I think I understand why the CMC..

"Mark for the Effort" the CMC beg and are determined to join Twilight's school. Two reasons I think are trying, despite already mastering it and getting their marks.

1. After Surf and or Turf, they realize there is far more friendship to learn they may know Pony stuff, but they want to exchange and learn from other creatures.

 

2. They may be trying to learn independent lessons, free of state run education, they might feel is bias.

 

Think about they were a tad frightened of Gabby at first.

Think about it, imagine the Student 6 and CMC interacting and having fun together.

And School Raze Part 2, sounds like Twilight enrolls them(In Marks for the Effort) and they lead the school in defense against Cozy Glow and her marauder army.

 

My money is on this being Neighsay's end game plan to destroy the school with a private army.

Cozy Glow might be his daughter.

plus, I imagine Scoot and Smolder might become good if not...

I only want to see the students and CMCs to interact once in a Season 9 episode, but not more.

More room has to be saved for the other main characters, you know.

It's not even possible for the CMCs to become Blank Flanks again, unless Lord Tirek sucked their magic away. Maybe we'll see Diamond Tiara remind them that Miss Cheerilee's school still needs them for leadership and guidance.

Then again, there is the idea that Twilight doesn't WANT them to attend the school, because they would risk getting expelled from Miss Cheerilee's Schoolhouse and banned from attending any other school, because Miss Cheerilee is affiliated with the EEA, and it would be better to NOT stir up the Wumpbee's nest.
