brings you up to having your love friendship with certain characters. You trust them, personally developing a connection. Through dialogue and actions. Such as saving you or simplizing a plan. And then suddenly cutting your ties at the perfect moment to make you so emotional. And the way they do it is EPIC. Thaaaaat's all I want to say about that.

Hideo Kojima: The mans a genius. His booth will be groundbreaking as is every year for him. Hideo is most likely going to reveal MGS 5, along with another game completely I'm thinking. MG:R, gimme a break. I am looking forward to this as well. Ready to see the best game in the world take a step forward. Hopefully another 100 steps forward as Hideo's genius brains push the developing along.

Can't wait for Nintendo's conference, expecting really big things from them. Hope they have a really great Wii U title or 2 to show off, a Smash 4 trailer would be nice too.

Valve won't be making any announcements at E3 this year. So E3 is already shot for me unless id has something on Doom 4.

FINALLY! Now that I have this thread within my grasp, I shall commence my useless TL;DR-tier posting! Now....I go!!!!

Anyways, here's what I think of this year's E3...basically, I think the best of the best in game development are getting lazier and lazier each year...I mean, it's not that easy anymore to make a simple game (excluding Minecraft, which is in fact not all that simple when you think about it...), and revcieve almighty reception and everlasting popularity from fans as it was in the 00s/90s...I mean there are still amazing games out there, but as they are being appraised, they are more being attacked with criticism. Not mpto mention we are in the same era movies are in, most sequels aren't worth it and are just a result of money being squeezed out by the gaming industry...Also, it's kinda concerning that Valve skimped out this year, and also from the fact the Nintendo AND Sega are skipping Gamescom in Germany this year...really?!

So now that I got the overview over with, I'm continuing with what I expect snd would like to see from the individual companies.

Nintendo: Who I am most excited to see this year. They've taken a few years to develop what will be the first home console of the 8th generation. They've wowed us like never before with the miracle of the 3DS, now they just have to top it off with the Wii U sandwich. Basically, everything up till now that we all know about the Wii U (including recently that the controller was slightly modified.). So many new opportunities and developer tools, will help make this generation even better than the 7th! I can't wait to hopefully see that Nintendo is finally catching up with tho other two in terms of technology quality (finally, Mario, Metroid, Zelda and Smash Bros, in sweet, sweet 1080p and 60 FPS). It'd be great to see all kinda of third party support for the system, I just wish it was marketed as something other than something that seems like a mere upgrade to the Wii, rather than a completely new system. Nevertheless, I'm so ready for the grand preirmeire of the Wii U.

Speaking of the Wii U, I can't wait to see what kind of games that'll be showcased, including upgraded ports of Arkham City and DiRT 3. The Zelda they had last year was quite a shock to see, though I doubt it'll turn into an actual mainstream Zelda game (kinda like the Zelda OoT-esque preview for the Gamecube at SpaceWorld 2000, we later got Wind Waker). So many opportunities to revise and revive underlooked and seemingly forgotten franchises that need new sequels BADLY. Like, um, Idunno, F-Zero, Star Fox, something like that... But in all seriousness, we could see some HD fury coming out of new games based off their top-selling franchsies, as well as making the most out of the controller. I mean, that thing is going to revolutionize gaming, I just know it.

Also, I'm more than psyched for the new Super Smash Bros. game, Nintendo and HAL's flagship masterpiece franchise that combines all the wonderful worlds of Nintendo into one addictive, fun, and legendary fighting video game. Not much too say at this point, but I hope they extend their third party roster, as well as an all-new story mode that much improves the last one, as well as being longer and more extensive.

As for the 3DS, I'd say everything's in good spirits for now. Looking forward to many anticipated awesome games that are still waiting for a release date: Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion 2, and who can forget about that new Zelda game? Seriously, a made-from -scratch Zelda game...for the 3DS? I can't wait! (and once they finish that, then they'll have to start working on Majora's Mask 3D, but that can wait for a bit :P). One game in particular that I'd hope to see more stuff on is New Super Mario Bros. 2. I mean, c'mon, it had to just happen! So far, the game looks as amazing as the first two (yes, this is the 3rd NSMB game, so I don't know why they're calling it "2"... :| ), graphically they are probably some of the best-looking games on their respective systems.

I've noticed somewhat a recurring theme in 3DS games ever since its launch: Nintendo 64 remakes. I can't express how awesome I'd feel if they announced a new one, because so far, Star Fox 64 3D and OoT 3D are among the absolute best games on the 3DS. I wish people would ignore the negative things about remakes, because they are amazing revivals that allow future and younger generations, as well as ours once again, to enjoy the games we played as a kid! Seriously, I'd love to see a remake of say...uh...maybe Yoshi's Story, or Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Speaking of remakes, I'm all for more 3D Classics, those games are amazing.

Sony: Not much info we know, but the PS4 will likely be released the next two or three years. The Last of Us particularly interests me, because it is being made by the geniuses as Naughty Dog, who have made the massively award-winning Uncharted series. Also, I'm looking forward to a game called PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. In short, it's basically a clone of Smash Bros., but don't get me wrong, as a Sony fan and Nintendo fan, I know enough about Smash Bros. to know that this one is going to be excellent.

Microsoft: Probably the least interested. Halo 4 is sure to blow minds, as well as more innovative Kinect stuff, but besides that, nothing much else.

(thanks for hopingly having enough patience to read all of that, lol ^^)

I'm really only into Nintendo. I'm very excited for an HD console, but Nintendo won't have anything to show for it at this E3 that will interest me. SSB4 is still a long ways out and Skyward Sword was just released so a new SSB and Zelda are ruled out. And, of course, Nintendo is more interested in showing New Super Mario Bros. Mii than an brand new open world 3D Mario. So... Not really looking forward to the Wii U portion, aside from details of the system.

The 3DS part is what I'm really waiting for. I don't expect any new titles to excite me. Although I suppose they could pull something like Golden Sun 4. What I'm excited for is details on Animal Crossing 3DS. I've been waiting forever for the game. Unfortunately, after taking so long to develop it, my expectations are rising way too high and I don't foresee the game actually being able to meet those expectations. We're talking about a series with City Folk, a port that managed to be worse than the game it was a port of. I think AC:3DS will be far better than CF, but whether or not it can be better than the original GCN version is still to be seen.

Other than that I predict they will show New Super Mario Bros. 2, which I honestly couldn't care less about. I'm hoping they find the time to show Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion 2.

Any E3 all I ever do is look at a list of what all was announced and pick and choose my favorites and watch it on Youtube. I don't care to sit through the whole conference.

  • I'll definitely wanna check out what they announce about the Wii-U
  • Definitely looking forward to seeing something about Final Fantasy Versus XIII finally since it's been in full production mode for a few months now they might have SOMETHING substantial for us.
  • Definitely gonna keep my eye out for any RPGs since that's my genre of choice.
  • I wanna see what Heavy Rain's dev will do with the Kara engine from last year. Hopefully they show something this year. I still have yet to play Heavy Rain but from what I have played of the demo I think I wanna see what else the dev can do.
  • I don't remember where but I heard somewhere that the next Playstation and Xbox may very well be one console this gen. Who knows how that'll go though. Remember that the new Playstation's codename is Orbis and that's about all we know.
And of course I'll keep my eye on a bunch of games they announce RPG or not. E3 always leaves at least a few things to really look forward to. I wonder if Insomnia scrapped Overstrike cuz I haven't seen anything about it since it was announced at...I think it was last E3, or maybe the one before it.

Oh and E3 tends to be where Sega announces their new Sonic titles so if they are doing anything at all after Sonic Generations this'll be the place to find out about it besides TGS (Tokyo Game Show, for those who don't know), which I don't really keep up with at all.

Microsoft : Forza Horizon an open world driving game. This is going to be awesome. An realistic driving experience and open world? The BEST.POSSIBLE.THING.EVER! Also rumored dashboard overhaul.

Sony: Want to see how they save themselves this time.

Nintendo: Looking foward to the handheld to be honest. I've bought a 3DS in Feb. and only own one game for it. (MK7) I wanna see info on Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion 2 and Kirby. I've never owned a Kirby game before so I want to get in the series any suggestions?

EA: Need for Speed

I've put faith into The Run(BlackBox) and it let me down. Poor support and bad programming and game design. Offline fun to a point. Online is punishement. 2010's game was Hot Pursuit and I loved it and still play it. Classic NFS style(their was games before Underground) arcade physics with a lot of depth. The landscape is beautful and takes you to another state of mind. Best part was multiplayer was get this FUN! The standard game modes were fun and exciting and with the Armed and Dangerous pack it just got even better. I got a bit carried away my point is that the developer of that game is none other than Criterion Games home of the Burnout series.

Rumor this year is their in charge of cleaning up after the Run and once again bringing NFS back to one of it's points in glory. Most Wanted. Anypony remembered that? BTgames the same story that leaked Dead Space 3 and Jak Daxter Collection leaked Most Wanted 2 as a game. Criterion's job description matches it

http://www.gamespot.com/news/criterion-hiring-for-open-world-racer-on-new-platforms-6327358

ALSO unlike many companies their actually optimizing it for handhelds!

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/17/report-need-for-speed-hot-pursuit-devs-working-on-vita-title

And I just found this

http://www.teamvvv.com/en/news/comments/Criterion-hiring-Cinematic-Cut-Scene-Artist-for-new-Need-for-Speed

The old Most Wanted had loveable cheesy cutscenes.

YES! As long as Criterion is behind it all should be well.

Yay, fellow Animal crossing Fan. :)

The wii version was disappointing, but maybe it was because it was hard for me to take care of things in the town. A portable game may be just what I need. Also, from what I've seen, it seems to be promising.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm also looking forward to Pikmin 3. Been waiting FOREVER since its been announced. I love Pikmin! /)^3^(

Looking forward to the concept. :)

As for SSB4. Who knows. Although I want to see it, the possibilities seem low.

I'm an nintendo fanboy, (that and my mom won't get me an xbox360 and Playstation 3 anyway), so all the other companies don't matter to me.

Yes, i'm really excited for this year's E3, i hope Nintendo pulls the trigger with the things they will reveal. Any specific game? Naa whatever Nintendo shows is interesting.. <3

Though i would like to see much more of Wii U, and it's true power. I'm tired of speculation tbh and

i want the official word from big N! x)

Kinda don't like Turn 10's decision there....I think there are many games suitable for the open-world/sandbox sub-genre of racing...those games are GTA, Driver, Burnout, Need for Speed, Test Drive, etc...they should just stick to being competitive to Gran Turismo...not to mention that they should wait another year to keep the same recurring release schedule of Forza games: every two years... :(

For me it had nothing to do with the console it was on. I started with Animal Crossing GCN, so I'm used to home console Animal Crossing anyway.

My problem with City Folk was that it was just so poorly done. It was thrown together very lazily. On top of that, strange decisions were made - like the final house size being smaller than Wild World's (and don't tell me it's the trade-off for everybody having their own house again, I won't take that nonsense. We're talking about an N64 game with slightly upgraded graphics on the Wii here. There's no excuse for not giving us the house size anyway) and the removal of villager pictures.

The only positive change it made (without any negatives) is the re-addition of holidays, but I feel like that was inevitable anyway.

It was just such a poor game. I don't know what happened... If the game got shafted for development of another, or if they had no intention of trying to begin with.

It's good their doing it as every other developer (TDU2 was a major fail) doesn't fully bake their cake. Don't worry it's being produced by Playground Games, so Turn 10 will still solely work on Motorsport.

Damm, now all the hype is starting to get to me and I still think it's a tiny bit early for that as there' a another week that needs to pass.In a few days though closer to the end of the month? Sure, that's when things will really start happening.

I'm interested in whatever Nintendo and Microsoft have to present and I'm not really interested in Sony as I only ever owned a PS1.

I like all news from the two as I'm interested in seeing where the company is going next but there is some games I like more then others but it's not until they get announced at E3 that I really get exited as I often forget about them unless I'm making an effort to keep up to date with what happing with the said game. I'll probably stay up late watching the two conferences streamed as I did last year as it's a great way to spend the night :D
