I want to like this holiday, but like most holidays, the modern version of it is so corporate that it hurts. The creator of the holiday, Anna Jarvis, hated the idea of Mother's Day being so commercial. She even canceled the holiday outright eventually because of that.

Still, for what it is worth, happy mother's day. Me and my mom don't speak a whole lot to each other these days, I find I just don't connect with her as much as before, but I will try to today at the very least.
