Dynamo's ears perked as Jade had called out to him. He turned to face her as she gave him advice on recovering. "You've got it and thanks for both the concern and for letting me know. Night Jade and see you in the morning." He smiles with a nod as he slowly headed towards his room.

Once he made it to his room, the blue unicorn flipped the switch on the wall to illuminate the room. He sighed as he walked over to his bed, before plopping down upon the mattress. He looked up at the ceiling to recall the events of today. "Today was too close for comfort. We managed to get through, but it could've gone either way. I have a feeling that these next opponents are going to be even tougher." He paused, closing his eyes as he placed a hoof over his heart. "I just hope we'll all be able to get through all of this." He muttered softly to himself. He opened his eyes, while turning his head to look at the window that lead to the balcony of his room. His eyes glanced up to the stars that shimmered brightly in the sky. 'Dad. I know you can't hear what I'm thinking, but I'm doing just fine. It hasn't been easy since you've been gone, but I've managed just fine. I've worked hard and I made some great friends. I've also had help in getting past my problems with magic. I just hope you're proud of me dad. I don't know if you were there, but you were there when I needed you the most.' He thought, noticing a star twinkling brightly in the sky. His eyes widened slightly for a second, before he smiled softly. "Thank you and I love you dad." He slowly closed his eyes and allowed sleep to take hold of him.

Rose shook her head and said with a smile out of being polite, "You mistake my intention, sir, I'm merely having a friendly chat with Topaz here, cause who knows what will happen in the next few days." She didn't mention that she'll go all out against his team and might die in the process and wanted some dirt on the one called Mason, so it would give her a chance.

Your aura was enough for me to know. Fiery, confident, powerful but underdeveloped, young. If you're worried about me telling someone, don't be. I'll let you in on a secret that will put your mind at ease."

She took a deep breath and stood across from Frostflame, speaking in a whisper. She was still open for him to attack if he so chose. "I get it. You're alone and you want to stay that way. As someone who spent over half her life by herself, I understand why you aren't quick to trust. But you're not going to have to worry about me for long because I'm not going to be here for the finals."

She sat down with her hind legs crossed and closed her eyes. "I'm telling you, and only you, because I know you're the one who's not going to tell anyone. And I know you're not going to try to stop me, and I don't expect you to ask any questions either. That's why I've been so hard on the five of you. I don't have much time before you'll all be on your own. You're a smart lad, so I expect I won't have to explain this to you. I'm not worried about you killing me right now because you're not going to be the one to do it. I'm talking about something that needs to happen. Something that I can't have the others interfere in, understand?"

Frostflame, sheathed 'Immortal's Bane'... still not giving up, he continues to stay in character. "You hint at a dire future, though your assumptions in me are correct. If this is the destiny you seek, then who am I to stop you?" Frostflame adjusts his glove, before looking back up at Tricis. "Is there anything thing else you need to tell me?"

"Good. You'll ruin the fun if you try to hedge your bets." Rail gestured to one of his guards, and the guard helped her stand up. "We should be going. Maybe I'll see you tomorrow."

Rail and Topaz exited the bar.

Frostflame nodded, but he wasn't feeling tired. He left the hotel room and began to wander the area, he felt eyes watching him, but he mostly ignored it. Once he left the hotel area he stared down into the forest, then back at the more civilized areas. He continued to wander around at night, thinking to himself, and trying to muster any magic that hasn't forsaken him, but to no avail. Even the magic in his blade began to fade, with the lack of magic going through it... it'll only be a matter of time before the blade is left disenchanted once again. After a good hour or so it felt of wandering the area, he decided to return to his room. Once there he locked himself in tightly, before removing his attire. As he lied in bed he began playing with his hoof, pretending to cast frostflames... not even his signature spell worked. Eventually he fell asleep, unsure about tomorrow.

Rose nodded as they left and stood up to head outside. She had an idea, but it will need a lot of work to get it right and a magnitude that she will need. Once she was in the forest and alone, she found a clearing that was a coincidentally a circle and sat down in the middle and started on trying to make copies on her while coating herself in shadows

Long after the team went to rest...

Tricis walked silently through the hotel hallway with an even expression. When she neared the staircase, she saw Rail standing next to it, "This is later than we agreed." he said.

"Some of them stayed awake longer than I expected. There was nothing I could do."

Rail inhaled on his cigarette, then removed it from his mouth. "How are they doing?"

"Don't be coy. You've already seen them."

"But you know more than I do, don't you? Some of them were very hurt today. I trust you made sure they recovered."

"I'm not going to be your puppet, Rail. I'm doing this because I want to. Quit acting like I work for you." Tricis snapped.

"Just keep up with the agreement." Rail replied, "I'm impressed so far. You've been an excellent coach. I just hope they'll understand why you did this. If they find out, of course." Tricis glared at Rail with a stern frown. The red unicorn puffed his cigarette again as his lips curled into a smile. "Jade. You're quite attached to her. Aren't you?"

 

The sun came up hours later, dawning the new day.

Copper Strikes had gotten a call from someone to help out in a tournament lately.  He wondered why exactly he needed to be there, but it was a job, it looked like, to help a team advance to the next round.  Whatever the case, he needed to figure this out and what the cost will be.

He sat down on a chair in a waiting room and waited out for somepony to show up.  They told him to come to this area to meet someone, but didn't disclose who it would be.

As the morning sun rose to signal a new day, Dynamo groaned as the light hit his eyes, while the sunlight entered the room. He slowly sat up and saw that it was still pretty early. Even though he was a morning pony, he assumed that he was starting to get used to being up early to train. He slipped his way out of bed and began to quickly get ready for the day. After making sure he had everything, he exited his room to find his teammates.

As he passed the other rooms, he noticed that some of the others were still asleep. He honestly couldn't blame them as they all went through some fights. He noticed that Jade was missing, but soon remembered that the captain and he were to watch the other team fights. He closed his eyes to concentrate as he tried to locate his captain's magic signature. It was a calm aura, but the signature was close. He quietly opened the door that lead to the balcony to take in the morning sun and breeze. He took a deep breath, feeling just about rejuvenated. It was probably due to the coach healing him, along with the healing factor she had mentioned to everyone. He looked above him to see Jade, who was on the roof in a meditative posture. "Good morning Jade. How are you doing?" He asks, trying to grab her attention, but not trying to break her concentration.

Fans started filling the stadium, but for now no one from team Lotus was in the stands. The fight would also be televised for anyone near a screen to see.

Topaz was in the center of the ring, Team Tsunami and team Crimos should be behind the opposite gates waiting for them to open.

"Good morning everyone!" Topaz announced. "It's the final day of the second round, but we've saved the best for last! Only two more teams will advance to the semifinals and it's gonna get violent!"

Shining armor got up from his chair after checking the time and stepped out into the arena lobby in search of Copper. He didn't have much time to get the new pony up to speed.

Copper noticed the unicorn walking through the lobby and went up to him.  "Let's not waste any time," he said to the unicorn.  "I want to make sure my mission is as clear as day.  Explain everything you can, and please for the love of Celestia, leave the extended explaining out because I'll try to figure it out. I'll follow you to your room."

Rose laid down, breathing heavily due to training all night. She looked at her clones and watched as they disappeared. It was easy for one, but grew harder to concentrate with each additional one. She stood up and started to head and watch the fight

As the walked towards the arena, he nodded as she gave her status from yesterdays fight. "That's good to hear. I can understand given how strong Cumulus was." He says, remembering the Pegasus from the other team. He looked towards Jade and nodded at her question. "I did get plenty of rest. I managed to get a good amount of my magic back. I would say I'm about 85% back to full strength. I'm still a little sore, but other than that, I'm doing good." He says, the arena was just within their sights.

Canteen chuckled some as he fiddled with something on his forehead, coming out first he waved to the crowd "Aww they love me...they really do. Shame  really, ah well I suppose I'll give them a great show again. Probably wont even need you guys." he felt the scruff of his neck grabbed as he was hoisted up by an Emerald Griffin "Ahh hey let go, not my fault you are always in a fowl mood...get it..fowl...hehe." the thing on his forehead was a horn with some dried blood on it, tied around his chin. If anyone remembered it was that unicorn's horn from his other match that he left alive

The emerald griffin rolled her eyes as she was finally appearing in the tournament after being told she would be disqualified otherwise "Listen here you little shit, I put up with you because you are quite the competitor. Trust me if I could I would snap you like a twig." moving her arm she flung him to the ring before looking at her side. A rather petite earth pony walked to the ring with her. Shaking as he looked at the crowd using a pad to write out why he was dragged to such a dangerous place

"Steel your nerves Melio, we needed to have five members. More then Likely you wont be in a fight." a pegasus said walking next to Melio, a lance on it's back as well missing a wing. Looking around the place he sighed some "This has been rather uneventful, would of battled last time but it was sorta boring especially when Canteen was able to just destroy them."

Behind them was Arid as he walked with his assistance at his side, walking up  to the ring he waved at the announcer to tell her he would be the replacement team member.

A match is about to start and you will be one of the ponies fighting the winning team." He explained. "You're fighting as the alternate for Team Lotus. The team that I technically own, but I'm not the one who hired you. The team's trainer, Tricis Dewfall. She's the one who paid your expenses. I don't really know how she got the money, but that isn't important. She said that one of the members of team lotus wont be available for the semi-finals, but without a strong fifth member, that's you, they wont be able to survive. I don't know much more than that, but I can try to answer and questions you have."

Anyone from team Lotus who wasn't already at the ring would still have time to make it or could watch the fight on television.

Team Crimos was lined up in the grass area beside the ring. Canteen, the Emerald Griffon, Melio, the one-winged pegasus, and Arid.

"This is an interesting development, ponies!" Topaz announced, "It seems Aiden will not recover from his match in the perliminaries, and Arid will be serving as the team's alternate! This is the second time in this tournament that we're having a team owner fighting as a combatant! Let's hope it works out better for Blitz than it did for Tatterhoof!"

The gates on the other side of the ring to Team Tsunami slowly opened.

"You won't need to," Copper simply said to Shining, shaking his head and waving a dismissive hoof.  "What you said was just enough.  All you have to do is take me to where I need to be and I'll be on my way.  But I will ask, who are my team members?  If I happen to know at least one of them it won't be a total disaster for me."

Your team isnt fighting today." He explained. Then he started to list the members in no particular order. "There's Rose Beast, Jade Lotus, of course, Snow Frostflame, Draco O'Malley, and Dynamo Pad."

His eyes lightened up at the mention of Dynamo Pad, and he cracked a smile.  "Actually one of them knows me because we were friends long ago.  Dynamo Pad was, and should still be, my good friend."  He shook his head a little and his smile faded.  "I'll worry about reunions later, for now I have to get there to my team.  I don't think Dynamo knows I'm a mercenary yet."

As the door opened the other team began to walk out. In the front was a rather tall sapphire dragon, having a very tone body she walked to the ring as gems gleamed from between her horns. A set of small chains were holding up different gems between her horns as she opened her eyes they were orange in color "We are ready. More then likely we wont need to go past me."

Behind her was a pair of unicorns, twins as they both had half a mask on white with blue swirls. If they put the masks together they would form a whole mask. Both were males as they moved around each other making it hard to tell who was who. Their fur was white with blue mane and tails

Flying over head a pair of pegasi landed down onto the ground near the dragon the female one held up a hoof as a small black cloud "I hope we get to play this round though, you promised to let us really flex our muscles."

Arid one the other side of the ring hearing if he would fair better then Tatterhoof he yawned some "Who? Oh you mean that pathetic owner." he got up into the ring and casually walked over to the middle of the ring, his coat being unbuttoned once he was there and flung it back to his assistance. He was wearing a white dress shirt with a cravat tucked under his chin. His hooves were purple in color as he had no cutiemark, a necklace was peeking out from his cravat gold in color with a red gems "Let us get this over with, how do you want this to go down? I am up for one versus one, most wins moves on.."

The dragon jumped into the ring and walked to Arid, nodding her head but before the announcer could say a word a smirk came to her face as she raised her right foot and kicked Arid in the chin sending him flying across the ring "Oh sorry...I thought someone said begin. Shame really looks like the first fight is over."

She found a spot at the top of the stairs and sat there, leaving the seats for the paying audience. Plus, with such a hostile crowd, the last thing she needed was the wrong type of attention. She would hang back and keep a low profile, and rely on the teams being astute enough to notice her and Dynamo sitting there.

Topaz whistled and pointed at the dragon. "I haven't started the fight yet! The two captains need to agree on terms for the fight and play by the rules or I'll be forced to disqualify you and that won't be good for either of us, understand?"

As the two entered the arena and walked up the stairs, Dynamo nodded at the orders his captain had given. "Fair enough and sounds like a plan. We'll all need to be well rested and recovered for these next few teams. I hope the others are going to watch these fights. It's better to know your opponents, in order to figure out how to fight them. Given that every other team might know how we fight at this point." He noted, taking a seat next to Jade at the top of the stairs.

As the two teams had entered the arena, Dynamo was surprised as the Dragon from team Tsunami had kicked one of Canteen's teammates. "They thought the match had already begun? It seems like some competitors are just eager to begin a battle." He says, taking notice of the others teammates on Team Crimos's side. He remembered hearing that Arid would be the team alternate, before he was kicked by the dragon. "So, he's being an alternate for someone else, at the moment. Considering he's a team owner, I wonder how strong he really is? I can't say going by when he got kicked, but looks can be deceiving." He muttered, waiting to see how the match would play out.
