High School Graduation Party

How was your high school graduation party? Did you enjoy it? Did your parents take it over or did you get full say in what happened?

When I was forced to write a creative nonfiction essay for my creative writing class in college, I wrote about how awful my graduation party was.

I graduated back in 2016, so...

If I remember correctly, my entire immediate family went out to a Japanese Hibachi place for dinner at one point. Other than that, it wasn't that much of a big deal. Never really made any good friends in High School so I didn't really care about throwing some huge party.

I graduated this year but I'm not having a party. I would have to plan the whole thing myself and eh I'm just too lazy, plus I don't really like parties to begin with . Plus I have enough parties for other people to go to. I don't know everyone super well but there's free food at least :nom:

My highschool one was just a private family eat out, but my college graduation party was with several friends. It was a blast, also the first time I've eaten a piece of cookie cake.

I graduated about two weeks ago, didn't have a party.
I don't really have any friends irl [maybe like, 2 or 3] so my mom said she'd take me to bronycon as a graduation present if I didn't want a party.

I didn't really attend a party, but I did go to the Senior Night at Disneyland after graduation where me and a bunch of my friends got super cross faded. It was kinda like a party. We had fun.

My secondary school graduation party was great.

Me and my classmates plus my teacher took a vacation together for 4 days.

And after that, we got an award for being the school with the highest average score in the state.

What a great way to end secondary school.

I'd say I was pretty happy at that time, so did my parents.

The only graduation party was for my eighth grade graduation because I dropped out after that and never looked back. And I didn't attend the party. Instead I got my silly diploma thingie and bolted for the car with my family, trying not to be seen by anyone I knew. That was far better than any party, at least for me.

My mom gave me the option of having either a graduation party (which I didn't really want anyways) or a graduation trip to anywhere I wanted. Obviously, I took the latter option and we ended up going to Trotcon out in Columbus, Ohio! Trotcon 2019 was the first MLP convention I had ever been too, and it was quite an amazing experience B) Hopefully conventions can come back soon because me and my mom are planning to return to Trotcon once they do and turn it into an annual type of thing! :squee:

Was fun. Bunch of games, we had a guy hypnotize a group of people, uhh... hmm. They had foosball too. Shoulda played as I would've kicked some butt, probably :pout: .

It was a lock-in. Thought it was weird that you had to stay in all night though. Can't remember what else we did.

I remember it was in the gymnasium area and I remember I spent a lot of it with my ex (who was just my friend at that time, and NO I did not like her like that back then), and some of my other friend group.

It's been over a decade now. I hardly remember a lot of it. I went back to my LJ to see if I had written anything about it back then, and all I wrote about it was "Overrated." LOL. So edgy. *rolls eyes* I mean there must have been some reason I actually went to the after party. Wonder if it was my friends being there.

Mine was basically a meal/family reunion with some neighbors. One classmate stopped by, but that was because they(his parents) were looking for my dad...

So considering that we dont really have family reunions(unless there is that rare chance that everyone's schedule lines up perfectly), and most of the time I only get to see my entire family at funerals or weddings, I liked it.

I didn't have one, it wasn't worth it. I didn't have many friends at all and I only "graduated" because the school showed pity towards me. I was part of a special education program and anyone else likely would have failed school outright, but they instead gave me a "certificate of completion". That basically amounts to "We know you are incredibly stupid and a total failure, but we feel sorry for you so here is this. Have fun failing at life." That's not worth celebrating. Neither am I overall.

I went to eat at one of my favorite local restaurants with my family, and that was it. I don't really have big celebrations for anything. They're just kind of weird to me.
