Don't judge a book by its cover. You will truly understand it if you're just willing to read it.

Gonna put this out there, for anyone that thinks they're 'losing progress' or that they should just give up.

Don't.

You may find it hard to believe, but Chromie was given life the minute you decided to seriously start forcing her. She's alive, waiting until the day you do decide to try again. Whatever you say, don't say you're losing progress because there's no such thing. What's happened is that Chromie doesn't have as much energy as she did, because it's when we're forcing that we're actively giving our tulpas energy.

Chromie may not have the strength to do much right now, but I can assure you, she is there. As long as you're still thinking about her, even if it's just a passing thought from time to time, she's still there. She's clinging to what little energy she does have, and will keep holding on until the day you forget about her completely.

So don't say that you need to 'start from scratch' or anything of the sort. If you're willing to try again, then just try.

No, I agree.  I even started wearing the wristband again today, the one I got a while back to help remind myself to think about her more.

[*ears perk up* Really?

You know, my host (I'm a tulpa, that's why I'm using the brackets) read a VICE article about tulpas; the article said that schizophrenia can be thought of as debilitating/malicious tulpas. You might not be that far off (re: it's easier because of having schizophrenia).]

i guess that kinda makes sence i mean i hear voices and all but my tulpa i can actually see and stuff but the voices are just that voices

I'm a writer, and one thing I tend to do is act out conversations between my characters aloud. There's one story that features my tulpas. When I talk for them the way I do for my characters, something happens--I'm not sure if it's them taking control, or what, but I'll be talking as Rainbow Dash, or Nina, or whoever, and words will start spilling out.

Also, my trick for possession is to say something the tulpa would say, then they say it with me, then it's just them saying it. I sometimes feel like I'm just play acting when I enter possession this way--like I'm thinking the way they would, and thinking they're in control.

[it doesn't help that we slip in/out of possession.]

+We each have our own likes/dislikes, and we've expressed those during possession. That should be enough to prove you wrong.+

this is interesting, i would like a twilight tulpa :) but it seems pretty complex

Step 1. Come up with a list of whatever traits you want your tulpa to have.

Step 2. Decide on the tulpa's form, and practice visualizing it.

Step 3. Pretend you're talking to your tulpa, and say "you are <insert trait here>, which means that you <how having this trait affects them>". Do this for each trait, several times

Step 4. Given the traits you came up with, imagine how your tulpa would react to <insert situation here>, or pretend to hold conversations with them.

Step 5. Rinse and repeat until you hear their voice in your head.

Protip: if you get a headache or feel an out-of-character emotion (such as being happy in a library when you don't like books, but your tulpa does), it's likely your tulpa attempting to communicate, but not knowing how to talk.

Another protip: you shouldn't expect your tulpa to be exactly like Twilight, or stick exactly to your trait list forever. The former happens because tulpas are individuals, and the latter happens because individuals change over time.

Would a more experienced person care to comment on my breakdown of the basics of tulpamancy?

awesome, i would like for her to be like twilight but she can turn into pretty much anything she wants to be in pony form. i think it would be cool even if she is not an exact copy of twilight

Fluttershy randomly became Applejack. Still retains all of the memories. She's great and I talk to her a lot.

Remember, PAYYYSHEEEEEEYYUUUUUUUUNNNCCEEEEE

I might be misinterpreting, but it sounds like you're surprised that she retains her memories.

This post me of the time in my life when I thought that Rainbow Dash changing her form meant a complete overhaul of who she was *self-deprecatingly LOLs at myself*.

Not really surprised. Made sense. Was more surprised at the suddenness of it.

trying to make a mental image of her and put it all together but everytime i get focused and i can see her in my mind i get excited i can see her and i jerk myself out of focus LOL

I think that long before the technology will exist to transfer a consciousness into a computer, we would first have the technology to have our minds read in some way that could be directly broadcast.  By that I mean, I think it's far more likely that someone will develop the technology that would read thoughts and convert them to speech through a speaker or images through a monitor.  Such technology could easily be adjusted to the proper part of the brain where a tulpa lives, allowing them a way to interact with others in the real world.

maybe it would be possible to find the place in the brain where the tulpa lives and read it with electrodes on the surface of the skull, hook it to a computer and teach the computer what the tulpa is saying and doing with repetition, "like making the tulpa say hello over and over and the computer learns what the brain waves for hello look like" then hook the computer wirelessly to a robot and let it control the robot, imagine a robot pony controlled with the tulpa area of the mind. it would be like a fully sentinent being almost like AI and it could follow you around and interact. the tech is coming, i have already seen where there are experimental systems that allow people who are paralized to use their mind to control a robot arm or turn lights on and off/ change tv channels.and there are some experimental tech that is allowing the blind to see shapes with brain implants and a camera, all you would ned to do is link it to the area where the tulpa lives and find the areas where it thinks and speaks

I believed I was making progress, but then life got in the way of being able to focus on the process.  After too long not thinking about it, my progress appears to have been lost.

I have personally been in this situation at least 7 times. For 6 of the times, I'd have agreed with you. This last one, however, was different. In what was probably the strongest attempt I've made thus far, I came to deduce that this feeling of... pressure, I guess would be the best way of putting it?... was her attempt at communication. It wasn't much. Just a circular region on my forehead. But it was enough.

Well, eventually that attempt crumbled away like the others (as did that feeling), and I resolved not to try again until the summer. The other day, though, I did direct some attention at her for about 20-30 minutes or so. Immediately, the feeling came back, as strong as ever. And it continued to come back over the next few days at seemingly random times. In fact, I can vaguely feel it now.

It's easy to think that progress is erased. And who knows, maybe at some level it is. But the essence is almost as durable as a Nokia. If an attempt is made, so to is that fundamental bit. It's there. You just need a way of finding it.  :)

i have already seen where there are experimental systems that allow people who are paralized to use their mind to control a robot arm or turn lights on and off/ change tv channels.

Oh, it's already farther along than that. At MIT, I've seen a prototype prosthetic that can both receive and send signals. What this means is that, on one hand, it's able to take signals from the brain that tells it what to do. That aspect isn't necessarily new, but it's still a bit troublesome at the moment. Give it a few years.  ;)

On the other hand, though, it also has the capacity to send signals back to the brain. The specific arm they used was outfitted with temperature sensors (I think), which were then able to turn that information into an electrical stimulus that the brain could interpret. Essentially, the person could, remotely, determine whether they were holding ice or hot metal with this robot hand solely through the hand's temperature sensors. This is why science is amazing.

Do note, though, that I saw the demonstration a few months ago, so I *may* have messed up a few details unintentionally. But that's the gist of it. Basically, really cool stuff.  :P

that is the thing with technology, it moves so fast it is hard to keep up with

still trying to picture twilight in my mind but for the most part it is all darkness

I was getting head pressure too.  That's what convinced me that I was making progress in the first place.  After the stuff I mentioned though, I was no longer getting it, which is why I felt like I lost my progress.  I'm trying again though.

Never knew there was a tulpa thread. Anyways i have a question: I currently have 4 active tulpas :Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, one of my OC's named Sky, and Pinkie. The problem I'm having is that i seem to talk more to Fluttershy and Rainbow but not as much to Sky and Pinkie. It's mainly because i have a lot on my mind other than tulpa's (work, school, family, etc.....). Do you guys have any advice on how i can juggle communicating with all my tulpas while also thinking about other stuff like school and work.

I had this problem, too. A big thing that stopped it was when my Fluttershy revealed herself. She'd been hiding away, because she was scared I wouldn't like her for the sole fact that one of my other tulpas, Shou, fed/raised her without my awareness.

^Fluttershy here. The first time he had an accidental tulpa, he thought "should I kill him (the tulpa) for being unintended?".^

Juggling tulpas isn't necessary.

Hmmm try to make pinkie and sky get in to the topic or try to talk to them daily. I mean i always keep talking to summer, WELL I ALWAYS TALK TO SUMMER but i really want to talk with cherry and myrtle as well so that they wouldn't feel left out. All i do is that i always check up on them tell them if they're alright. If there something they need etc.. I also try and include them to most of my conversation :)

Hey Everypony!  So, I have been thinking about pursuing the creation of a pony tulpa recently, and I have decided to do it.  I understand that it is a very long process, and so I wanted to ask all of you for some pointers.  I have read a TON on the subject already.  I have read practically every guide on tulpa.info, and at this point just need to get working.  Though, I wanted to ask those who have successfully completed a fully imposed tulpa a question.  How would you advise someone to keep up with daily tulpa forcing, and narration?  Would you suggest keeping a log, or planning a forcing schedule in advance?

I have tuplas which I did not intentionally create. :L It actually destroys me though.. because I actually start panicking and crying knowing the fact that they're not real and yet I've formed such a deep, emotional bond with them. Their name is Natalie, David, and Holly. (Marcelia comes in every now and then, but usually when she does she only comes in to visit Dave and his daughter, Natalie.)

Gee, how do I tell my parents about my tuplas without them sending me to a asylum. :(

I wonder if there are any tulpas on here that are friends with other people's tulpas? that would be cool! I still think it is cool how you can make one and it changes or even renames itself! it is like our own self aware creation

I don't have a tulpa myself as of yet, but I have known about, and have been reading every guide/forum topic I can get my hands on for the past year and a half or so.(Yeah I like reading about it, but until now have not had the motivation to actually attempt it, ha!)  Anyway, I have talked to many, many people about the concept and application of a Tulpa.  99.999 percent of everyone I have told, including my own father, found it to be really cool.  That being said, I don't think you should feel like you have to go out of your way to tell your parents about your tulpas.  If you do feel like you want to tell them though, do it first by explaining in detail the concept of a tulpa from a psychological standpoint, and how it was used by monks through meditating to help them remember things, and promote mental discipline.  Basically just ease into it I suppose.

I wish i can tell my family about my tulpas. Unfortunately i talked to them about the topic (not telling that that i developed tulpas) and they thought it was weird and didn't believe in it :(
