didn't I say it was American?

And that is a modern tank, never mind a main battle tank

I said it was a WWII-era American medium tank

one more hint: 49,234 were produced, and it was in service for the United States from 1942 to 1957

Dang. I would have never guessed that.

Image result for koenigseggGuess this. It might be easy though but it has a crazy name.

Thought I could read BMC on the nose badge, and as there are so many variations that all look so similar I wasn't going to try and guess/work  it out :)

Then looking again, it looked like MG

Didn't think MG had done any F1 style cars :)

Really had to dig deep to find that in all the 60s GP stuff, also helps to recognise Goodwood FOS and for them to have suuuuch a wide range of cars.

Another Anglo American partnership, American car, British engine.

Eagle MK1/T1G - must be the V12 as it has 6 visible exhausts and the T1F had a 4cyl.

(I post a car that looks like a Shelby, you post a Shelby. I post an Eagle, you post an Eagle. How many degrees of separation 🤔)

Here’s a hard one,and no the logo on the bumper isn’t a site or anything

"It's British"

Well, that served to hinder but ultimately help :)

The nose looks Pontiac Firebird-esque, but it's that upper body work that felt familiar but different.

It felt familiar as we had a

ffbe5e1060ed1749a025af9c6232e143.jpg

Ford Capri Mkiii (X-pack if I remember rightly) when I was young.

So I wondered if it was a race version of the Capri, but the Zakspeed is so disimilar and didn't have a road version, so it wasn't that. Was it a touring car version? No.

Whilst looking for pics of "Ford Capri", I started seeing "Mercury Capri" which has the right style of upper bodywork. So, it's a race version of that? NASCAR or CanAm or similar? No.

Then I'm seeing the name McLaren mentioned and in the top article for "Mercury Capri McLaren" there's an almost throwaway comment

"Today's Nice Price Mercury Capri is the McLaren, but not THAT McLaren"

Hmm, there must be some other version, an extra special edition.

ASC lead me to ASC Mustang McLaren and adding "orange" into the search string yielded results :)

It seems to feature with variations of name, I'll go with Ford Mustang M81 McLaren

...but is it really "British"? 🤔

The engine work was done by McLaren Engines of Linovia, Michigan which was Bruce's North American division of the company for Can-Am and Indy work

Jeez the stuff you learn from trawling the web :)

...such as seeing "meteotsunami" when now looking for Michigan's two letter code :derp:

...learning about the history of McLaren

...watching a yt vid about the last Ford Capris being built and hearing "Ford of Britain wanted their own version of the successful Mustang" guess that's why there's a similarity/familiarity to the Capri

...just where did Toyota get the inspiration for the Celica from? 🤔

I guess I should do something else for the remaining 45mins of this morning :)

@R.D.Dash should I stop posting examples for what I'm talking about?

ie the Toyota Celica for the "inspired by Mustang" example and Jay Leno's Mercedes Cabover car transporter

As they're examples rather than "guess what this is?"

@R.D.Dash it's not a case of being right or wrong, it was never intended to be one to guess at.

--------

"Where did Toyota get the inspiration for the Celica from?" ..and here's a pic of the Toyota Celica, it looks a bit like the Mustang. (So, not a Falcon)

----------

With the Cabover, maybe I should have said "I've seen something similar on Jay Leno's car programme, this is what I saw..."

---------

...and maybe there should be a pic here for people to guess at :)

It's fine. It appeared as a link to me for some reason instead of the whole image.
