"Tricis knows what she's doing," she panted, nearly faltering a few times, "and I will defend her life. If I cannot, then I will defend the next one."

Tricis smiled at Jade. She came to this conflict expecting to die. Even wanting to die. Now she wasn't sure if she'd die or not. From this distance, it was clear to Jade that Rokata had wounded her extensively, piercing her lungs, liver and stomach with a single swipe, shattering her ribs, breaking major arteries, but thankfully missing her heart. Draco's talismans alone wouldn't be enough to save her, but she might still survive if enough ponies banded their magic together. The question might be if she wanted to be saved at all.

"I've spent so long worrying..." She said weakly to Jade. "Now I can see that it will all work out. Just one piece of advice." Tricis reached out and stroked Jade's cheek. "Your cool head, you don't need it here. I know you're too cool to care, but... do yourself a favor and pretend like you do, okay?"

As Tricis lowered her hoof, the bubble surrounding Draco and Copper burst, freeing them both. She lost consciousness, but she may not be dead.

"Are we done here, Jade?" Tokata asked, his expression twisting to a smile. "Or do I need to kill another one of your friends for you to start taking yourself seriously?"

Rail sat behind the door of the infirmary, out of view of the two ponies conversing. Though they may have smelled the scent of his scotch or the cigarette he was calmly enjoying. He had Selene with him, standing up while he sat.

Draco hover over to Tricis. He landed roughly. ribs broken. He slipped his gauntlets onto Tricis quickly despite the pain. He then activated the healing magics with in the gauntlets. enough to heal her up to not be in danger of dying.  He had difficulty breathing hell if anything he was having trouble standing. He looked at Rokata and said "leave this blood bath to the finals Rokata," Draco stated as he channeled his magic into Tricis. His eyes held resolution. He stood firm .

You wouldnt get a wise ole pony with a beard and give you subtle hints of how to improve." he said before yawning a bit laying on his back "Though I bet you would use your mind racer in new and wonderful ways."

Dynamo had listened intently on what Viridi had been telling him. "I never knew a baton could even do something like that. Normally, you'd think it would be a joy buzzer would give a little shock. It's pretty interesting how the runes work, but it still sounds pretty painful to me, in my opinion. You're definitely tough and you do make a great leader for the guard. Even though we won the semi finals, you did a great job in leading the team." He says, frowning as he listened to her remark. "I'm really sorry to hear that. I'm not looking to start a fight, but it would have been cool to see what would happen if you went full power."

As Canteen had suddenly sat up, the gaming unicorn chuckled. "I thought you'd be out for a bit from what happened with the electric batons, but it's good to see that you're awake. I can understand what you mean, but at least you'd be unique as a master. Maybe I could learn a few things about your fighting style. You're still a really strong rival and there's no doubting that." At the mention of his mind racer spell, he looked towards the ground with a frown. "I guess, but I'm not truly sure. You see, that spell is only used as a last resort. It's a power up to my abilities when it comes to fighting. I was thinking it would fit more along the lines of video games, but I haven't really had time to test the spell. The spell only works for ten seconds at best. I don't know how to extend the time limit without feeling the massive drain on my magic."

As Sueno began to explain how she knew what he was thinking, he turned to her with a shocked look upon her face. All the while, noticing that she had taken some tarot cards and crystal ball from her saddle bag. "So, you're sort of a fortune teller? I've once seen Pinkie Pie trying to do fortune telling, but it was more along the lines of birthday gifts." He glanced over to Canteen, before turning his attention back towards Sueno. "How was that able to happen? It's like you're telling me that Canteen isn't bound by any sort of fate or prediction. If you're able to see the future, then do you know what may or may not happen with the final matches?" As he was handed the gems, Dynamo raised an eyebrow, before becoming reluctant. "I do appreciate the offer, but is this safe? I mean, I'm afraid the gems can be addicting and might have some side effects." He hoped there was an explanation towards the gems as he wanted to be safe, instead of sorry.

As Dynamo continued to converse with Canteen and the rest of Team Crimos. He suddenly ceased talking as a scent had reached his nostrils. "Hey. Do you guys smell something? I just smelled this odd odor just now." He looked around trying to figure out the source of the scent. He looked towards the door, but he didn't exactly know why. 'Why do I sense a sort of dread like I did all that time ago? I-It can't be...could it?'

Seeing the gauntlets from Draco, he knew it was only delaying the inevitable.  So he took the gauntlets and brought them back to their user, letting him heal up instead.  "Why waste your energy to heal your trainer?" he asked Draco.  "Apparently fate has a way with twisting things to where we cannot stop it.

"As for you, Jade," he added as he pulled his leader away from Tricis and Rokata, "sometimes it's too late to save a mare and/or stallion.  We need to heal up before we join her in death.  Besides, we have to save our energy for the Finals."

"And finally," he continued as he picked up Draco, holding both him and Jade as he looked at Rokata.  "I get where you're coming from.  There's no point in being afraid of the inevitable.  There's just one problem, Roky.  Death will be calling your name eventually, and when he does come to get his due... don't come crying to Jade.  If you do... well it'll be up to her to let you live or not in the tournament."

With all of that out of his system, he finally started carrying both Draco and Jade, starting the trek back to the stadium grounds.

Jade couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. She always figured Rokata would have a bounty on his head, but she didn't care about that. She wanted the world to be safer without a lunatic hunting down innocent creatures.

She turned her attention to Tricis, her heart aching at the sight of her mangled body. Somehow she was still alive, but she seemed... peaceful. Like she wanted this to end.

Jade didn't know what to do. A warm tear trickled down her cheek to meet Tricis's hoof. "I can't just let you die..."

But Tricis was correct. She had spent so much time and energy worrying about honour, on a stallion who such efforts were wasted. A dishonourable murderer.

Something inside her changed. She felt different. Like a withered lock had finally broken.

She looked up at Rokata to answer, her teary eyes suddenly sporting slit, reptilian-like pupils.

"How about I kill you instead?" she asked, her tone suddenly dark and cold. "Would that suffice?"

Jade's pupils returned to normal as she felt herself being lifted off the ground. Copper's words went through to her, and a flurry of thoughts and emotions shot through her mind.

No. No. No. Not like this. No. I won't let her die. It won't end this way.

She kicked herself off his shoulders.

Rage.

How dare he.

She glared at Copper, reptilian eyes returning and her mouth contorted into a snarl. Anyone who could see auras would notice hers was burning, almost out of control, and into what seemed to be the shape of a dragon.

"Do not forget your place," she growled, in a voice that didn't sound like her own. "Her fate is not yours to decide."

That made Copper stop, dropping Draco on the ground.  Now he was absolutely FURIOUS.  He slowly turned around to face Jade, a silver aura engulfing him.  His eyes turned a crimson red as he spoke softly, but in a commanding tone.  "It may not be for me to decide, but I know when to step aside for fate to do its' thing."  His voice grew louder now.  "Let me ask you two questions, Jade.  Would you rather be at full strength, with the magic that you have right now, enacting your revenge on Rokata?  Or, would you rather defend Tricis, knowing full well that you are weaker than you should be, only to be fully taken advantage of, and possibly killed, therefore THROWING AWAY THE ONLY OPPORTUNITY WE HAVE, IN DEFEATING ROKATA?!"  The last three words were in a scream that echoed in the area.  He resumed a more talking voice, but still kept it threatening, as he continued.

"You are our leader, Jade Lotus.  You must not be killed.  I can tell how much magic power you have right now, and it may be enough to defeat this one.  So let me ask you again, would you rather live to defeat Rokata, or run the risk of dying right here by his hooves?  And by the way... you sound almost exactly like him."  He HAD to throw that in for good measure.

So... that was enough. Rokata's expression evened and he turned to Draco when he told him to leave the bloodbath to the finals.

"Like I said, this is just the end of something that began before any of you were born. I came here for the tournament, and I intend to face Jade there." He turned his attention to Jade. "If her team can even get her that far. Your friends will need two wins before you can face me."

This was an interesting development. Rokata expected Jade's friends to attack him outright, but one of them was furiously trying to keep her from fighting him. This gave him an idea, but he might not even have to act on it, so he waited and watched how the two would converse.

"MY RIBS!" Draco stated as he was dropped onto his side. He stood up slowly. Draco tossed the gauntlets onto Tricis. He looked at Rokata right in the eyes as he stood there. "Selfish ponies," Draco stated as he wheezed. "My gauntlets can only stop," he stated. "I didn't become this mangled mess just because of two ponies can't accept that you can defy destiny," Draco stated as he growled letting out his bloodlust. "Jade and Copper if you don't help me save this mare I will kill you both right here and now," Draco stated with a promise.

Viridi began to chuckle "Wow you sure seems down about stuff you cant control or knew about. Relax it will fine." she then heard of going all out grinning some "When I have recovered then I'll spar with you...if you pushed Canteen to his limit you will see me at my full. I will start off mostly full power."

Sueno looked back at Canteen and began to sigh "In a way yes. Ever since he began to use those gems it changed his mind in very unpredictable ways. I'll explain in a bit." she heard the questions nodding her head "I have indeed seen into the finals, even put a bet on the winning team. Now with the gems you may or may not get addicted to them. Everyone is different, Melios didnt, Canteen Did, you may get addicted or be a new case of some weird adverse affect. Now dont chew it..swallow it whole. I noticed Canteen didnt tell you about this...if you swallow the gem Whole it works to recharge your magic if you lost any. If you havent lost any the magic draws off the gem itself till it drains."

Laying there Canteen listened to everyone before hearing Dynamo smelling something odd.."Oh sorry I didnt think anyone would smell that."he said sheepishly as he pushed his back legs to slide along the floor to the door "I'll be back Imma go get some food. Anyone want anything? Defiant, Viridi, Sueno, Dynamo? What of you guys?" he said at the door way speaking towards Rail and Selene

"Yes Canteen bring me some Nacho's back with Jalepenos and cheese, a hamburger as well. Thank you..." hearing of the two others she rolled her eyes some "Yes bring them something as well Canteen...in fact bring everyone some food." she called out to the doorway "I'll cover your fee as well." she said tossing a bag of bits to Canteen who caught it and began to head off. Sueno turned her attention back to Dyamo "Now then.." she used her magic to grab over a white board and used a dry erase marker she drew a giant circle "Imagine this..your life is a circle and you start from the outer rim of the circle heading to the middle where your life ends."

She began to draw a maze throughout the entirety of the circle

Dynamo looked up to Viridi, who chuckled as he listened to her remark. "Thank you and I'm glad to know that someone has some confidence in me. I just worry that the spell will come back to haunt me in the long run. That, and I haven't found the answer to lessen the drawbacks of the spell. I remember my coach, Tricis, had told me to use the spell more. I just don't know how to break down the formula of the spell. I guess the answer will reveal itself in the future." At the mention of a spar, Dynamo smiled at the offer. "I'd like that. The same goes for me after I recover and after this tournament is over, of course. I'll make sure to go full power instead of working my way to full power. I hope we can hang out and I can get to know you more, Viridi. Anyone who's a friend of Canteen and Melio is a friend of mine."

He turned his attention over to Sueno, who had begun to explain the effects of the gems. "So, the gems don't always have the same base effect. It all depends on the user that takes said gem." At the mention of swallowing the gem whole, Dynamo gulped in worry. "I'm just afraid I'll choke on the gem. I was surprised that the gem was easy to chew and break down, instead of being an actual gem. I did notice that I did get a bit of a charge on my magic when I chewed said gem. That does bring up a good question. What happens if you are at half magic strength and then you swallow the gem whole? What would be the effect of the gem? Is there also a limit to how many gems someone can take? Not only that, but what happens if one takes too many gems?"

Dynamo glanced over to Canteen, before giving his friend a deadpanned expression. "Yeah...I'm going to pretend that I didn't hear that. Plus, that wasn't what I was talking about. I know my magic is still recharging, but I can still barely sense this magic energy. It's coming from behind the door, but I've got this bad feeling, you know?" At the mention of getting food and drinks, Dynamo nodded in agreement. "I'll take a soda, if that's okay. Thank you Canteen and thank you, Miss Sueno." He raised an eyebrow as Canteen left and talked to someone outside, but he decided to wait and pay what was going on no mind. He turned his attention back to Sueno, who began drawing a giant circle on an erase board. "I can understand how you start from the outer ring of the circle, before trying to get to the center. It's just...what does that have to do with the maze or anything?" He wondered as she began to draw a maze throughout the circle.

"Nothing for me?" Nin asked. He was that yellow unicorn with the red hair on Team Rokata who Dynamo had seen the least of. He was crouched in the windowsill in the opposite direction of the door they were focusing on. He had no distinct smell giving him away, and oddly, they couldn't sense him either, like he was no stronger than a regular pony. He must have been hiding his strength somehow. He was still wearing the same leather contraption on his left leg as before, which he seemed to always have.

Nin jumped from the window and landed softly in the infirmary. "Please, don't let us intrude. You were talking about training with Canteen, correct? Don't you think it's a bit late for that?"

"Intimidation is a tactic for the weak." Selene scolded. She was standing in the doorway next to a calm looking Rail.

Nin smiled and arched his shoulders. "It's just a bit of fun. I'm not even fighting him."

Nin jumped from the window and landed softly in the infirmary. "Please, don't let us intrude. You were talking about training with Canteen, correct? Don't you think it's a bit late for that?"

"Intimidation is a tactic for the weak." Selene scolded. She was standing in the doorway next to a calm looking Rail.

Nin smiled and arched his shoulders. "It's just a bit of fun. I'm not even fighting him."

Dynamo's ears perked as he noticed the presence that was crouched in the windowsill. He turned to see a yellow unicorn with red hair, but Dynamo couldn't tell who this pony was. As the yellow unicorn jumped and landed in the infirmary. Dynamo raised an eyebrow as he wondered what was going on. As he listened to this pony's remark, Dynamo felt hurt, but nodded. "Yes I was and I don't think training is a waste of time, to be honest. Any time for training can possibly help in the long run. Why would you say something like that? Not only that, but who are you, if you don't mind me asking." He didn't feel as scared as he should have been. Dynamo had to admit that he couldn't sense his energy. However, he wasn't sure if this pony had hidden his power, or if he was just like a regular pony like the blue unicorn. He noticed the leather contraption on the yellow unicorn's left leg, but decided to not to question anything.

The gaming unicorn then turned towards the doorway as he noticed the two other presences made their appearance. It was Selene, who had been scolding the yellow unicorn, as well as Rail. Dynamo had glanced from the yellow unicorn to Selene as he noticed the exchange between the two. 'It seems like they know each other, but how? Could this pony be a part of Team Rokata? He could either be the alternate, or he might be fighting one of the others on my team.' He wasn't sure about his assumptions, so he decided to file this as a discussion for later. "Hey Selene and Mr. Rail. It's nice to see you two again. Although, this is a surprise. To what do I owe the visit?" The last time he met them was after the first round of the tournament. He kept his guard up as he wasn't sure what would happen, but he tried to stay calm. He had a feeling that Selene wasn't here to fight as he knew Sueno and the others were here to protect the blue unicorn.

"You are our leader, Jade Lotus.  You must not be killed.  I can tell how much magic power you have right now, and it may be enough to defeat this one.  So let me ask you again, would you rather live to defeat Rokata, or run the risk of dying right here by his hooves?  And by the way... you sound almost exactly like him."  He HAD to throw that in for good measure.

Jade didn't waver, her dragon-like eyes not even blinking as she glared straight at Copper. She wasn't phased, not even flinching at his raised voice.

Who does this whelp think he is? Waltzing in out of nowhere and he thinks he can give me orders?

"You're right," she said, her voice just as low and threatening as she took a step forward. "I am your leader."

She looked back up, opened her eyes. They were no longer slit. Her flaring aura had calmed. Whatever had taken over her seemed to have been fought back, for now.

"We won't fight Rokata here," she said, her voice returned to normal, "but we can't just leave Tricis to his mercy. She needs medical help." She sounded desperate, almost pleading.

Copper nodded swiftly, his eyes returning to their brown color.  Immediately throwing what he had said about not being afraid of the inevitable out into the dumpster fire, he jumped over Jade and to Tricis's side.  He put the gauntlets on her exactly the way Draco did and slowly picked her up.  "It'll be okay, Tricis.  We're here for you." he said in a worried tone.  "Help me!" he barked to Draco.

"Nothing for me?" Nin asked. He was that yellow unicorn with the red hair on Team Rokata who Dynamo had seen the least of. He was crouched in the windowsill in the opposite direction of the door they were focusing on. He had no distinct smell giving him away, and oddly, they couldn't sense him either, like he was no stronger than a regular pony. He must have been hiding his strength somehow. Canteen stopped when he heard the question he jumped slightly "Oh wow, I didnt even notice you. Seeing you are here." he offered the bag over "Go get our order chop chop." he began to grin before seeing the guy jump over to the infirmary to speak to the others, hearing of the training part he coughed some to interject "Oh if it was to fight you he wouldnt need the training or practice. In all honesty I thought you were a servant to get the food." he smiled as he sat there for a second rubbing at his nose a bit "I'm not too worried if he were to face you but seeing he is facing someone formidable a day of training with me and he will be fine."  he began to stand up "Right food..." he said starting to walk off to get it


Looking at the ones who showed up Viridi began to sit up stretching some "Well I suppose I should say welcome. I am pretty sure none of you are here to start anything.." she flexed a talon as she narrowed her eyes at Nin "Am I correct?"

Defiant was still under his pillow just trying to rest as he called out "Be nice to get some quiet around here, sadly it seems Canteen attracts all the loud mouthed pain in the asses." he said as he rolled over on the bed and covered his head with another pillow

 

Looking between all the new company she bowed her head some "Welcome, now you are either here for three reasons. First being to take out the competition but I am doubtful of that. Second to gather intelligence perhaps about the gems or Thirdly Are in need of the infirmary.." she pushed her glasses up some as she looked at the three "I dont see any injuries on you...yet. so may I inquire the secrecy?  If you wanted to join us we have no issue with any of you and sure we can be civil perhaps even lunch together."

"Civil as always, Dynamo," Rail said as Nin returned to his side. Nin nodded when Sueno identified him by name. "And no, it's nothing like that. I'm here to invite you to my executive booth tomorrow, Dynamo, to watch my team in the semifinals." He opened his eyes and trained them on Dynamo, half-lidded. "As for Selene and Nin, they came here on their own accord and I assume they have their own reasons."

It was hard to tell if what they were doing was working. There were no visible signs of Tricis' recovery on the outside, but they may have still been stabilizing her condition. Her chest was barely moving with fast, shallow breaths. 

Rokata watched the scene unfold, the infighting and the desperate attempts to save Tricis. He'd seen scenes like this before, but it was never easy to watch no matter how detached he made himself. There was nothing more he needed to do now, not until the finals, so he turned around and started walking away from them all, trudging back into the thick brush.

Copper kept a keen eye on Rokata while keeping pace with Draco and Jade, trying to keep Tricis alive and well.  While doing so, his eyes turned back into their crimson red state as he said, in a voice that resembled a demon-type but still quiet enough for Jade and Draco to hear, "Rokata is a weakling.  Those deaths he had caused will bite him in the ass one day."

Yes, he is a weakling. He will be destroyed.

She shook her head.

It may come to that, but maybe there's still a shred of a soul left inside him.

Dynamo smiled somewhat as he heard Rail's remark. "Well, you know me, sir. I'm not the type of pony to start trouble, unless it involves my friends. Everyone deserves to be treated with some respect, right?" At the mention of being invited to watch Rokata's team in an executive booth, Dynamo's eyes widened slightly in surprise. He didn't expect to get that sort of invitation, but then his eyes narrowed slightly. "That's a nice offer sir, but what's the catch. Usually, an offer this nice has to have some kind of drawback." He wanted to say that Rokata's team would easily win, but he didn't want to say that out loud to anyone. Watching Rokata's fight from before had proved his statement. Granted, would the other members fight again, or would it be Rokata just showing his feats. "Is the invitation only going out to me, or is this available to the rest of my team? I'd hate to be rude and leave anyone out, you know. In the off chance, I'll get back to you, but thank you for the offer. It's really kind of you, sir." He knew that if his team found out, they could try and possibly gain some sort of information regarding the team they'd be facing. Even still, it was way too early to tell.

"So, this pony is named Nin, huh?" He looked over and inspected Nin, who stood in the center of the room. "Seeing how I couldn't sense you energy, then that means that you're a ninja? That's actually pretty cool, if you ask me. I've only known of ninja in some manga I've read. It's the first time I've met a ninja in person." He looked the pony over, raising a curious eyebrow. "Then again, wouldn't you wear an attire that would make you stick to the shadows? I see a sort of leather contraption on your leg, but I'm guessing that's your weapon of choice to fight?" He decided that this would be the best time to regain his energy. He took the gem Sueno had passed over to him and swallowed the gem whole. As he ate the gem, he could feel the effects of the gem starting to work. His magic was slowly returning, but it was still a slow process. He kept the remaining gem for later, just in case of an emergency. "How about you, Selene? I haven't seen you since after the first round of the tournament." The gaming unicorn turned his attention over to Selene, who was still standing near the doorway. With two members of Team Rokata near him, Dynamo had to remain cautious. At the same time, he had a feeling that Rail was being truthful in not sending others to fight outside the ring. "What brings you here? You don't seem like the type of pony to pick fights without a reason. So, I'm going to guess that you're here to either check up on me, to talk, or both. For that matter, how did you know I was here?" He wondered if she saw him leave the ring, or if Mason had given out any information. He just decided to wait and see how things would play out.

Listening to the conversation Sueno just smiled softly at the others "That is very nice to offer, however Dynamo will be training during that. Better use of his time then watch a quick semi-finals match. Besides when the finals come to a close only one team will remain." she began to look at Dynamo she used her magic to use  cotton swamp and rubbing alcohol to treat the scraps and cut on him.

Canteen was down the hall happily skipping his way down towards the infirmary, behind him was a cart that he was attached to. Coming to the door he kept walking bumping into Nin coming to a stop "Hey so I couldnt remember all the stuff so I took their cart. So let me see here." he began to get in the cart and walks over to Selene and Rail placing hot dogs and nachos with cheese dip near them before walking up tying it to Nin's leather doohicky he had. Moving over he set a soda by Dynamo, Nachos for Sueno tossing dogs over to Viridi

"Hope you Enjoy..also Dynamo when you wake up the Training begins and I would get plenty of rest."

As he contemplated on Rail's offer, he blinked in surprise as he heard Sueno vouching for the blue unicorn. He looked over to Sueno, before offering her a kind and appreciative smile. "I guess that answers my question. Sorry about that Mr. Rail." He looked back towards the business pony as he gave him an apologetic look. He winced slightly as Sueno began to treat his scrapes and wounds from the fight. He knew the gem had helped Dynamo to regain his magic and mend a few cracked ribs, but the cuts and scrapes weren't fully healed. 

As Canteen had made his return, Dynamo smiled, before giving a questioning look towards his friend. "I want to say I'm either surprised or not surprised, but I will admit that bringing the entire cart was pretty convenient." He smiled as Canteen handed him a soda, before levitating the soda over to himself. He swallowed another gem whole, while taking a sip of his beverage. "Thanks for the soda, Canteen. Also, I don't blame you on forgetting as I usually need a list to remember a lot of items to get at a market/store." He chuckled, before paling slightly at the mention of training as early as possible. Still, he smiled as he knew the training would be helpful, in his opinion. "I'm not much of a morning pony, but I guess it can't be helped. Do you have a certain time on when I need to be awake by? I guess we'll discuss the plans for training later on, right?"

When the plate of Canteen got near Nin's left leg, he extended his hoof out to Canteen to stop him from getting close enough to do anything. The underside of the leather implement had a folded blade that ran all the way along the underside of the leg strap. It looked like it could unfold in combat, but bizarrely, the blade was pointed inward and positioned in such a way that it would make an incredibly ineffective weapon. It seemed like the blade would be more likely to cut Nin himself than any opponent he would face, seeming like a poor design.

Rail frowned and swilled the drink he had in front of him. "That's unfortunate. You'll have plenty of time to prepare tomorrow, I assure you the match will be short and you will benefit greatly from seeing it. But I'm not going to force you to do anything." He closed his eyes and took a modest sip of his drink. "Aside from competing, of course."

There were still no visible changes in Tricis condition, but she was still alive. While the three attempted to stabilize her, they heard another set of hooves approaching, but this time it was somepony friendly. Shining Armor was jogging toward them with a stern, businesslike expression on his face, the captain knew what was going on just from a quick assessment of what he was seeing and he didn't need to ask any questions.
